The Pickett play for me will always be bush league. If either of the defenders tried to hit him, it's a 15 yard penalty. He acts like he's going to slide knowing they'll have to pull up.
Every time I see it, it annoys me. And the commentators being excited about it. Like you said if the defender hit him penalty ot should be illegal and an unsportsmanlike flag.
2:23 QB fakes a "knee", the defenders respect the QB's safety and the rules of the game, and do not even touch the QB. The QB then proceeds to keep running. This should be a penalty!!! Unsportsmanlike conduct. 15 yard penalty at point of infraction and loss of down.
@danielpenrodii2389 I mean it is Arkansas, the same team that let West Kentucky just stomped over all them in their home building and Western Kentucky just threw the football all over the place
@danielpenrodii2389 It would have been a big deal if North Texas had blown out or even just beaten literally any other SEC team that season. Arkansas was absolute trash in 2018 and trying to start a complete rebuild. There is more to it than "A G5 spanked a P5". And don't act like North Texas is new to the FBS or something lol
Yep, it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. That was against Florida ffs. That’s a game we want to beat our opponent into submission more so than others.
The reason is simple - the QB is just too valuable these days. An injury can easily cost a complete season. A play like that is risky because if one of the defenders sees it they absolutely hammer the QB who is at that moment just a ball carrier. NFL teams try to minimise such risks as do good college teams with future NFL QBs. The other coordinators follow the successful teams.
No there wouldn't have, because he never signaled for a fair catch, everyone just assumed he had and stopped. The dude never signaled for a fair catch, so he's still eligible to be hit. t6
I remember they have had the celebration rule in grade school 45 years ago! I remember in 8th grade a guy on our football team held the ball out taunting the other team about a yard before he crossed the goal line. The touchdown was called no good and we got yardage penalty, I think it was 15 yards. They may not of had that rule in high school or college yet, but they sure had it in 8th grade almost 50 years ago. I think most of those calls are BS. If it's overt and you get in the other player's face or something I can see it, but I think that call was a little nit-picky.
Not gonna lie fam you be posting the same vids over and over, jus wait till the season or do other sports moments , your name is highlight reel for a reason
Because if it is legal, QBs can begin a slide and, if the defenders commit, go down and get a penalty for a late hit, but if they just stand there, they can stay up. Very dangerous for the QB and defenders.
You forgot to put EA sports faking all of the college 25 buyers out. Game is broken as fuck. How tf is simulation broken in a simulation game? Glitched 99 Ovr in RTG and simulation being broken in Dynasty is crazy, when thats the base of the game for recreational players. But I get it, Ultimate Team is their priority

No shit.
College football needs more of that to keep everyone on their toes 😂❤
That LSU rule is stupid af! give that man a td and c’mon
No why the coaches voted for that rule too.
@@Beebster18 It's still a really dumb rule. Taunting should not negate a touchdown.

UNT absolutely DESTROYED Arkansas that day. It was the wildest game to watch, because I’d never imagine the day my Mean Green spanked a SEC team.

The taunting rule with LSU’s punter TD is some of the most beta 🐱BS I’ve ever seen
Yep, it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. That was against Florida ffs. That’s a game we want to beat our opponent into submission more so than others.
I’m still mad at that a decade later lmao.
That taunting rule is BS. That's not taunting, that's celebrating. Taunting is malicious.
8:09 Dude was like, nah im not going for the ball carrier. Im ramming the gunner full speed 😂
That first one is crazy
Just another reason to love the Mean Green of North Texas!
UK kicker Mansul: Coach that TD run was the best moment of my entire football career, but don't ever call that play again!
Teaches everyone a lesson. Never stop until you see it's surely a dead ball, or hear the whistle.
3:33 That’s an old school bootleg. You used to see those quite a bit. I have always wondered why those disappeared.
Must be more difficult to pull off so teams don’t risk it. That play gets blown up big time if someone on the defense sees.

NFL teams should do these

TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA, THE CLOSET I'LL EVER BE AROUND IT'S THE WEDNESDAY OF THE TEXAS STATE FAIR AKA RED RIVER RIVALRY!!
As an Oklahoma Sooners fan, I go to that game every year
Picket pulled that same move on the steelers.🙃
Never understood how a holder with knee down is allowed to run in college football.
Looks like he was squatting?
There would have been a 15 yard penalty against the kicking team if they plowed through that first guy.

I was at the Arkansas game and met DJ Williams
i think if a QB fakes a slide then keeps running the defense on the next play gets to rough the QB and no flag.
The rules should state that if you intentionally appear to give yourself up, then the play is dead. The play is over.
I saw the Fla State vs Clemson "punkrooskie" live. One of the greatest!

Brad Wing had the FIRST TD overturned with the new taunting rule. An Australian PUNTER was the first player to lose a TD for taunting.
You have two NDSU plays but don't include SDSU snap between the legs?
Taunting in football is ridiculous!
I didnt realize Villanova had a football team lol
