- I Literally came up with this idea at 1 A.M. and was relieved to see that NO ONE ELSE had thought of it yet. One of my favorite moments in movie history set to one of the spiciest memes right now.
What could POSSIBLY go wrong?!

in his previous life Mifune must have been a warrior king, one who stood with his men against all odds and despite his death, he won the battle cause he inspired his people to fight their hardest and till the bitter end to save their home

also I love how the entire robot army had to use an entire goddamn wave just to take him out
There are also other APU firing at them and the sentinels decided that mifune was an even greater threat
Those mechs are so weird looking, but so cool.

Zion is problaby low on materials, so these could be mechs mayb seen in Animatrix but without their Armor.

While true, I don't think any of the others were fighting solo. At one point in the video, you can see some of the others on the edge and they aren't that far from each other. I think Mifune was the only one still soloing in the center of the main area.
Captain Mifune has more kills than the whole battalion of stormtroopers.

Okay, WH40K Moment, When Mifune calls for Ammo, I can see and Astartes holding out as his serf/squire (knights in space and all that) and an IG scramble to get more ammo to the Astartes dodging hail and fire, fang and blade, to get to the Space Marine. As strong as they are, Space Marines still need help to finish the fight. When the Space Marine falls, the Serf does what he can to take over. Ultimately finishing the Space Marines mission and buying enough time to brace for the next wave at worst, evacuation at best.
I can imagine the serf grabbing the astarte’s Bolter and firing a burst at a chain to open a door for one last ship attempting the flee

Some of the best ideas happen at 1am. But for real, this idea _should not_ have worked. And yet, the editing, especially with the music and with the perfect anime flashback moment before Mifune goes down, mannnn, this was awesome. Great job!
Hell Mifune as a character shouldn’t work. He’s so comically over the top that it should be impossible to take him seriously. The character’s success is entirely down to the actor playing him.

Love that Mifune’s death presumably could’ve been averted or delayed had they provided even just a roll cage to protect the pilots of those death traps.
With hindsight from The anime that showed us The Human Machine War at its peak, its a waste of resources. Mechs back then had the pilots fully enclosed and those same machines still ripped right past them.

Mifune is pissing metal and spitting lead what a legend.
Even to this day, I am amazed at this man's bravery and sacrifice for Zion, and even for this day, it has been a great source of inspiration for my imagination to go wild and I enjoy every second of it.

Poor one out for the legend.
Mifune reminded me when I still play MLBB 2 years ago. I made a last stand in rank mode where all my teammates were dead and still got countdowns to revive in 20-30sec. The turrets from all lanes start to get destroyed and the enemies 5/5 with minions was about to reach the home base. Instead of going out and fight them, I decided to stand ground right in front of home base using Layla. With max level and full equipments where it boost my damage and speed attack. One by one I kill the minions with one hit and deal with other players greatly since I have huge crit. Somehow, I manage to buy some time for my teammates to revive. The moment they come back, we push with everything we have and finally reach their home base and destroy it while they can only watch it crumble. It's the greatest last stand I ever made. Shame I didn't manage to record that rare moment.
When I was younger and watching these films the kid that looked up to Neo was my favorite character. I guess because I looked up to Neo myself at the time, so I supposed I related to the kid in some way. Amazing character.
A real hero are the ones that sacrifice themselves for something bigger then themselves.

I am not the only first here when they watch to see they get filled with dopamine and they’re over here like this man is going beyond plus our truck this song goes basically everything it’s so good. This is one of my favorite movie scenes in all history it’s so badass. They did such a good job with the scene and it came out so long ago too. God makes you feel old I’m 25.😅

In my opinion...to this day APU's Sentinel seen in matrix 3 is by far the most HYPE SEEN EVER!!! even better then the final fight!! But that's just my opinion. APU's are just so cool!!

Now, you might be wondering why the APUs have an open cockpit and aren't armored. Go watch a clip from the Animatrix of the last battle of the machine war and you will see exactly why.
Yep not a way I wanna go out pulled out of the cockpit. Limbs ripped off bones breaking. Yeah...no thanks.
They also aren't fighting an enemy that values ranged combat, or is detered by thick armor, injury and mass casualties.
Having an open cockpit reduces production and maintanance costs and also allows for a new pilot to replace the dead one in the seat.
Not only do these walkers have sufficent 180 degree firing coverage against an enemy that calculates its approach on mass, but they also had the mobility and flexability that The UN forces in Animatix simply lacked:
-Too Heavy
-Too Thick
-Rendered useless the second its pilot gets ripped out
-Can't lift their arms past their head
All of these problems are things that these more simplistic ones don't suffer from, making them good enough for what they were doing here.
You know what's great the music of you say run really highlights how undervalued that scene is in the broader scale mifune held that line for as long as he did probably a lot longer than he should have and the supply runner where Important to this siege because in the end even neo saving everyone if I'm assuming it would have fell anytime before that it wouldn't have mattered for shit
That's an Incredible point. Even if thee were 12 other APU's left, Mifune was the goddamn workhorse of the Entire Corps.
This scene really show how a person can be the one soldier army even though he know this is gonna be his end
If there is ever a fighting game with mechanics like Smash for film characters, Mifune would be one heck of an assist trophy or playable character

It's easy to become hero if you have inf bullets.
Until now, I still wonder why the mechs don't have melee weapon.
Considering the speed and numbers of the robots, alongside just how fast to react they were, it's just a waste, you'd kill maybe one before being dropped
Better question is why the pilot has minimal protection.
@@level_1_for_now if you've seen animatrix, you'll not pose such question... Its no use at all whether there was any armour to begin with, since the armour would just restricts the APU manuveribility and the robots would just tear the APU to get the pilot limb to limb slowly and painfully. They would rather die straight away than to suffer that kind of torture

if the robot had armor all over its cockpit almost all of the robot pilots would have survived
You haven't watched the Animatrix. Look up what happened to the Original APU Pilots that had an entirely armored cockpit
The machines would literally pull the pilot out of the APU. Ripping the pilots limbs from the bodies. So humans decided to say screw it. If you're going to die then make it quick.

There's a reason why the APUs don't really have armor.
The United Nations had APUs themselves. And they were heavily armored unlike these. But compared to Zion's, they lack the mobility these APUs have, and don't have pilot controls like these do. Pilots were strapped in, with their arms and legs in the limbs of the APUs
The machines exploited that like mad. Sentinels and harvesters restrained the limbs of the APUs, cutting open the armored hatch where the pilots are, leaving them at the mercy of those that restrained the pilot.
And that mercy is NOT merciful. Know why? Simple.
The machines *grab* you, and then pull you out of the APU, with your limbs still strapped into the bits of the suit. You are literally RIPPED out of the APU, dismembered.
@@dj11o9ernot a way I wanna go out. Pulled out of a cockpit flesh ripped off bones snapping nope. I'll take the zion APU. She's big and slow but she's got flexibility and higher caliber ammo probably.
@royalanempire2965 I believe they have the same caliber, it's just that Zion's just had a whole lot more with the trade off of requiring external reloads.
But yeah. Not a fun way to go. Even the only time we see it happening had it gruesome. The pilot was wiggling, screaming for help, *then* agony, and the scene changed as soon as the dude was ripped out. Not a fun way to go, but at least he didn't become part of the first versions of the Matrix

Go watch the machine war for the animatrix and see if you still feel the same way.
