OVARIAN CANCER VLOG -How I found out I had a cyst, my surgery, and my chemotherapy plan

  • Last week I found out I have Ovarian Cancer from a teratoma tumor found in a cyst on my right ovary. After emergency surgery to untwist my ovary and remove the cyst, I was told the tumor was cancerous and will have to start chemotherapy shortly.
If you are going through something similar, please listen to your body and be an advocate for your own health. This is a lesson I had to learn and I hope this can help anyone who is currently struggling.
Since then, my fiancé and I decided to plan a wedding in 6 days, I cut my hair, and we're officially married. That and so much more.
I've decided I'm going to try and make the most out of this with a positive attitude and ten thousand wigs.
If you have any advice, tips, or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! You can email me!

I can totally relate. When I had horrible back pain, it took a year of being blown off by my doc (she’d say “you’re young and healthy, just exercise and lose some weight”) before I finally demanded an MRI and found about my cancer. The person who did the MRI told me “based on what I’ve seen, please don’t go home. Go straight to the ER. They’re expecting you.” Then, a surgeon came and told me that if I had waited even 1 more day, I would probably be paralyzed. At that point, I was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer. That’s when it really hit me about the importance of taking the lead in your own health and never give your power away to anyone, not even an authority figure in a crisp white coat. I’m still dealing with my condition, but I’m the one in charge of how I do so.

This makes me so angry that doctor act this way and constantly feel the need to brush off our symptoms. They say “ listen to your body “ , well good luck finding a doctor who feels the same.

All my abdominal pains were dismissing as menstrual cramps too. Sharing your story is so important & it’s so helpful to connect with others.

Thank you for sharing I hope you’re in a better place with your health now. You’re very vague symptoms sound eerily similar to mines. I have a stat order for a biopsy of my uterus and just also found out I have complex cyst on both my ovaries. The pain started about 4 months ago in my right lower quadrant and seems to happen every 2 months.
I have a visible mass in the same area, it’s especially visible when I lie on my back. I’ve been a nurse for over 10 years and I’m honestly really scared. The symptoms are so vague that I started second guessing my self up until I started getting the horrific pain. My advice is if you feel something is off with your body, please follow your first mind.

I was asleep and felt a knife stab pain in my lower right side, went to ER, I had internal bleeding, a cyst had ruptured, was sent 2 hours away since no surgeons around here that saw my CT would operate. The surgeon made me wait 2 days to get surgery, in excruciating pain, bilateral collapsed lungs, blood pooling around heart and lungs, finally had the surgery, needed a blood transfusion, and now he won't release the full lab results until I see him next Friday. I'm very blessed to be alive. I'm sorry you are going through this. I am glad though they caught it before it ruptured. Any update?

When I was diagnosed with my brain tumor I had undergone a rule out brain MRI because I had a neck/ortho injury. I went in for the results and the MA handed me a paper with the MRI read out including “mass at pineal bland”. I just remember sobbing and not being able to function after that. Mistakes happen but you gotta be so much more careful with results like this. Hang in there!

Hi, your story is inspiring. Right now I am so bloated I look 4 or 5 months pregnant. At first I thought I had just gained weight. Now I am tone except for my abdomen. I have been to so many doctors. Everyone just says , that everything is normal. I had an ultrasound and showed a 2 cm cyst. It is not big enough for doctors to want to do anything about. I have had chest pain and breathing problems. I was prescribed a diuretic and that has helped the chest pain and breathing. I do have pain in my abdomin but not all the time. I am just frustrated and feel like I am yelling for help and no one can hear me. I don't know what to do.

Ii have had a 8.2 x 7.4 cm cyst but they called it a fallopian tube (that tube was removed in 2015. I had a hysto 12 yrs ago. My right ovary is torsioned. They are telling me the same thing. It has mixed density. They say my ca-125 is fine but I move and I feel like I get a Charlie horse in my tummy. It’s been a a yr, my health is declining, I can’t stay awake. My dr says “ur too young” im 41. I have a cyst on left side as well and left side ovary is enlarged. They won’t take it out because they say my stomach has too much scar tissue from history of endo and cyst surgeries: ovarian cancer runs through my immediate family on both sides. I don’t know what to do anymore. I had cervical cancer in 2003. They say the ct shows the growths etc. what else do they need to do something

Hi there. My name is Aliyah and I’m 22 years old and a mom to a 2 year old daughter. My mom had cervical cancer, my aunt and grandma breast cancer, and my cousin died of brain tumors at 25 years old . I have been having pain in my stomach for many months, no peorids in 8 months but swollen in my stomach and hard like I’m 3 months pregnant. I also have had white foamy stool and Back pain and always feeling full and going pee. I have begged the doctors to help me but I was in the er until 3am the other night for them to tell me nothing is wrong with me I just have a stomach bug. Could this be true? I also have had a lump in my breast and a cyst on my ovary that my obgyn dismissed I have medicade so I tried to make an appointment with a different doctor and they won’t let me please what do I do I don’t want to ignore this and die while I have a daughter but no doctor seems to care.. I’ve been so reluctant to believe myself because my daughters family on her dads side are all nurses and tell me I’m just crazy and a hypochondriac but I’ve never even thought or said something was wrong with me until after symptoms started
(The cyst on my ovary ruptured in July and they never biopsied it but have referred me to be biopsy 2 times and the gi doctor “never got my referral”

They cant tell you anything about the images. Only the dr. And why the internal bleeding from a cyst? You didnt explain that when its been there growing...where did the bleeding come from??
