I've just purchased a set of NGK Glowplugs for my 2016 Trafic. After watching this video, I am now confident enough to replace them myself. Thank you for a great tutorial
Fab help here thanks. Changed all mine since the cold weather began. Ohm test with a multimeter showed 2 were open circuit and one was reading high. Looking forward to testing tomorrow morning 🥶
Ive heard the glow plug relays have a life of around 100k miles so if you have a problem starting in the cold and plugs relatively new could be that. Can test each plug lead in any case.
Brilliant video thanks for taking the time to make it, q if i may any idea what size O ring is from the oil filler tube at top of engine? mine has leaked ever since i bought the van? keep the videos coming mate cheers Paul
Hey 👋 thanks for watching, I don’t know off the top of my head but if you call the main dealer and ask I’m sure they will know or have one for cheap! 👍
Thank you 👍 I've had this job on my list for a while but haven't gotten around to it yet. Have you ever had to change the alternator pulley on these engines? Trying to work out the best way to remove the alternator, it's a bit tight.
That’s great I hope this will help you when you do them ! And I haven’t had one off yet but I’m sure you will be able to squeeze it out the top no problem once it’s all undone. 👍
@@MrAutoFixerI got the glow plugs done yesterday, so again thank you for this video. I also did my front struts the other week too from one of your earlier videos. Top guy, keep up the videos!
@@danielmann534 take the right hand side headlight out , take the top part of the bumper off , a few bits of plastic and lower engine tray and it's more accessible
Yes I agree, I always recommend people get them done every 30-40k at the same time as a service just like spark plugs. Weird how they don’t come on the service schedule from factory . 👍
I take it you didnt look at either the old or new glow plugs operating voltage , they work between 4.5 /7.5 volts , so the first one you tested that blew out was due to you supplying it with 12 volts 😂😂, good job you didnt test the new ones
Hey yes new ones were 4.5 hence not going on the jump pack test, I test the old one on jump pack as they are going in the bin anyway and people like to see how things work 👍 the first one didn’t pop just a bit of carbon got a bit too hot 😂 thanks for watching
mrautofixer, sorry I don’t know your name, I contacted you on here yesterday early evening and I assume the email I sent you this morning went to the correct email address, hope you can get back to me with some definite confirmation you will do my van glow plugs for me , check your emails first my message to you please. Terry 👍👍

Hello
How much would i expect to pay a mechanic to do that on my Vivaro 2018?
Thanks
Hey 👋 I would allow up to £200 for the job inc parts
They should really set a Interval for Replacement as Per Spark Plugs Glowplugs are used for so much more than Cold Engine Start these days.

Had mine replaced as check injection light came on,2 week previously I had a relay replaced for same thing
