Inspiration to so many. Your fights in the cage and the way you carry yourself as a good person and family man outside of competition.
THAT is how you leave a legacy that will never die
Thank you DJ
Whaaaat? Is this about Space Marine 2 being released today right? 😂 Good luck on your retirement man. I think you are an anomaly in MMA where everyone likes you. Zero haters bar people you beat. Zero deaths.
Beautiful video, thanks for everything you've done for the sport and enjoy that retirement brother
This is why fighters like mayweather would never have the unanimous admiration of the public like DJ. Not to diminish mayweather at all (helluva fighter 😅) but DJ has lost and avenged that loss in epic fashion. He climbed peak after peak, never ducking, winning on shear skill and passion. It’s not about the perfect record.. DJ is the GOAT because he embodies what it means to be a warrior that will be remembered throughout the ages. Congrats GOAT 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Mayweather isnt helluva fighter, boxer sure but when he started moving up the fight left him. Not to mention the objective cherry picking and never giving guys a second chance to fight him.
That being said DJ is an absolute LEGEND
Thank you for giving young martial artists a perfect role model to aspire towards. Dominant, diverse and clean. Retiring on top, at the right time, for the right reasons. OSS!
Huge respect from Russia, brother, it was such an honor for me to watch your fights! You are true proof of why martial arts has the word "Art"! A true champion, an amazing person - it’s so nice to see you and your family happy! I have no doubt that your future career at YT or whatever you do will be successful! GOAT 100%
Keep your health BB. You are the greatest to ever do it. Legend forever. Thank you for all the amazing moments and will be here for the future ones.

You’r are a true champion and a legend inside and outside that octagon and also a winner in both. Happy retirement to one of, if no the greatest of all times!
Nothing but love and respect to you, Mr. Mouse! Thank you for not tainting the world of martial arts. Your humility, humor, and honor are unmatched and inspirational.
We love you DJ! Thanks for representing the sport and just yourself in the best way. You're the goat and an inspiration.
Thank you DJ you’re one of the reasons I am now training and trying to get my life together. Your impact in the martial arts world will ripple for years to come. Once again thank you can’t wait to see what’s next for you!
You go down in history as the GOAT! done it all the right way no cut corners no cheating and just pure class. Onwards and upwards next chapter can't wait. Thank you DJ ! 😎
Was at the Arena for this- some tears may have been shed. Thank you for an absolutely stellar MMA career and showing us what a true champion is. Your class, integrity, skill, dedication and work ethic are unparalleled in our sport. Thank you, DJ!!! We love you!!! I can not wait to follow what you do next, Sir!!
This genuinely makes me want to cry man you got me into combat sports starting with kick boxing, then to bjj and muay Thai, and now full time high school wrestling. You really motivate me mighty and I love you
The GOAT! Became interested in you with your fighting background but ultimately resonated most with your personality as a father, a content creator, and a legend in the sport. Keep doing you and we’ll always be here to support
Thanks for everything, DJ. You've been my favourite fighter since I started watching MMA all those years ago. Moreover, you are the true GOAT, drug-free and one hell of a guy. Such a beautiful family, and I hope you have the best retirement.
We all love you, man.
Edit: Nice to see that One championship has some appreciation for you, aswell. I'll never forgive the UFC for what they did with you at the end. Emotional video for sure, but I've just been cutting onions.
I always showed your fights to my kids and told them, that you is one of GOATS. You are an incredible man, be happy with your family, Legend.
The TRUE GOAT of MMA. Seems like a humble dude (to be so dangerous)
I was here for this and I can confirm, it was enough to make a grown man cry, congrats on the legendary career mighty!
Thanks DJ for showing us what real Mixed Martial Artist is. Nothing but respect for you and your wonderful family.
The grief we all feel right now..
To never again see, the beautiful dance of fluidity that is Demetrius....
But ..
You are not gone.
You still evolve...
I cannot wait to see your philosophy's on the martial way .
Ois !
It was an honor for this generation to witness your talent. Thank you for making us dream, for your integrity, and for giving hope to all short guys in the world hehe. Enjoy the time with your family and see you soon on the mats !
enough to make a grown man cry... thank u for everything
DJ and Matt Hume is arguable the greatest student/teacher duo in all of mma. NEVER had a fallout, said a bad word about one another, nothing!
I said this on the One video, but one of the best to ever do it. But if I can add badass in the cage, humble outside, and showing that you can be strong and vulnerable. Keep on creating champ, look forward to what the future brings.
THE pound for pound greatest fighter ever, Demetrious Johnson! No BS, no excuses, just smash. And a seemingly good, all-around regular dude who keeps it real and has the best fight breakdowns.
Sitting here as a 43y old man and cry like a little baby! Love you man! What a role model you are! ❤ Wish you all the best
My GOAT. Straight up. Thank you for everything, DJ!
Thank you. #1 pound for pound best fighter of not just ufc or ONE but of all mma history
How can you not put this guy at the top. He is a class act. It was a pleasure to follow your career and I will continue to follow everything that you do.
DJ you are one of my favorite fighters, not only for your fighting skill but also your demeanor out of the cage. What an example for younger fighters to look up to.
I have never been to a fight event, and happened to go to the ONE fight night in Denver last weekend, as I love nearby. So awesome to see your retirement speech, congrats mate.
Thank you so much DJ, for being the kind of man that adults and children both can look up to. You are without a doubt the greatest mixed martial artist to have ever lived, and I look forward to following your BJJ career. Thank you for setting an example of what it means to be a man. Thank you for being candid with what you've had to go through in your life. Thank you for your constant positivity. Thank you for just being you. Thank you for making me laugh and cry. I wish you all of the best things in life sir!
I love you DJ. You have made the sport of MMA grow and evolve into what it is today. Without legends like you, the sport wouldn’t have the spotlight it does, so thank you and all the legends that came before you. You are without a doubt a Hall Of Famer and will easily go down as one of if not the greatest to ever do it. Love ya bro and enjoy your retirement from mma. We appreciate you more than you know bro.
