    Your videos are so much more than metal detecting. You are great at explaining to us what you see, why you pick certain spots, and of course, proper detecting etiquette. Thank you.

    A special silver-plated spoon you found Harry M. Stephens 1856-1934. In 1887 he founded H.M.Stephens Inc. was a food ballpark concessionaire, He sold German Sausages known as dachshund sausages at the New York Giants game April 1901 he ran out of wax paper had one of his employees buy some buns..Place the hot dogs in the buns Today know as the hot dog A cartoonist who was at the game didn't know how to spell Dachshund, so wrote hot dogs instead. We hated badgers almost as much. When I was growing up on the ranch, We had a badger dig into the side of our biggest irrigation ditch, it wound up blowing out and ruining several acre of wheat field. We called the game warden who came and live trapped it and moved it to another location. In the old days gramps would have just shot it.

    The worst thing about groundhog and gopher holes is in the spring when the calves are running around like goof balls playing with each other and put their foot in one. Then you have a calf that cant walk very well that you have to catch and try and find out whats wrong etc etc

    I tell you Beau if you were out West near eastern Washington, I would swear you were finding my grt. grandpa's twin brothers wood stove. Maybe the poor fellow lost his stove the very same way?! I put the newspaper article below. This truly happened!
    The Dalles times-mountaineer (newspaper) The Dalles, Oregon December 17, 1892
    Walla Walla, Washington Dec. 10 James O'Donnell, residing on Upper Dry creek, 10 miles from the city, had an unpleasant experience with giant powder. He was using tbe powder to dig a well. Thursday morning he found tbe powder was frozen up. Placing a stick on the stove to thaw, he sat down by the stove to read, when suddenly there was a terrific explosion, which knocked him off the chair onto the floor. When he recovered from his dazed condition he found the stove scattered all over a 10 acre field, no piece being larger than his hand, and the cabin almost as badly demolished. O'Donnell escaped injury.

      Lesa Hanners, awesome story!
      btw, were you named after the character of the same name in the book The Dragon Riders Of Pern, by Anne McCaffrey?

    • @lesahanners5057
      @lesahanners5057 6 лет назад +1

      Sadly no, I was born in 1959, before the Pern saga's came out. My Dad named me after my identical twin sister. Her name is Linda Lee, she was born first. He was stumped as to what to name me so took the first two letters of her middle name, and the first three letters of her first name, and I became Lesa Lin. He thought he was a comedian. Bullies in school used to chant at us, Linda Lesa, Linda Lesa, Linda Lesa, until I beat them up. LOL
      I love science fiction tho, so maybe I should just fib and say I am from the The Dragon Riders of Pern. It would make for a much better story. ; - )

    • @lesahanners5057
      @lesahanners5057 6 лет назад +3

      Well that name has certainly added interest to it. LOL
      I think bad comedians ran in the family. My grt. grandpa's name was John, together with his identical twin brother James, they were known as the, "Sons of Thunder", much like the Biblical brothers. However, their father was so wealthy back in the day, he was known as, "King James." Too bad the money evaporated somewhere along the line before I was born. LOL
      This same bunch were rather wild, which is why they had a cemetery for horse thieves on their property. I kid you not!

Harry Stevens died in 1934 and was one of the foremost ballpark concessionaires in the United States. P.s he emigrated from England to Ohio in the 1880s.

    Love the sound of them trains that keep finding you... LOL... Every night around 2am or so I can hear the faint sound of the train horn about 4 miles away... Love that sound. As a kid up in the N/w sticks of Missouri on a nice clear quite night if the wind was blowing just right you could hear the lonely sound of a train whistle some 10 or so miles away in the middle of a hot summer's night, We would seek out and sleep on the roof because it was to hot to sleep inside... That was back in the early 60's... Ain't nothing there today but a pile of aches some punks went through the country side sitting all the old houses on fire in the 90's they never caught the punks...

    Harry Mozley Stevens (1856-1934) was a food concessionaire from Derby, England who has been variously attributed[1][2] [3] as the inventor of the hot dog, but has nevertheless been credited with being America's foremost ballpark concessionaire.[3] In 1887 he founded Harry M Stevens Inc., a stadium concessions company which was based in Cranbury, New Jersey until it was acquired by Aramark on December 12, 1994.[4]. Like the Dog tag find, by its shape, not knowing if you are a Vet or not I would like to share the following, I would say that is a post Viet Nam War issue. My first issue had a tooth notch in one end. When we went to using the SSN as our serial numbers I was issued the new style, which is the same shape as the one you found. There are usually 5 lines of text on the newer ones or at least on mine. The Navy tags are 1) Last Name 2) first and middle name 3) service number 4) blood type and gas mask size 5) religion or N/A for those who do not practice a religion. The Army tags were the same except it did not include on line 2) middle name, Initial only, and on line 5) no gas mask size. //es// A Veteran, 1965-1994 USN, USAR & USA
