Wish it was a sea horse, that would have been amazing. It was just a slug of some sort, but very friendly 😁 Bit hard to see in the video unfortunately. The GoPro isn't really designed for close ups.
@jarnosaarinen4583 If you would like to see Seahorses or Weedy Sea Dragons in the wild, go diving at Jarvis Bay. It's so far the only place I've dived in NSW that had hundreds of them in the one area (not exaggerating) - this was around Jan/Feb time frame. Outside the heads of Sydney you rarely see them - if at all. You see more Cuttlefish or nudibranch etc. But rarely seahorses / weedy sea dragons.
NIce one, I'm a Central Coast local at Long Jetty and I'm impressed at how well you covered most of the beaches. The Central Coast is a huge area and there is so much more to see a little inland if you've got the time to explore. Van life kinda looks annoying having to deal with noisy neighbor's but it's good way to explore an area.
Thanks Levi 😊 There's certainly a lot to see around the area. I've spent a lot of time around here and done quite a few videos on the area now. Van life does have some annoyances, but on the whole, it's worth it!😁
Great to see you back in my neck of the woods. I'm yet to ride the new and recently opened extended bike track between Canton Beach and The Entrance. I'm looking forward to doing it soon. I've regularly done the ride around Budgewoi Lake, but I'm yet to do a complete lap of Tuggerah Lakes. Only bits and pieces of it from various areas around it. I'll need to pull the finger out and do it.
That new section of track is worth riding just to marvel at the amount of work they put in to it 😂 Glenn mentioned in the comments the Tuggerah Lake is about 50km for him....going to take me a while before I'm ready to tackle that 😁
Another great video Jason. Coffee in hand and watching with inspiration. The thing that really hits home, with your videos - apart from the great cinematography and your narration - is the reality of van life; and that it isn't always that rosey! The people factor these days, no matter where you go, there are so many of us. Everywhere is so crowded and the Yahoo factor, naturally enough, has increased over the years - or am I just getting old and grumpy? But, still a great lifestyle. Have fun and I'll be looking forward to your next video. Cheers, Sean.
Thanks Sean. I think it's just like you say...there are so many more people now that the amount of antisocial individuals has increased accordingly. Just reading some news stories this morning about all the schoolies going crazy on beaches everywhere 🙄 that time of the year!
Hi Jason, I hope you didn't mind me giving you a "physical thumbs up" as I walked past your van at Terrigal Headland this morning. The weather was absolutely wild with 50 km winds. Thanks for the beautiful videos that you produce!
Thanks for showing my neck of the woods, I did a loop of tuggerah lake a few weeks back 51km garage door to garage door...I did notice all the droplets I though it was moisture from the trees as I started early moring. Thanks Urrhh..The new section bike path is very impressive with flyovers ect ..I have a mountain bike with my own 48volt electric conversion to make life a little easier...That same battery also runs my 48volt scooter and I have created a 48v to 12v stepdown box (turning the 20amp 48v to 80amp 12v) so the battery can act as an emergency back up to my caravan or I can run my car fridge on day trips...Cheers enjoy the area.
Sounds like a good battery set up. Nice to have everything interchangeable. I'd love to ride that loop, but 50km is but out of my current fitness level 😂
Hi Jason, as a Central Coast boy for over 50 years I find it fascinating seeing the coast thru your eyes, I hope you go down to Bouddi National Park and do the coastal walk from/to Maitland Bay to/from Kilcare, and over to Warrah lookout near Patonga, cheers, Garry
Morning! The drone images just bring the beauty of the shore and ocean out! No wonder you want to fly. I love the underwater pictures though...maybe you can take up scuba diving!
Hi Daisy 😁 Yeah, I'd like to do some scuba diving at some point. Need a lot of gear though, so not sure I'd do it more than a few times. No room in the van for tanks and stuff 😂
You like the beach - all good - my last trip in the van was up to Tamworth and down through Bulga and Broke - ( also through the Artesian Basin ) a lot less yahoos and great scenery.
I know what you mean about “all the stupid” when Christmas rolls around. Living most of my time in a holiday town it’s nice that it brings tourism into the town but man it can get annoying. When mum is not around anymore we plan to be away every time the silly season comes around! Best to bunker down during the holidays. It’s the worst time to be roaming around unless you are in a remote area. Finding parking/accomodation is even more painful, all the scenic spots and walks are busy, and everything is ridiculously priced. I’ll be around Norah Head between Christmas and NY as my sister and her family are not that far away. It’s a nice area. Thanks for the video.
Thanks Tony😊 It struck me how busy Forster was when I was the last month and I remember how packed it used to get over Christmas....with so many more people there as a baseline, it should be interesting in a few weeks... I think heading to Melbourne after Christmas isn't a bad idea. North isn't an option!😁
Another engaging video, Jason. Thank you. I have to say, the DJI Neo produces some great video. Seems very smooth. Or do you employ some editing tricks to get it like that? Do you use the RC-N3 controller with it. I was also wondering what the effective flying range of it is. Do you try to always keep it in sight? Peter
Thanks Peter. I do adjust the colour on the Neo footage as it is a little washed out in bright conditions, but no image stabilisation. The footage is pretty good, though you have to fly it smoothly as well as it jerks sometimes if you aren't smooth on the controls. Max flight distance is about 2.1km in total, then it runs out of battery. I don't send it much more than 500m away from me. You can see it as it's so small...once it's about 100m away, it's out of sight. I have lost communication with it a few times when flying around cliffs. Fortunately it started its return home routine and I regained control, but best to avoid flying around corners! Yes, I have the RC N3 controller for all the long flights. Only the follow flights are done without a controller. I find the picture quality not as good as the GoPro, whereas the DJI mini 3 that my son has is equivalent to the GoPro. But it doesn't have the autonomous features.
@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces Thanks for the input, Jason. I am thinking of getting one each for my two grandsons. I'd love to get one for myself too but I'd be unable to fully utilise and play with it at the moment.
Hiya Jason, just reading through the comments, looks like u have a lot of followers which is nice as what u share is wonderful. Wondering how long you have been on the road?
Hi Pete. Yeah, it's nice to have people interested in my day to day. I also meet quick a few followers while out and about which surprises me. Been on the road for just over a year now.
Hey Jason - we saw your van parked at North Shelly Beach parking - we were there for the Christmas Santa photos on the beach. I was thinking to come by to say hello but didn't wanna knock on the van in case you were resting :D
Hope you enjoyed the cool change last night! Here in Wingham, at our beautiful spot, we can see a front coming up from Forster, right at us! Sorry you had to put up with so much batshit at Wingham Brush!
Thanks Annie. I was filming the front coming over Terrigal last night. Hopefully got some good shots. It was actually very pleasant by the coast yesterday. Cool enough that I didn't even want to swim 😂 Seeing all the bats fly off at sunset was well work getting crapped on! 😁👍
Hi Jason, The controller you are using for your drone is it using your iPhone for the screen or does it have its own screen, and are you happy with it ? Your answer to these questions will make my decision of which to purchase a lot less stressful. Thank you in appreciation. Leith
Hi Leith. Have a look at the reply to Peter in this video. Pjpw2330i think his user name is. The RCN3 is a cost compromise. It's $200 more for the one with built in controller. Yes that would be more convenient, but mine works fine. I use an Android phone, but it works with iPhone I believe. There are heaps of video reviews and comparisons of the DJI Neo on RUclips. If you don't want a drone that will follow you autonomously, then get the Mini 3 instead as it has better picture quality.
Season' greetings. is that right down from avoca street of the old prince of wales children hospital randwick? could you do a sunset of manley beach. thanks.
Really depends what you want to do with it. Mine is a DJI Neo. Very robust, can fly by itself and very small. DJI mini 3 has better picture quality and will handle higher wind, but is more fragile. I'm considering buying one of these as well 😂
@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces maybe a few videos on drone handling would be good. Your scenic views are spectacular. And the underwater component. How are you doing that. I scuba dived for 30 years until all my gear got stolen 😢

No, they lock the gates at night. Plus it's too popular....you'd never be able to sleep 😁 There's several places close by that many people stay at overnight, so plenty of options.
So envious, you are living the life I always wanted, thanks for sharing Jason, absolutely spectacular, love it!
Thanks Josephine. I'm very fortunate to be able to do this and it fantastic to be able to share it with everyone! 😊
That was good spotting, don't think I've ever seen a Sea Horse in the wild before! @14:41. Always a good watch Thanks Jason!!

@fatmanoverlanding I'd imagine you'd need to be fairly deep to see them? I'd love to see some....even cuttlefish 😁

Hi Newt girl here too. Where do you stay at Catho Bay. The car parks don’t allow campers. It’s my favourite blue space.
