I'm from Sydney, and I'm really enjoying following your journey around our great country. I love the central coast too. Such a beautiful way to spend some time. You both are such a nice couple too. Looking forward to your next post.
@@GlenAndMadoEspecially at ocean beaches, always swim between the [yellow and red] flags as that denotes a patrolled area that is deemed safe for swimming at that point in time. It’s a little different for strong swimmers who have grown up in the surf, but for those such as yourselves it’s always the best place to swim. If you want to better understand the conditions and any potential hazards you are fearful about, go and have a chat to the lifeguards on duty and hopefully they can allay your fears. By far your biggest danger is a rip current. There’s a great little video called something like “How to spot a rip” or “Can you spot a rip” which is well worth a look. Enjoy those gorgeous beaches 🏖️
I grew up going to our holiday house in Avoca for all school during 70 & 80's and right up until we sold in 1994. Only been back once since then. Geez it has grown. So many more shop and houses than when we were there. Still my favourite beach though. We were in the Avoca Beach nippers. Fond memories of the carnivals at Avoca, Copacabana, The Entrance, Terrigal, Caves Beach. Will have to take a drive up there one weekend. Thanks for the memories.
Enjoy living the life we Aussies sadly sometimes take too much for granted. Some tips from a local Sydneysider: 1. Blue Mountains is a must. Followed by the Southern Highlands around Kangaroo Valley, the Snowy Mountains, and the Brindabellas. 2. Best beaches on the East Coast NSW.: a) Jervis Bay b) Port Macquarie c) Yamba/Iluka d) Foster & Tuncurry e) Anywhere south of Batemens Bay. f) Kiama g) Byron and surrounds. 3. If you want mind-blowing coastal scenery then K'gari (formerly Fraser Island), the Whitsundays, Ningaloo Reef, the Great Ocean Road, Kangaroo Island, all of Tasmania, Mallacoota, and the Coorong. The Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast for different reasons... Enjoy your explorations! Remember that you're only a few hours flight from Vanuatu, Fiji, and Rarotonga (Aitutaki)!
Heard about avoca beach but never been. I live in Sydney for 40 years but I don’t have time to explore my own backyard. But I’ve been to so many countries around the globe. Lovely couple.
The family used to go to Avoca every summer 1979 thru the '80's. We stayed at the apartments that now have a wire fence round them, and we'd always stay in the top left one. The Cinema was open and we'd see - I think it was "Fantasia" for the first time. Brother and I would buy kites and have dogfights until there was no tail left. Also wed build a model plane of some sort to keep us out of mischief. North Avoca rocks had run off place which we'd spend hours damming off with rocks. Enjoy your travels!
Time to come south to Wollongong and Kiama mate. Make sure if you go to Wollongong, go the extra 25 minutes to Kiama. I promise you, we won't disappoint you!
Love your commentary of our wonderful country. I am lucky enough to live on the Central coast, about 25 mins south of Avoca and yes it is a wonderful lifestyle. ❤
You should have seen Avoca McMasters and Copacabana Beaches 50 years ago just a few old homes, an old bakery you could smell for miles, and a narrow windy road to Erina or Terrigal we used to catch huge crabs in the lake as kids and go over to the Kincumber wharf for some fishing. We used to stay at 10 Avoca drive in the '60s and 70's for Christmas and New Year opposite the Caravan Tent Park next to the old cinema . The little shop was at the park behind the Surf Club and sold local Carnival and Lakeland Ice cream . Go for a wal around the rocks behind the rock pool and cross the gap ,it has carved out hand and foot grips there made about 60 years ago.
Been In Australia, Sydney for 21 years (originally from Northumberland UK) I love my country and watching your travels make us all re-appreciate how beautiful NSW is. Don't forget to go to Fingal Bay.
What a lovely place. Thanks for doing such great little tours of beautiful NSW and making vlogs of your travels. I'll be going to the Central Coast for the Rolling Sets festival next month. Looking forward to it! :D
Good to see you guys are enjoying this beautiful country of ours, the north coast has some amazing beaches but i love the south coast more which is close to home for me, the beaches in jervis bay are are stunning, callala beach is a favourite place for us, beautiful white sand and clear water, loving the content from you guys.
Yes but more “happening” in Milton/Mollymook a bit further south. My friends who live in Huskisson are always coming down here because there is more to do…
The golden beach sand on the east coast always amazes me especially Newcastle beaches, no glare ! I live on the West coast and all our beaches are snow white sand which can be hard on your eyes at certain times of the day. European beaches are really different with I think the Amalphi coast being a bit on the extreme end, just smooth pebbles of volcanic rock. My wife as with every beach in our travels still managed to shape a dolphin much to the interest of the locals. That was good 🇦🇺👍
Its the beaches that you won't hear much about that are the best. Bouddi National Park is just south of Avoca and the coastal walk is stunning. On the walk you’ll get to Maitland Bay. It's a stunning beach with only walk-in access. On it's best days, it is incredible
Great viewing, love this so much. I have been traveling to beaches all over Australia during my long life. The Whitsundays, Broome, Darwin, Perth, Moruya 🥰, in and around every state, yet so many I will never get to see before I die. They say that if you travel to a new beach every day, it will take you 27 years! 😍
If you get a chance, visit Forster on the NSW north coast - it's a couple of hours north of Gosford. Small holiday town but stunning. Beaches, lakes, dolphins etc.
Thanks again for tuning in for another video! We always appreciate you coming back to support us 🙌 your totally right the sun is pretty intense right now and we are getting cooked 😂 it’s nearly 40 where we are now
Avoca was the holiday houses for the rich from northern beaches back 20-25 years ago. Makes me wonder what become of it. Forster one mile beach is a classic. Seal rocks is not far up the coast either. Endless beaches of this equivalent Australia wide 😅
Hi Glen and Mado when you are done in NSW You must come north of the border to Queensland. From Tweed Heads to Tewantin you will see 200 miles of the finest beaches and scenery in the world. The sand is extremely fine and it is almost white !The Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast are World Famous.

Tick also going to Kiama.. wait for a favourable wind direction for the blowhole. Note its a very nice journey but bring a towel or something to cushion the backside and get up and walk for a bit every now and again.
Guys definitely hit the northern beaches. Start off with Churchpoint and West Head lookout.. amazing views then head to Palm Beach where they film Home and Away. Better and quieter beaches
Please please spend more time exploring the Central Coast. We have some of the nicest beaches in NSW. Blue Bay, Soldiers Beach, Cabbage Tree Bay, Hargraves Beach, Catherine Hill Bay, Caves Beach, Lake Macquarie, Tuggerah Lakes, Watagan Mountains. These places are clean, quiet and beautiful. And when you head north don't miss Trial Bay.
I suggest checking out Pearl beach to Warrah lookout walk and Patonga creek especially on a kayak is great. Terrigal is a real tourist area, nice beach town. Umina Beach markets are good and Avoca markets. Kariong waterfall trough is beautiful destination once you are there but a very dangerous cliffside water feature. Somersby reptile park, Somersby falls (after rain) all nice. Ettalong Beach to Palm beach ferry, with a stop at the Newport arms, a look at Home and away beach and then a walk up to the lighthouse is a good day out.
Man, just down near the surf club is some nice spots, also a great theatre with impressive live bands/ shows Avoca Theatre worth checking out. And when the markets are on 🎉

Every beach you visit in your travels is better than the last one. Shark attacks are rare and are mostly to divers spear fishing or surfers. As summer approaches you should be heading south, as winter approaches you should go north.
That's an INSANELY expensive market! $13 for a loaf of bread, and it's not even that big. 3 avo's for $10 AND they're in season?! They gotta be joking. Markets are not supposed to be that expensive. Crazy. I highly recommend visiting the South Coast as well, particularly Ulladulla/Milton/Mollymook/Burill Lake area. 4 hours south of Syd. SO much to do, many cafes for your coffee and restaurants and bars, lovely shops for Mado to window shop. It's quite a health conscious area so you'll find lots of health food shops/cafes but best of all the most spectacular beaches. Rennies Beach in Ulladulla (a tourist, surfing, fishing town) was voted cleanest beach in Australia twice. The whitest, squeakiest sand. So many beautiful coves and headland walks. Then you've got the mountains and rainforest 20min inland. The best fish n chips in Burrill Lake! They catch the fish right there in the morning. It's really a stunning area with even better beaches than the North coast. Truly. Most of the time you will have a whole beach to yourself almost. You definitely will enjoy it.
I noticed the $13 price tag too! 😳 I haven’t shopped at markets for a few years now, but did notice the price was always much higher than at regular shops. While nice to support home grown and home made, there comes a time for some of us when it becomes too much.
Your living a good life then is your living around near bondi 😜 anyways your totally right we have definitely noticed the difference on the Gold Coast 🙂
😲Cool, That u guys visited close to me, I’m from Copacabana the next beach over from Avoca, you guys should check out Copacabana too, the prime minister of Australia recently bought a house there. Enjoying the videos:)
Don’t worry about sharks, the riskiest thing we do is driving on the road. Do though pay attention to crocodile and box jellyfish warnings when you go north
most expensive propertires in central coast are in macmasters beach & Wagstaffe 13 - 16 million on 1000sqm to 1500sqm block ! penthouse apartment sold in terrigal beach 8 million
I hope you make it to the national capital. People will tell you how awful it is, but they've probably never been there. It's a really interesting and unique place. Although it *is* a couple of hours from the beach
I recognise Sydney is situated in a stunningly pictuesque location, although I can't help but think how much nicer the area must have been before a dirty city was built on it. Never the less, I suspect you are starting to realise how much better Australia is away from the huge cities
Hi folks. Allow me to give you a valuable tip, especially with regard to Glenn after seeing how this video has started. Flies are super annoying and thick in the Australian warm months, dark coloured shirts attract flies, white /light coloured shirts not so much by a huge margin. Also cotton material or cotton/polyester blends are much better in hot temps as they are breathable and don't hold onto sweat. Have a good stay in Australia.
U need to learn to save the beach and sun... Go to Umina and have lunch at Oceah Beach Surf club or Umina on is nice aswell...looking over to Palm Beach were the Popular Home and away if filmed....😮😮😮 Want until U go to Anna Bay is nice and other beaches... Buy her a hat for the sun...😂❤😂❤

To think that 236 years ago the Brits sent their convicts here for punishment, of cause they didn't have much time to enjoy the place has they faced the lash etc...
