I definitely didn’t like the margin in which he won when given the players he had when he won. He recruited better than every one in the sun belt but he barely won games. Ppl was really hyped for that. I didn’t understand it and then the season started and he proved me right for 2 years. We look like a high school team. Napier isn’t ready for this level of play. As far as Billy wearing too many hats, guy seems incapable of handling one. Evaluation of future AD and head coach needs to be in the hands of far wiser minds. Sometimes what we want simply isn’t going to happen. The mental errors are a reflection of leadership. Sigh. Still waiting for improvement. The athletes deserve better. What Billy looks like, seems to be what he is. Slow, lifeless and simple. What troubles me is that he has always looked and sounded like this. Wondering how he was chosen and by whom. Thinking too many sycophants in the program and hierarchy of my school. Shame.

    Even with the potential of DJ Lagway starting vs Samford, the offense won't look different as long as Napier is the playcaller. Plus, the offensive line is still atrocious. Playcalling and OL are the biggest issues on this offense and Napier is the one who refused to address either area.

    The ONLY way the Gators will be able to move forward in a positive and productive manner is with a REAL head coach. You’re absolutely correct on: 1) Miami was more prepared, 2) Miami was much more physical on both sides of the ball, 3) Miami even used a few trick plays. Florida was 0 for 3 on all of the above.
    Whose fault is that? Whose fault is it that they run the same fucking scheme and plays against EVERY team?
    The head coach HAS to be fired soon if you expect any hope to a winning season for 2024 or 2025. One final point, with all of these failures, it’s not fair to the players not to be coached properly. By the way, we all heard Cam Ward won’t be able to handle the intensity of the Swamp. Really? Cam Ward played with so much confidence and was at ease, it looked like he was playing QB at a neighborhood pick up game. I saw the infamous Swap, get drained.

    Listen. I'm just gonna be honest with you all and I'm sure I'll get some hate but this is just how I feel about this situation. I'm a Kentucky fan. Do you all know how much us Kentucky fans used to dread seeing Florida on our schedule? How much we hated that game? How we just knew that Florida had 10x the talent and we were gonna get killed? Florida was elite. Florida was going to kill us. Not beat us, kill us. That's how I, a fan of another school, viewed Florida. Now? Kentucky has been the better coached team. Now, Kentucky has a winning streak against Florida. Now, Kentucky fans expect to win this game.
    I like to believe I'm a pretty rational fan. I am in no way saying Florida can't and will not beat Kentucky at the swamp this year. I'm saying there used to be a time, not that long ago might I add, that even us Kentucky fans penciled in an L on the schedule before the season started. Now, we believe we can win and have won. Florida needs to get Napier out of there now. That's just my opinion. Florida has too much talent to be struggling the way they are.

    That “ we weren’t creative enough” answer just doesn’t work here. The truth is, we don’t have the players, especially on the line of scrimmage where we were completely beaten. If you look at our schedule, we are going to be lucky to win four games with the line of scrimmage we have. just look at how much Miami has improved along the O and D line and how much we have regressed. And yes, we were sloppy and yes, the plays were unimaginative, etc. But it doesn’t matter if you can’t block and tackle-that’s the whole ball game and we don’t have it!

    I’m sorry to say that I wasn’t surprised by the performance on Saturday. After the Utah game last year I had no confidence that Billy could prepare a football team at this level. So, my prediction for the season was 3 or 4 wins. Billy has consistently “over” sold and the team has “underperformed “. He takes responsibility and that’s great but how about some improvement? In year 1 we had a top 5 NFL draft pick at QB and NFL caliber linemen and that was our best year under Billy. We have talented players but anyone at that level? Who knows? The players aren’t put in positions that maximize their potential and I am sorry but that is 100% on the staff. I wanted this team to grow and improve but given the track record I just didn’t see it. Napier's pre-season boasts remind me of Jim McElwain's praise of the Gators' "dramatically improved" offensive line before it was destroyed by Michigan's defense in the 2017 season opener. And we know how that worked out for McElwain.

    Really, it's just this simple Nothing personal, but Napier hasn't put these kids in a good position to be successful for the past 3 years... We have declined each year under his leadership!! What does it take for Strickland to get his head out his butt and see this is not what's best for the team or the program!!! If Strickland doesn't see that then he can go with Napier as well... The proof is in the pudding

    I watched the game, and i rewatched the game. UF ran too many plays at the line of scrimmage when Miami had the box stacked. They never attacked downfield when they should have. UF also had a few penalties at the worst possible times.

    It's very weird that nationally recognized coaches become completely ineffective at UF. Corey Raymond - reported to be a DB guru but 2 years at UF and no one seemed to improve. Ron Robert's - innovative defensive coach and the defense was worse. The players appeared to be unprepared which raises the question of what these coaches are doing. Offensive line 'coaches' seem to think the right side of the line doesn't exist. Fired the defensive coaches without change so what good would getting rid of Sale be? That's the question I'd like to see answered, what's happening to all the coaches he hires?

    Sorry Ali, you haven't been paying attention. Yeah, the first series seemed to go well last year. Problem is, like you said, we all knew what was coming on certain downs and distances. So of course opposing DC's are going to figure that out as well. Instead of worrying about changes that might be made, you should start making some content on the one change that needs to be made. Billy fed you a line of BS all offseason and you bought it. He's been over his head since he got here. Here is my question for you: what will it take to get Urban Meyer back as the Florida coach? You've had him on. Ask him!

    I am not here to troll.
    I did my fair share of trolling before this game was even played.
    I do want to point out that Florida pundits and fans saying Florida wanted this game more than Miami because Florida's schedule or Billy's hot seat is laughable.
    This game was more about the rivalry and the recruits. Miami absolutely wanted this game just as much as Florida, if not more ! Mario knew the impact this game had on recruiting, and I assure you this game was his #1 priority. Not to mention, Coach Cristobal was a part of this rivalry as well. He knows what it means !
    The other thing I want to point out believe it or not, a lot of Hurricane fans were disappointed in Florida as well !
    I know some fans love a blowout, but there is nothing better than beating your rival in a nail bitter when they are at their best !
    Good luck with the rest of your season !
    Looking forward to a better matchup next year !

During the Biden/Trump debate where Biden got steamrolled, the Democrats made the decision that despite being a great guy it was apparent Biden just wasn’t up to the task, and needed to be replaced. I think you see where I’m going with this.

      @uffootball  2 месяца назад +1

    • @Herb.streitWasRight
      @Herb.streitWasRight 2 месяца назад +1

      @@uffootball no question UF should be good enough to not get blown out at home. Side note, facilities are over rated in this NIL world. Miami put their $100 million football operations center on temp hold and used some of that money for NIL. This decision was clearly the right one: top 7 class after 5-7 and top 4 class after 7-6. At the end of the day, a program needs competent ppl in the building that can evaluate, recruit and develop talent.

That Utah team kept USC from going to the College playoffs by beating them in the PAC 10 championship game. You beat a ranked Tennessee at home in 2023 bad. Gators are still good enough to play like they mean business and surprise teams. No reason to give up on good players, a coaching adjustment and "creativity" in running new plays may pave the way to better outcomes. Napier knows he can run the Gator football program into the ground and he will still walk away with millions and millions of dollars. And for what? For doing a terrible job and insulting Florida fans. Must be nice to do an awful job and walk away with more money than most people could earn in several life times.
