    All my life I've been looking for the perfect tenor.... and here he is! Utterly magnificent singing in every way, and he looks like a member of the Rat Pack.

    The tenor opened his mouth, and I melted.

    Me estremezco, siempre que la escucho, ante esta magnífica obra. Magnífica también la orquesta, así como magnífico es el tenor. Una maravilla.

    Una de las obras vocales más inquietantes de Britten junto con el Canto II de Abraham e Isaac.

    Oh ya ... camera should have been on the horn hand technique at the end of the elegy for the transition to the dirge.

    How come (in all the you tube vids I've seen)vsingers have no music on a stand and horn players do?!?! I ask as a horn player?

    • @BangkokVoiceCoach
      @BangkokVoiceCoach 8 месяцев назад

      That's the convention. Some singers do use the score but it greatly impedes communicating the narrative of the songs. The horn, however, is an orchestral instrument and playing from the score it seen as standard practise.

      the horn playing is really good. I'm a measly horn player... if you were, you would know that the horn part was written for Dennis Brain, the best horn player of the the twentieth century, because for him it would not be a challenge. For mere mortals it is. Thurgood does good.
