Ah, Viv Davies as Shirley Halliday from the Child Protection Society. In this episode, we see a more charming and civilised version of the actress in comparison to the character of Wendy Stone she portrayed in later episodes. Shirley arrives at the newly named 'Driscoll House' to offer advice and assistance to Maxine Daniels over the ill treatment of a minor.
    Way to go Miss Halliday!

Very different from Wendy! I love that line of Wendy's when she has a big knife in her hand and half a dozen women tied up and she says' 'If any of you's wanna pick ya nose, just let me know and I''ll do it for ya'

Sally should have been warned about how the women feel about kid bashing. Margo always was a coward, though, who never seems to be able to take on her target without backup. Trust Douglas to make an idiot of himself in public. He doesn't need to have a few too many though in order to sound dumb because his true nature takes care of that.... It was funny, though, nevertheless.

Carlene Boulden Agreed. I don't blame the women for acting out their anger towards her. They are only doing what comes naturally to them and they were given every opportunity to do it. However, the incompetency of the prison administration leaves a lot to be desired, as per usual.

Carlene Boulden Too true, Carlene. She just wandered in and went straight to the top, despite having no hands-on experience. Having a University degree is all well and good but she learnt nothing about day-day prison life through working her way up through the ranks, and it shows too.

Bad move on the wife's part. I would have simply said I accelerated and did not know my husband was in front of me ;make it look like an accident pure and simple. instead she literally confesses to the police right there that she ran him over. Oh well, you know she's heading to Wentworth. open up H-block, here she comes. Disappointed in Margo falling into the freaks clutches just like that.

It's a shame Tony and Maxine didn't stay long. Thought they'd have been a good comedic double act. Especially around the Halfway house.Didn't take to Maxine at first but warmed to her post the childminder storyline and Tony is very handsome 😊, I think he is quite modern looking visually and could see him rocking up in Eastenders as he was in these episodes. If you know what I mean.

Dempsters husband is a real piece of work, and he deserved what he got. He took Sally for granted, loved money more than his own family, and couldn't even give her the basic dignity and companionship she desperately craved. He could see what it was doing to her, and rather than accept responsibility, he just blamed her. She should have thought more about her daughter before turning to drink, but she was in a really difficult position. It's no wonder she snapped.
