1. Jump into a Star System After entering a new system, you'll want to scan it to find all the hidden planets, moons, and points of interest. 2. Throttle Down to Zero IMPORTANT: You must be in Supercruise (Frame Shift Drive) and bring your ship to a complete stop (throttle to zero). You can’t use the FSS while moving! 3. Switch to Analysis Mode Hit the Mode Switch button (default: M key) to switch from Combat Mode to Analysis Mode, where exploration tools are available. 4. Activate the FSS Scanner Press the Discovery Scanner button (default: D key) to activate the FSS Scanner interface. 5. Tune and Scan Use the tuning controls (mouse wheel or assigned keys) to scroll through different frequencies. Find signals, center them, and then zoom in (hold right-click or scan button) to reveal the object! 6. Complete the Scan Scan all signals in the system to reveal planets, stars, asteroid belts, and more. Keep going until the system is fully mapped! REMEMBER: Supercruise and full stop are required! Use the FSS to scan and discover everything!
It just seems like a waste when a honk already refused all the planets in the system. And you will want to surface scan the better ones or all of them, which means you will be going closer anyways

Hey pal it does work make sure you are following all steps correctly hope this helps i just tested it for you and it still works fine.
