Nola has some damn nerve referring to Lizzie as "Wrinkles" and "Prune face" when she looks like she was hit with a Mac truck!
Lol liked that
LMAO, now that's a sight you put out there :) I think he died yrs ago or just vanished.
I hope Bea puts her out of our misery.
Lol...
@@cuccicucci4480 I am going to look her up.
I'm appointing Mrs Morris as my Deputy Governor.
The look on Ferguson's face was
Priceless.
Farewell Erica my favorite character on the show. Always elegant and on point
Love her! My all time favorite. Elegance personified!
Well she did come back temporarily much later - Now working for the department, she kicked Ferguson off her perch as acting governor.
O Mrs Davidson! ♥️♥️
It’s would’ve been good to have Jim or Vera back the writers missed a trick
Going to miss Erica as governor and her "Very well" in almost every episode lol
liquidsweep and "that will be an EXCELLENT idea.."
Did she write a meeemo before she left.
The Freak would really apre-cee-ate that :)
Meg getting all angry, Erica was a terrible soft governor
Manda Clody, Erica looks pretty fit to me :)
That was a crappo exit for Erica. Deserved much better. Glad Bea back.
she left over a bust up with val funny how erica leaves ep before bea returns
Thanks I never knew that.
iv picked up a few things from facebook over the last few years some of the prisoner writers do q&a's another thing was the actress that played nola was offered a big deal to stay on longer and replace bea as top dog full time and was to turn more softer over time but she loved being a jobbing actress and turned it down so they gave the deal to the actress that played judy thats why they moved her back to the prison
Thanks, im going to have a good look at the Facebook Page
james miller Judy did not go back inside until well after Nola's exit and they put her back in after Bea's transfer to fill the gap.
Farewell Erica fantastic Governor and character
Nobody works the press as good and efficient as Bea
Judy has a very big heart and cares for people, that's one thing you can't fault
It's sad to see Bea's decline, once top dog and a role model for the rest of the women now abandoned for evil Nola. Such a strong character, now struggling to maintain support. The fire has gone out of her and that's very sad to watch.
3344
Bea gets her ultimate revenge soon!
@@allisonhunt9222 I found that out as I have seen every single episode till the finale.
I knew as soon as I saw the rev that he was fake
Sure she be back
What a sad end for Erica, one of the best Governor's in my book. Thorough, firm but fair but started to lose the plot in these later episodes. Another end of an era for this show.
Agree, it was the start of the mass exodus for the original characters.
So sad😢
Goodbye, Mrs. Davidson. :-(
she comes back every now and then for a while.
Bye bye , Dont come back .🖐
Ray S She is coming back though, a number of times. 😊😃
Hello Mrs Reynolds... not quite yet though.
Sad in some ways to see Erica go, but I would be a hypocrite if I were to say I was totally surprised. In truth, I think it had been coming for sometime, especially given all the recent on-going problems. She got through several sticky situations during her reign, but this was one too many.... However, Patsy King played Erica sublimely well and she sure did deserve a better departure than this. As the show progresses through the years, though, one thing that is very noticeable about it is once a major character decides to leave they don't care how they go about ending his/her reign. It could have been done much more appropriately in a lot of cases.
They should've had Erica job hunting and going down to the CES. That would've been interesting.
Oliver M hardly think she would have had to go to the CES. The sale of Burnham Beeches aka the family home, would have kept her afloat for a good while. Come to think of it - what a wonderful halfway house that would have been.
@@helengazzara8725 lol. Maybe in later episodes. Re appearing in 1985 or something. Yeah, I totally forgot about her family property they sold.
@@helengazzara8725 it could've been a drug rehabilitation sanitarium.
It’s not exactly her departure though is it
Goodbye Erica Davidson.
Loved her class, and her up-do.
"Very well."
Mrs Davidson, you mey go!
Erica: Mey I ask hwhy?
Because we have your resignation letter.
Erica: but that's appalling.
Ted "The Department" Douglas is such a pain in the arse. Did he ever think for himself? Goodbye Erica. You deserved a better exit.
WE LOVE YOU ERICA
"Very well"
Carry on!
@@struttingrooster Mey I go?
Oliver M Yes, that will be all. 😄😉
We certainly do love Erica. It was a dreadful way to write out not just a popular character but an original one as well. Disgusting!
Bea's only back in the joint 5 mins and already Lizzy is trying to get her to sort things out. I've had the same problem in some of my workplaces, give the woman a break already lol.
I know Ann Reynolds comes but I would have LOVED to have seen Vera Bennett walk through the door.
Now that would be ace
Erica deserved a better exit than that ! .....I wonder what the story behind that is ?
I'm curious to know, too.
@Tony Hebert Patsy King was not a drug addict. LMFAO. Have you seen how amazing she looks for 91? Try
Maxine Klibingaitis. She's only 56 and looks like she's nearly 70, weighing 80 pounds soaking wet.
@@laurenbrooks3091 who’s Maxine clingabatis?
@@jessicaj8564 she plays Bobbie. I feel bad for her because she doesn't look well these days.
@@laurenbrooks3091 I know. I saw her on one of the Prisoner reunion things on UTube some time ago and she didn't look great then.
Really going to miss Erica, she was Wentworth !!!
Very well 😁😁
Very surprised the officers didn’t get a meemo from the department telling them and had to find out the news from Colleen.
Just as I was going to start an Erica Davidson "have a shot every time she says 'very well'" drinking game she's gone. What a crap departure for a long-timer. Bea's back but... damn. *sigh*
"Carry on...."
That too...
NativeMoon No Buy outs. Take away Remissions!!! lol
NativeMoon And also, Erica's other words and catchphrases, "That will be all" and "Meemo". 😄😃
Funny how they've tightened regulations yet Nola's "reverend" never gets searched, and they never want to have a look at the things he brings in, like his "bible"--particularly since "Mr. Barker" has such a sinister look, like something out of A Clockwork Orange.
Isn't he the one.that brings in the acid? LSD?
@@sheriheffner2098Yes. The LSD is secreted in those religious cards that the reverend hands out to Nola, Lizzie, who is collecting them and the other women.
Seeing this show as a child was my first introduction to Aussies! I thought they were crazy af! 🤪
bea looks so much better in prison uniform than the tents she was wearing.
Patsy King played Erica Davidson from episode one. One of PCBH best characters, yet she never even had a decent ending !! Thankfully, she had a successful career in theatre after leaving , and she does one day return to Wentworth !!
Wentworth is so hopelessly dysfunctional lol. Soon after they have issues with drugs, they let a "man of the cloth" in regularly and don't even bother to search him each time. And they don't even bother to properly ID him or verify his status until after the damage is done! Ahaha... 🤣
Meg always sounds like the british comedian richard wilson in the comedy show (One Foot In The Grave). 'I don't belieeeeeve it'. 😅😅😅
What a shitty exit for Davo, the show owed her a better send off than some half baked rubbish about resignation, or perhaps there were real life issues???
agreed was same for a few characters. Still cant stop watching it :)
@@Summer21. Gee the production house being a tightass with pay. Whatever next?
I do like the exit cause it shows how ruthless government departments are. That part part of Prisoner is fairly accurate & good on Ian Smith for making a pig of himself, (as script editor).
You want pretty? you're watching the wrong show.
John Sergei I don't need to watch another show, thanks. I have been watching it since 1997 on ITV and Channel 5, and now on the DVDs and on RUclips. 😃
I know the show isn't pretty, but it doesn't have to be, although it has its nice, good, happy moments amongst the bad ones. 😃
Val herself did say about Grundy Television being tight with money as did other members of the cast. Channel Ten were somewhat tight with some things as well in terms of heating during the winter, lack of lighting when needed like in the laundry room, not having a nicer green room, and not always a chance to do retakes if someone made a mistake.
However, Val and the cast did fight to make changes to make things happier and comfortable for them all. 😃
@@Summer21. I hope the catering was good. Wouldn't want Jeremy Clarkson it it if it weren't.
"The minister isn't happy"
I believe the catering in the movie Roar was dreadful? the lions fixed that problem.
I was a teen back then, I liked Prisoner & Roar.
John Sergei Oh yes, the catering was good as the extras would eat anything and the crew did as well as the main actors. 😃
They just had to not eat a lot in dining scenes as Val said and other Prisoner actors have said that they would film all of the same room scenes back to back.
So if they had to film more than several dining scenes, they would have to "eat" more than several meals after filming each of those dining scenes, which was not good. 😄😲
I need to check out Roar as I don't think I've heard of it. ☺
Yay!!! Bea's back !!!
Loved the bit when Lizzie caught the rev. out on Paul the apostle; brilliant 😂😂
I get sick of the alcoholic Lizzie preaching about how bad drugs are when she got drunk and screwed up Doreen's entire life and that was just one example of her boozing, yet no one ever fronts her on that.
I love Lizzie but have to agree about the destruction of lives caused by alcohol compared to weed!
@@louisejenkins7005 I agree completely. There is nothing funny about seeing an old woman drunk. I have seen drunk people throw up and pee all over themselves. It's disgusting. 🤢
"Sodems and begorrahs"! LOL Lizzie's malapropisms are priceless!
Patricia Halls That's right. Hilda Ogden has got nothing on her. Hehe. 😄
What kind of search was that - more like a pat on the shoulder lol
this is The Most authentic plot line I have seen and no matter how much it age's its completely down to the bone..Nolan mckensie is a utterly amazing baddie and I am so glad to see how superbly the actress is a better actress than the other people who have been involved as a baddie with psychodrama and val lehmann is superb as always ❤ ❤❤
There it is again. "Two and a half hundred dollars." Who speaks like that? Nola McKenzie apparently, but no one else. She invented that terminology me thinks.
It's sad to see Davo go
In this episode Lizzie mentions Sally Lee. She was played by Lisa Alderhoven, and was in the very first episode of PCBH. Sally Lee was also the very first suicide, hanging herself in her cell when Karen and Lynn are introduced. Sally Lee , obviously, was only in the very first episode.
+Chris.C They also named the first halfway-house after her, Sally Lee House. It was run by Karen Travers and later, Faye Quinn's mum, when she was called Rhonda ;)
I forgot that. Many thanks for the info !!!
no erica....no....
*CRIES*
agreed that it was a cheap shot to let Erica go like that. reading the comments it's very interesting to learn that the way some of the women left the show was based on real life conflicts behind the scenes.
LOL at Lizzie and her sod'ems and begorrahs!
Mckenzie is the only one I've seen sucking up to the screws. What a hypocrite.
wentworth without mrs davidson = wentworthless :(
I like how you need Proof if it's a "Screw", but Speculation on a "Crim" is perfectly acceptable LOL
Man, Ferguson is like a demented sandman! Gets ya while you sleep--what a freak! lol Wasnt trying to rhyme that.
Oh Jeez!!! Nola calling old Lizzie Prune Face!! I couldn't stop howling.xx
I will never understand how they rostered The Freak on the night shift. They knew was was crooked.
I wonder if they invited Fiona Spence back at this point? She was asked at least once. Imagine!
I BLOODY DAMN WISH SHE DID COME BACK
Bye Erica! Love your character so much! You will be very missed!😘🙌🏻
Class act!
16:33 Two and a half hundred dollars? Who ever says that?😂
$250
Actually, nobody.
@@karennicholls2296 Actually quite a lot of people.
Nola does 😂
43:00 Patting them gently on the waist is not a body search XD
I thought the same thing. Laughable.
Even for a TV pat down it was pretty weak.
I know. I've never hidden anything there.
Nola refers to herself in the third person. Class!
She was the original "Rock" lol
I think it's psychotic.
Welcome Anne Reynolds..........
Bea sure put up a fight against those cops lol.
Would you risk tearing a teal-coloured mu-mu? I wouldn’t.
The preacher is basically Sam Gipp, just without the thousands of people deceived.
What will I do with out my daily dose of" very well's and I see's
Illicit elcohol, deliberrrrate and pre meditated, yes Ted, how are you? Meeeeemos and stuuuupidity. Yes I will definitely miss Erica Davidson!!!!
Seeing Nola's body search at 46:58 she could have hidden an articulated lorry up her frock and the screw wouldn't have found it! She just patted her arse and moved on ;-)
Why would Powell say that next to Nola and the rest? about the dogs. smart!!! ha,ha!
gud for megs temper times i love when she speaks her mind to ted
Ooh. Rare line for Lil Stokes. Special fish suppers all round for the McLorinans tonite.
Yay bea is back :-)
So Davidson's gone...how soon until the polo-necked Freak is in the chair for about five minutes!?
No scenes of Mrs Davidson getting sacked and leaving - maybe she told them where to stick their detention centre - she probably got sick and tired playing scenes where the department make her look a fool - it must get you down after a while - she was a great actress and a bit of class
Wonder what Powell thinks now that her husband has gotten rid of the mustache, always thought it was strange she never took his sirname (mischievous giggle)
Nola should be in Wentworth.
She is in Wentworth.
Why would bea check in the place that she took the money from?!?! Also mic spot in Davo’s office with Ted.
"Everyone needs help at times, especially when they think they don't." -- Mrs. M
Love Grace's WWII look. Wonder if he was appearing in The Sullivans.
I find it weird watching the scenes between Bea and Meg now, after finding out recently that the 2 actresses couldn't stand each other.
It always makes me chuckle how Bea says how decent and nice Mrs M is as a screw, knowing they didn't get on.
Vals an idiot that's why they never got on
That's not true, Paul was an Apostle but just not one of the twelve
Chris Giovanni If only smug Bea, smug Lizzie and the laughing women knew that and I include the writers in this episode as well, then that wouldn't have been written for Sheila Florance's character Lizzie Birdsworth to say. 😃
They kept the mugshots the same for about 220 episodes and now they keep changing them all the time from Nola to Lainie and back again.
Andy JS It would have been nice if they had changed up the mugshots now and then by using some other inmate's mugshots instead of some odd ones like Lainie and another inmate who arrives soon in this era. 😃
The editing department must've been inebriated with illicit elcohol.
I think Judy Bryant should’ve had a mugshot in 100s and 200s didn’t even make since in 300s given she wasn’t an inmate
Nola's come out with a few corkers lately. Not so fussed about "Two and a half hundred" cos thats just odd, but "SHUT UP OLD LADY!!" That was hilarious
love how bea licks the v sign with the cutlery made me chuckle
kathy u seem like an american 😊
Wait wait... Erica Davidson how dare you leave just like that, without sending a Meeeeemooo and the sound of your dentures smacking.
Bahahahaaaaaa.
That has to b the worst long serving character departure I've have Eva seen!!!!!! Farewell davo!:-( :-( so glad be as back tho time to kick sum ass Bea!!!!;-)
I never understood why Erica was given such a lame exit from the show, unless Patsy King left very suddenly , but even so.. one minute she was there the next she was gone? No, didn't like that, she was my favourite Governor. Feel sorry for what Bea is about to go through now she is back, but at the same time found it very entertaining! Joan Ferguson is brilliant character at this point in the show, pity she became nothing more than a pantomime character towards the end of her run.
Its usually because of a RL issue like a pay dispute or a bust up with other cast members. Its happened a few times in Prisoner
On one of the Prisoner fan pages, I did hear that it was because of a pay dispute, but I don't like hearing what apparently the real truth was with it being a bust up between Val (Bea) and Patsy (Erica) as posted above in this comment section.
I hear Val's name cropping up now and then when it comes to cast members or crew members having problems behind the scenes, and then the other cast members, crew members and fans speaking highly of her, doesn't sit very well with me and I'm sure it doesn't with other people either.
It's a shame that Erica was no longer the governor and that she got a such a useless exit from the series. After watching Prisoner in the wrong order (as I started watching the series on ITV back in 1996 when I was 14, and it was the 500's era), I really got used to Erica Davidson as governor and I enjoyed watching her throughout the series. 😊😃
@@Summer21. Val fell out with many of them apparently . I love bea smith, not very keen on Val. I find it very hard to believe they are the same person
Something about that Rev reminds me of Andy Kaufman
What happened to the banging noise of the knives and forks in the recap, when Judy was talking to Ted Douglas in reception?
Anyone else notice the face of a man at 26.38 on the bottom right wall when Meg told the fake vicar to sign in. you can see his nose upwards
No...Erica is gone now? I literally feel tears coming.
23:16 why did douglas want Ferguson to apply for the post of governor when he shouted at her in ep354 when bea escaped in her spare uniform????? 🤨🤔
Wtf,. Lol, Douglas had a plant in the prison who advised him that Ferguson was a bent screw, he practically sacked Davo- a scene we should have seen, it would have been a great cliff hanger and then doesn't want to be cautious about promoting Joan. My arse, this series sometimes....
They talk loud enough for that guard to hear them in the cafeteria.
Weird that I can by this time recite Bea's middle name 'Alice' by heart myself. lol
I really want Nola's drug empire to flourish, makes things way more exciting.
Farewell old Davo. Beautiful character. I fear Ted Douglas will visit more often now!
Couldn't decide
to like or dislike your comment.
I can't stand Nola, but totally agree about Erica. 🤷♂️
I hope Lainey over doses
6 trips on that card? Oh my... mega dose🤩🤩🤩
Governor Powell. They should have kept that going for a wee bit.
Po Face made a great acting Governor putting Fergo in her place
Okay Laney you can see your precious boyfriend and are losing your tats no more moaning now.
So Erica' Davidson's exit is a disappearing act? She deserved a way better one than that. Now Davo's gone I guess the next Governor will step up to the plate. Hmm now who will it be?
16:11 A picture of HM the Queen on the wall. This episode is from 1983, and 40 years later we still had the exact same sovereign. And in 1983, she'd already been on the throne for over 30 years. Mind-boggling, isn't it.....?
Now you've got Big Ears.
Bea: "Smack, speed, it's all the bloody same" - really? I would have thought they were the polar opposite of each other.
Gasp ! >BITES MY FINGERNAILS
I love how Lizzie gets chatty with The Freak, she just doesn't give AF!
I'm sure the police office at 5:23 was also a background prison officer earlier in the series.
what happened there, no warnign erica fired, no real reason
awful exit for Mrs Davison
I'm guessing the actress had to leave quick
I wonder if they filmed the scene with Betty (Judy) in a real supermarket ?
Lol see joan laughing at lizzie barker bible lol
I feel "Cheated" that we didn't get a scene where ERiCA welcomes back BEA ! 😒
‼️{{{{The Fans deserved that conversation between Erica and Bea :about Bea's Escape/ and what she'd been up to during the Escape(meeting up with Doreen, etc) / and her Return}}}} ‼️
Mr. Douglas regrets not coming on to Erica and hopes that he'll get the chance to take a pop at her on the Wentworth dinner party circuit
Think he regrets not taking up Helen Smart offer
Yea I didnt like Davo being gone :(
