  • 5 Easy Steps To Cleaning Your Alloy Wheels: A Beginner's Guide
    In this video Mat shows you how to easily clean your alloy wheels in 5 simple steps. No need to remove them from the car, no fancy tools required and no excuse not to get them nice and clean.
    All you need is some wheel cleaner, APC (optional), wheels brushes or microfiber cloths and some clean water. For easier maintenance, some tyre dressing and wheel sealant would also help.

    When it comes to these kind of "tutorial" videos, which do you prefer?
    Just having the text on screen and some music.
    Narration throughout the video.
    A mix of both.

    • @thetraindriver01
      @thetraindriver01 5 лет назад

      The mix of both is good but make sure that the music volume is at the same level as your voice as listeners will have to keep turning up / down the volume as the music fades out. If you wanted music playing whilst you were talking, make sure it’s only just audible so we can still hear what you say. There is nothing worse than turning up the volume to hear what you are saying and then down again as the music is louder than your voice after you stop talking. Hope this helps 👍

      Most definitely speaking...makes for a more professional tutorial.:)

      @TheDetailingSpace  5 лет назад +1

      I know what you mean. I do monitor the levels in post production to make sure the volumes are about equal. There are a few big RUclipsrs that I watch (as in Millions of subs) who have the music come in way too loud - so I know what you mean

      Okie dokie. I'll try to get a little more narrative into the videos then :-D

      Haha. I've tried my best to keep on top of these from day one (the car was brand new to me).

    I think it’s easier if you talk rather than text on the screen. Enjoying your videos, keep up the good work mat 👍🏻

      Check out the latest video then. That one is just speaking rather than any text (I was going to add text, but thought there was no need).

      Indeed my back is trashed.
      On the bright side that's them sealed as well so i'll be using just shampoo for the cleaning.

      Same here.... Although I think that's due to spending 6 hours just doing the front two wheels the next day. But that's for another video as it was a wheel off job ;-)

    Great video as always. Very informative & fantastic content.
    With regard to music/speech. I CANNOT stand music over videos (I just mute the sound completely)
    So to me, I much prefer to spoken tutorials.
    Keep your fantastic videos coming 👍👍

    • @TheDetailingSpace
      @TheDetailingSpace  5 лет назад

      Cheers fella....
      I guess the issue with music is finding something that most will enjoy, or at least not sound like just noise. Half the music I use isn't something I'd necessarily listen to myself, but I find it quite "neutral" if that makes sense....
      I guess, as you say, with music there's the option to mute and play your own?
      Maybe I should add an icon or something when music is about to kick in - or does my face give you a clue when the music is about to end? lol

      Possibly women in 👙 lol. I like the way you explain things and the format of videos not too much talking like some channels the talk longer than they need to. Be good to have a training day in the future. Are you going to waxstock this year?

    • @TheDetailingSpace
      @TheDetailingSpace  5 лет назад

      Yes I'll be at Waxstock... I was talking to a couple of the guys last night about it actually. At some point I should be spending some time on the DW stand getting footage. Or just find me wandering the hall :D

    Any idea about getting rid of ingrained and stubborn dirt on alloys. I bout my seat and it had a sticky residue managed to get quite a bit removed but there's still some that won't budge.

  • @mashudmiah3820

    Do you wash the wheels first before the actual car wash or isit the other way round

  • @BrianW1612

    Good video Mat but just want to point out genuine wheel whoolies are not lambswhool. They are actually very durable carpet fibre and that is the reason genuine whoolies will last years but the knock off cheap lambswool copies won't.

    • @TheDetailingSpace
      @TheDetailingSpace  5 лет назад

      I've had mine for a few years now, since they first came onto the scene. Can't remember who I got them off, but think it was a group buy over on the forums.

    Could you use meguiar's wheel brightener on these type of alloys?

    • @TheDetailingSpace
      @TheDetailingSpace  5 лет назад

      I can't see why not on the painted black parts. Not sure on the diamond cut faces though.

    Nice vid again Mat, more speaking would be better imo especially as im a slowwww reader and miss the bloody content hahaha. Good to see you keep your nuts clean too, some don`t bother lol. Thanks for the vid mate, keep em coming

    • @TheDetailingSpace
      @TheDetailingSpace  5 лет назад +1

      haha.... Maybe I need to leave any text up a touch longer.
      Single lines stay on screen 2 seconds
      Double lines stay on for 3 seconds.....
      Maybe closer to 4 or 5 seconds may be more beneficial?
