Great video!! Pride gloves definitely smashed it but I think the new UFC gloves are better than given credit for. I understand the not wanting to break your hand with the lesser padding but that's also partly down to knowing how to land the shots without breaking your hand also. I’m in Japan for the next few days, and while here I was searching for some Pride gear or memorabilia, no luck on that front, but I got to try on those Isami MMA gloves… HOLY HELL the quality is out of this world. Totally agree. I had many fights in different promotions and the assigned gloves always were alwyas a crapshoot. He's so right about the Fairtex gloves, they 1000% feel the best. Slim, compact, and long in the finger tips, made your hands feel like you could punch through a wall. The Oauno brand/UFC/KOTC gloves are so bulky, after all the tape you feel like you got bowling balls on your hands. Also, the holes in the sides of those gloves are really big, a lot of opportunity for people to grab on the inside of those gloves, sneaky, cheatin bastards.
800th like, I also own a pair of the 2007 UFC gloves and they are better than those old ones. They have a good thumb spot, sliding into them isn't bad at all but the bad part is is the knuckles on youre finger, very far below the padding. Oh and the leathers good
Pride gloves allow fighters to throw a thousand punches without giving a single bruise to their opponents. While ufc gloves only aim to reduce the impact on the fighter's fist and give freedom to the fingers for a tighter grip. Maybe pride can add protection to the fighter's elbows and knees too.

Hunter fight gear made a model very similar to the Pride gloves in the mid 2000s. Unfortunately, many of the brands from those days no longer exists.

I don't understand why DJ criticised other gloves for the open palm and de-ranked them but didn't even mention them when it came to the Pride gloves.
Pride glove isn't completely open, it has a thumb sleeve. The others were completely open.
