You never know what other people have experienced. Confuse, don't abuse.
There's a lot of grey area with what might be triggering vs what you can consider a safe topic... but medical emergencies definitely are the former.
If anything, you should NEVER fake an emergency, because every second can be the difference between life and death, and you don't want people wasting a single one thinking it might be a joke.
My goodness I am so sorry for your loss and experience! As someone who has had to perform CPR on a loved one I completely agree with you! Medical emergencies are NOT prank material period! I would have jumped into action but would have BAWLED my eyes out after the reveal! So not appropriate for Tyra to pull that! It's also VERY dangerous for HER since she set the precedent that she can and WILL fake it, if it happens again but for real, others will now question whether to help, so as to not to end up the gullible one.
Furonda was genuinely worried, she right away asked for water or something to help Tyra out…and all she got was a $5 pink tee with Tyra’s name on it. Lolol There should be a class action lawsuit against Tyra 😂

That’s ironic considering Tyra quit high fashion in her early 20’s because Naomi wouldn’t stop bullying her, according to her.
As a therapist, I think that is very wrong. She probably traumatized those girls. And who knows, some of them may have already had some trauma from seeing a loved one in a medical emergency and this situation would have triggered them. To Tyra, it may have seemed like a little "prank" or "joke", but it can have a significant impact on the people involved who thought it was a real emergency. Like you pointed out in the video, she easily could have done something less extreme.

What's also gross is that we know these girls didn't get much to eat very often on set, so Tyra pretending to be lightheaded and the girls going, "Here, eat some pizza," in such a concerned, nice way just seems disrespectful and cold to me.

As someone with panic attack disorder, this would have triggered one and I'd be done for the day.
The producers have no idea if the girls have been through something traumatic with a person fainting or having a seizure before. It was cruel pretending tyra fainted.
I love Dani's personality and attitude. Her ability to be professional and cordial yet clearly signaling whenever she was over something was great. From her clearly stating that she will not be changing her tooth gap to this mirthless "that was a good job" in this clip... *chef's kiss*
Also, we all know about Tyra's amazing acting ability from her many acting gigs.

I would have been kicked off the show because my knee jerk reaction to someone doing something like this would be to start yelling about how that wasn't cool. Tyra would have gotten an earful and my bags would have been packed. lol

One time I fainted in a grocery store and it was just flat out awful. I thought it would be like in the movies. Instead of a romcom vibe it was me fighting soooo hard to NOT get sucked under the blackness. It left me incredibly weak for days and I borderline blacked out when camping 4 months later.
Fainting isn't "cute" or "romantic" or anything like the movies. It's downright freaking terrifying o.o

I remember that episode and I was thinking my god this is so wild and traumatizing . And after that she gave t-shirt to the girls .
Suggesting to check her pulse was actually really smart. If her heart rate was super elevated, it could mean cardiac arrest. If her heart rate is really slow, it could mean her breathing has slowed down way too much. If it's normal, it could just be low blood sugar (or in this case, fake). Checking her pulse would be a good way to determine what type of help she needs!

I wish youd stop going on about the money. Its a REALITY SHOW. As far as im aware, no contestant gets paid for their first go round on a reality show. So its a completely irrelevant point. Yes they would get paid in the real world, but this isnt the real world, this is a reality show and they knew what they were getting into.
