They were known as the best live band in the world in this era.. this is a pretty good example of why. If there was a single concert at any time or place that I could go to, it would be this one. Three brothers and their best mates playing bangers up on stage together, and you're spot on, it shows. They're just up there having fun and taking us along for the ride. My next request batch is gonna have to be the rest of this concert ;)
Michael Hutchence was the absolute pinnacle of front men, every chick in that audience wanted to do him, every guy either wanted to do him, or to BE him. Unreal levels of charisma, and a life that tragically ended in suicide just 6 short years later.

Michael was an incredible front man. That guy prowled the stage like a lion in heat - truly an astonishing performer.
Pronounced 'In Excess'. I saw them back in the 80's. Their first US show. Opened for Adam Ant. The show was in a community college gym with the bball hoop hanging over the stage. They were SO good.
When they performed Elegantly Wasted on the Rosie O’Donnell show in ‘97-not long before Michael’s death obviously-Rosie brought up that particular show and mentioned that she was there!

Michael is known as one of the greatest front men ever. Now you know why. They just happened to be one of the premier live bands of that time period. They were tight as hell and his voice never wavered. You could pick anything off of Live Baby Live (long I live, as in a live performance) and it will be a vibe and top notch musicianship wise.

Great Australian band, I saw them in the early days before they became famous internationally. Michael was a softly spoken shy man but when he got on stage he was wild, Michael is sorely missed

I saw INXS at The Portsmouth City Hall in 1991 when they did a small gigs tour! They were a huge stadium band but did this tour and me and several mates got to the front of the City hall and they were the best band I’ve ever seen like!! Just incredible 👏👏👏👏

Micheal Hutchence was a legend a incredible frontman! I miss him like so many fan’s! This was filmed at Wembley Stadium paid for by INXS for prosperity they were at the top of the world at this time this whole concert was off the chain just perfect in every way! Nice request. Michael Hutchences' star status couldn't protect him from the darkness any more than it did members of the 27 club. Much missed, but his legacy lives on.

"In excess" is how it is pronounced.
They kind of came in with the new wave in the early 80s (though I think they formed in the last 70s) but unlike an REM or U2, they worked dance rhythm into their music from the start. I guess they and Talking Heads have something in common there, though Talking Heads was kind of like an older brother to these bands who came along after. I listened to these guys a lot in junior high and high school. They're kind of a "chick band" but I didn't really care. I liked the music.

The band did this gig for virtually nothing as their manager, the late great Chris Murphy, put so much money into the production, cameras and helicopters 🚁 to film. Just as well, as this Wembley is no longer around and shows Inxs at their best

@@TeezMcGee its understandable. First time I saw their poster on my cousins wall sometime in the late 80s, my 8 year old brain pronounced it 'Inks', and it took me awhile to tie it together with 'In Excess' that everyone kept talking about.
