    I think you could tighten up your cube just a little bit. Because it seems a bit like its too lose when you try to turn with a bit more force. (So it doesnt overshoot and you dont have to be more careful with your turning) Trust me, I did the same thing, and it just helped me to get faster. Cubeheads video on tymons cubesetting helped me a lot in this regard. So I think this experience should hopefully apply to you too.

    Thanks for this great video! I am now changing my M slice fingertricks (roux main here) so my times are slower, but that doesn't matter because a few months ago I learnt to do M moves with my left hand because it should be better so now I'm staying motivated to adapt to my new M slice fingertricks!

      I teached my friends how to solve a Rubiks cube and when they started getting better, I tried teaching them new algorithms but they didnt do it in solves. This wasnt a problem for me, if I learned something I would do it in my solves, and it didnt matter if the solve was slower because of it. And some days later my avrg times got back and I learned a new thing. I don't know why my friends dont do this.

    Great video! What I like to do when using an alg trainer is do the scramble without looking at the cube, then start the timer as soon as I look at the cube. That way, the time includes recognition.

      The only problem I find with this is that most of the time I lookahead into oll/Coll and already know that its gonna be a dot case or an L case ... But if I use your strategy I have a longer pause. But without that, it's a great idea!

    If you want to recognize plls faster you could learn 2 side pll recognition. this helps a lot when you learn it and get used to it, and there are 2 side pll recognition trainers that you can use once you've learned it, but i would recommend learning full pll first.

    • @UK_Cuber
      @UK_Cuber  Год назад

      Yeah, this would really help

    • @projectflea9905
      @projectflea9905 Год назад

      My method of learning faster Pll recognition was that every time I get to Pll, I stop and just look at 2 sides until I figure out what it is, and I did this in every solve until I got faster. Nowadays some Pll is just too hard from 2 sides so I look on the other side and that way I know what it is.

    • @hcthepro1200
      @hcthepro1200 Год назад

      @@projectflea9905 Agreed 2SPLL recog is worth it for most cases and getting good recog for most but some cases are absolute ass

    • @bpcubes
      @bpcubes Год назад

      @@projectflea9905 In my opinion trying to recognize pll from 2 sides intuitively is quite hard. [Depending on the case] Thats why watching a video that shows you what to look for can make it a lot easier, and using a trainer to make recognizing cases faster, and after practicing it a lot it can become faster than just looking at the other side.

    • @projectflea9905
      @projectflea9905 Год назад

      @@bpcubes I understand, and I tried it before too, but it didnt help me improve on it faster, and it's the same with OLL, when I started learning it I found myself things to remember for example the V perm or A perm where if it matches it's A perm, or there's an OLL that goes like this: R U R' U' R' F R2 U R' U' F'
      when I learned it I instantly found SexySledge movecancel into F sexy F'
      but when my friend tried to learn it he couldn't notice it. And when I told him he learned it so easily.
      But my real problem is with OLL recognition and I think that's why I'm not sub 10 only sub 12 and I don't know how to improve on that.

  • @arester3686

  • @calebgizaw6581
    @calebgizaw6581 Год назад

    I’ve noticed that some of your OLL cases require many algorithms which can be done with only one. I don’t know if you are just more comfortable with these algorithms, but if you watch J Perm’s video, It shows some faster ways to do it.

    • @UK_Cuber
      @UK_Cuber  Год назад

    i think you should work on f2l recognition because in the solve on 3:07, it took you 3 seconds to realise you had a 3 move back insert. Also you could work on your fingertricks and algs for oll with the fish case and pi case

    What you are doing is turning near as fast as you can. Something to help this is slowing down your turning until you have no pauses(last layer doesn't count). This tip singlehandedly got me to sub-13.

    I think your turning style is holding you back because its very blocky so try and flow into every turn which will allow you to turn faster, and lookahead better. Also learn U2 double flicks. If you watch any top cuber they turn quite smoothly like Feliks and Tymon, even Yiheng. These people all have good turning styles.
    At 3:28 that solution is horrible for the red-blue pair ecspecially when you rotated into the front to solve it. Notice how you had to also rotate back to see what the green-orange pair was which is a sign of a poor rotation choice. Just do (y U' R' U R U' R' U' R) instead of what you did. This also rotates so it's a backslot so you can see the front of the cube where your last pair is.
    At your level you should also know full OLL, at 4:22 you had a really easy OLL but you did 2-look instead. from the angle you did it it's just (r U R' U' R U2 r') which would have made the solve better than 16 easily. Also another thing about that solve you rotated to the front for your first F2L pair, never do that ecspecially because you had a free pair for the other front slot, so you rotated twice for you third pair. Also with the Aperm in that solve do D2 double flicks with either your pinky then ring, or ring then middle fingers.
    At 4:40 the the OLL alg you did is much slower than (R U2 R2 U' R2 U' R2 U2 R) which is held from the angle that you did it.
    I hope all this helps!

    Great video!
    But, your fingertricks are bad, they slow your solves down the most.
    Try to use the 'tip' of your fingers when solving. Jayden McNeill has a video about this on his RUclips. Its called: 'Why you suck at turning.'
    I also highly recommend to read his blog, it made me like 2 seconds faster in a week (I'm sub 12 now).
    I know you probably think that f2l efficiency is your biggest issue. It isn't, learning new cases and algorithms are useless if your fingertricks are bad.
    I recommend you drill all your algs with the best possible fingertricks and truly focus on them throughout your solves.
    Also learn more f2l cases with the best fingertricks. At you best solve you showed at the end were some cases that, if you knew them, probably could've given you a sub-10.
    This comment may seem a bit harsh but that's not my intention 😅. I just want to help you improve in the best way possible.
    It was a great video and if you implement your own steps you explained on the issues I pointed out, you'll improve a lot.

    3 mistakes i’ve seen you make:
    1. No Doublefliks
    2. Pi algorithm used was f (R U R’ U’) f’ F (R U R’ U’) F’, a better algorithm is R U2’ R2’ U’ R2 U’ R2’ U2’ R
    3. The PLL fingertricks had too many regrips. I would recommend watching som of BrianSun’s and Jperm’s fingertricks tutorials.

    1:54 oll can be done regripless try to execute it like R U2' R2' F R F' R U2' R'
    for the orange blue f2l at 2:45-2:48 you can do U R' F R F' R' U' R
    probably learn to predict auf for pll as well
    4:00 third pair blue red can be solved by doing R U' R' U' R U' R' then Insert with L U2 L' rather than rotating twice
    the next pair right after that can be done without F moves really fast by doing R U' R' U' R U R'
    4:37 U' R' F R F' R U' R' is a slightly faster solution that preserves edge orientation as well
    in the solve you showed at the end third pair can be done slightly faster doing
    y U' R' U R U' R' U' R which is 8 moves your solution had a rotation and 10 moves so it's a bit slower
    good video and good day
    also nice I appeared on the video yay although it was my previous account
