Nice review, I've been playing guitar since the 70s and have owned nothing but tube amps. I'm 100% anti-solid state, until the orange cr60 & cr120 came out. After researching these amps for months I decided to buy the cr120. What a fantastic amp!!! I play my guitars thru the cr120 just as much as my expensive tube amps. Orange did a great job with convincing me to buy solid state. It's even bedroom friendly without sacrificing the cr120s full potential. You get alot of amp for your money so if you haven't tried the cr60 or cr120 do yourself a favor like I did and buy one. You won't regret it. This is one amp that's staying in my arsenal of tube amps.
Great demo young man! Possibly the best I have seen on this particular amplifier. I'm an old guy that has been a player for many years , and I know a player when I see one. And you young man are one. God bless! Stay safe and healthy! And keep on rocking!
This is a testament to tone being 95% of the guitar players’ fingers. Every once in a while the Tele twang comes out, but with eyes closed it’s hard to tell what you’re playing. Good review and great playing.
Loved your review! Just picked up a CR60 Crush Pro today because of it.....makes my Telecaster scream! Thanks for the great playing and your evaluation!
Dude, I was shocked when I first found out that Dime used solid state.. It definitely worked for him. Solid state Orange's sound great.. It was a smart move on their part. Thanks for watching!
Daniel Rettberg Peter I keep coming back to this video... I think that I'm going to get the CR60. How long do you think that this amp would last? I had Mesa amps, a PRS Archon combo, have been looking at Friedman Runts, but I'm thinking for predominantly playing at home its far beyond overkill. Both the cost up front, as well as maintenance. If I got the CR60 I may swap out the speaker for a Celestion Creamback H type, the 75 watt one but after the break in period, the stock Voice of the World may do just fine. I'm impressed with how versatile the amp sounds. Between this video and Dave Simpson's of the CR120, there's a lot of tonal ground covered on the Crush Pro range. Initially I was thinking it'd only excel at the doom, stoner, and sludge but it seems to do most genres exceptionally well. Again great video and I think this is the push I need to purchase the amp!
Hey man. I bought a Mesa combo recently, and around that time I read an article about which amps were the most dependable, and the CR60 was on that list. I've owned this amp for almost 3 years, and I've gigged with it inside smokey venues and on outdoor stages. It's been moved a lot, and I've played at very loud volumes. Based on my own personal experience, this amp is extremely dependable. I never once worried about it breaking or needing a repair. Obviously, it's solid state so you don't have to worry about a tube going bad. It's very versatile.. You can play almost any style of music with it. Thanks again for your kind words. I really appreciate it, and I hope this helps!
@@mikec6733 And Dime was actually going back to tube amps before his death, he had designed an all tube head with Randall. But yeah Randall and Orange do make some amazing solid state amps.
I am a working musician in the Tampa Bay area and bought this amp about a month ago . I have used on 4 gigs (2 outside) and have had 0 issues. Mine says pro on it which I think comes with the newer models. Yes it will keep up with a drummer no problem..Great video
Thank you so much! Yeah, this amp sounds great and is very dependable.. It will definitely last a long time. Orange is a great company. Thanks for watching!
Oh yeah man, this amp is sick. You can get so many different tones out of it. Making an orange colored amp was genius lol.. Very recognizable. Thanks for watching!
So... I played back in my late teens and haven't touched a guitar in years....... So my Lovely wife in all her infinite wisdom for my birthday bought me a MINT like new PRS SE Custom in sunburst... It's gorgeous... So I am now looking for a decent amp..... This looks like it will do the trick...? Thanks for the review and showing the diversity of tones you were able to get out of it..
Excellent chops man - these demo vids are so much better when the person demo-ing can actually play and show you the wide spectrum of possibilities - i'm sold - think i'll get one of these instead of another Marshall tube amp money pit. My last Marshall was in the shop so many times that i eventually paid more money for repairs than I initially paid for the amp.
I bought this exact amp and I’m running a $89 Blackstar ht valve boost pedal with a Blackstar lt drive and it literally sounds like a tube driven rockerverb with the two pedals. Without the pedals the amp is also nice and for the price compared to tubed it’s ridiculous the price difference. And you can run the amp through a small cab and it really gets crazy. Great review and it’s a great amp
Picked this amp up last week and I couldn't be happier. Initially I was going to get the Rocker 15 Combo, but with covid supply has become an issue and I would be waiting another month at least to try out the Rocker. The Crush Pro 60 was available, and sounded awesome when I played it. I preferred it to the Marshall Origin, and the Blackstar HTII that I tried out - both valve amps. Like Daniel, I probably will get another amp in addition to this in good time - but will probably go for a head and 2x12, likely the Rockerverb MKIII.
Love solid state. I'll never go back to valves. My JC-40 is the most haunting amp I've ever played. Best chorus, vibrato and reverb I've ever heard. Crush Pro is next. That thing sounds fantastic.
Cool man I’m gonna buy this amp. I played thru it once we rented it for our first ever gig. I didn’t know anything at the time , 6 years later I can really appreciate it now
One of the best reviews I've seen in years. Great job showing off the amps capabilities and not just your own (good playing thought for sure)! I was a bit iffy until you busted out the Puppets riff, so thanks for making my mind up for me.lol
Its awesome and loud. Even during quarantine people will tell you to turn it down :/ but, even on 1 it sounds full and inspiring. Get some, family, get some.
Great Playing! I came across your video while doing some research for a friend who is looking at this amp. He's new to guitar & I wanted to be sure that it would be a good amp for him, especially at $300. you just proved it to be worthy so, thank you!
Thanks you for the awesome review, I just went and played one at guitar center because of this review, came straight home and ordered it from zz sounds! Can’t wait for it to come it!
Excellent review. I've been using the 120 for 6 years now straight. It replaced all my tube amps. I just own two crush pros now for all the reasons you mentioned.
I had this amp and loved it, but sold it and got a Blackstar HT40. Hated the Blackstar, sold it and bought a Orange Micro Dark and a PPC112 cab. Incredible! Then went and bought an Orange OR15 and PPC212OB cab. Unbelievably great. The micro dark is my home rig, but this video has me wanting another CR60 for home. You have made the best demo of this combo, hands down. Nice job, and great playing dude.
Thank you so much, man. Your compliment made me feel really good. I have a Mesa combo that I really like, but I haven't played through any tube amps by Orange. I've heard other guitarists play through them and they sound awesome. I'll definitely buy one in the future.. Thanks for watching!
I'm a full time bassist, I can't say enough good about Orange (bass terror 500w with Orange 1x15). They sound great and can do anything...I don't even use pedals. You just convinced me to eventually get one of these down the road for the odd guitar gig...Awesome chops too. Cheers from Ottawa.
Thanks a lot, man! I really appreciate that.. I'm glad this was useful to you. Glenn Hughes uses Orange, and he gets an amazing sound out of their bass amps. Canada is awesome. Thanks for watching!
Daniel Rettberg Peter I don't trust all tubes...watched guitar players in my bands using Fenders and seeing them crap out onstage...I'm a big fan of the D class bass amps...way I see it, if it sounds good, and you know your gear enough, you should be able to make a solid state amp sound great...just like you do here.
Great guitar playing!!! I am sold on this Orange amp!!!😎😁🎸😎🎸😁🎸😎😁🎸🎶🎼🎶🎵🎶🎼 I want an amp that is versatile. And reliable!!! I think tube amps are great , but they can be expensive and high maintance! I am a hobbyist. It doesn't make sense to spend $1500-3000 dollars on a tube amp.
Thanks a lot, man! I really appreciate it. Yeah, these solid state Orange amps sound great for the money. And yeah you're right, you don't have to worry about tubes and all that. Very dependable amp.. Thanks for watching!
Oh! That opening tone is just perfect. I decided to buy a used one just so I can have a "real" little amp in my studio to practice and experiment. Using plugins is fun, but continuously managing a computer when I just want to do a little jam is really annoying. This should be fun. Looked at more expensive tube amps, Fender, Marshall, etc. But with the tube crisis happening, I can't justify the cost & management on the long run. I was really surprised with the tone. Tried a Fender Tone Master side by side, and it just sounded dead compared to a tube blackface. Then, I tried this one, and I was amazed at the tone for the price of the CR60C. Bang for the buck is just insane. Especially when used. Cheers. Great video.
I played through one of these today at Guitar Center only because all the tube amps were unplugged. Great, I gotta play my Strat through a solid state amp. Man, what a surprise! Warm, fat tone! I’ve always been a “tube guy” but this amp just might convert me.
Awesome review, great playing and excellent real world tones...we've all seen so many crappy, useless reviews that we don't know what gear to buy...it's nice to see a regular guy trying to help others out...I got a line on a used one of these and your demo cinched the deal...thanks a million and keep up the great work!!!
Perfect review! Great playing and also good sound. (finally a review without an overloaded and compressed distortion) I am about to try one in the store at the upcoming weekend. Just one thing, when you review, each time you play a different sound, try showing the EQ and settings for 2 - 3 sec. I know that sound mostly depends on the guitar and many other things, but taking a look at the settings might give us a clue about the amp's character / personality / color (not literally ;)) Keep on!
Hey man, thank you for the kind words. One of the mistakes we made in this video is what you pointed out.. we didn't show the EQ settings. Oh well, maybe next time lol.
This is seriously one of my favorite gear review videos. You do a great job balancing talking with demonstrating. I absolutely loved this amp when I tried it at guitar center but I'm nervous about it being underpowered for the three-piece band I'm playing with. Will it cut through and provide enough volume for barroom venues?
Wow, thank you so much! What a nice thing to say.. I have to give credit to my friend Aakash (Frostbyte) for editing the video. He did an awesome job. Okay here's the thing: In a venue that has microphones, this amp will have no problem at all. I've played live with this amp without being mic'd and it did fine. My advice is that you get an amp stand. This amp is already very loud by itself, but elevating it will help a lot. As long as your drummer isn't crazy loud, this amp should be a good fit. I've done 3 hour sets with this amp, and it holds up very well.. You don't have to worry about a tube going bad or anything. I read an article recently about which amps were the most dependable, and the Orange CR60 was on the list. Hope this helps, man.. Thanks for watching!
I found out recently that Frank Gambale, one of the best guitarists ever (in my opinion), uses solid state/digital exclusively nowadays. He was famous for his tone that he got with Mesa Boogies, but he argued that solid state/digital amps are A LOT better than they used to be. I absolutely love my Mesa combo, but this amp is built extremely well, it sounds great, and it's dependable. Very solid amplifier.. Thanks for watching!
Love this review, Daniel. Wasn't sure what to buy in Orange. Been playing a TH100 on a loaner and want to buy one but they stopped making them in 2016. So L & M tells me to go smaller and suggested an OR50. But this amp sounds terrific. You got me sold when you played James Gang (great influence on my music life) and then Hey Joe by Hendrix. I gig a lot with a full band indoor and outdoor gigs, so I need something that cuts through. Not sure if this will do that completely, so would need an amp stand on stage and mic-ed as well. Unless you'd suggest going to a Mesa instead. Your input or anyone else's is most appreciated.
Hey Ken! Thanks a lot for your kind words. I use a Fender Deluxe now, but I can say that the CR60 will do a great job especially if there's a microphone in front of it. Mesa is cool, but it all depends on how much money you want to spend. For a solid state amp, the CR60 is really legit.
Goddamn! Pardon my language, but that Heartbreaker tone was no shit spot on. I was honestly shocked. Wonder if it can do lower gain Rolling Stones stuff as convincingly?
Yeah man. The gain knob on this amp is a wide spectrum of distortion sounds. This amp can recreate tone similar to the Stones and/or it can mimic bands that use higher gain amplifiers.. Lots of diversity available. I'm pretty sure I played some Rolling Stones riffs for this video, but they weren't edited into the final video. Thanks for watching!
Rob Nolan the crush cr120/60 and crush pro cr120/60 are one and the same amp. It may be a difference in US vs EU marketing thing or just the way different youtubers label their videos, idk. But rest assured they are the same amp
thanks for this in depth review. was looking for an affordable and durable Orange tone that would work and sound just as well mic'd to the PA as it does sitting in the living room. buying one of these on black friday 2020. also going with the black amp box instead of traditional orange color. offset the lacquer and tweeds I've already got.
asr 01 Man I love mine. I can play anything from Led Zeppelin to Metallica. Oh and if you haven't got it already, make SURE you get the 2 switch pedal that works the gain and reverb.
Man I just ordered it in black I’m a tele man too I have tube amps too this one rocks I’m thinking great review and your an awesome player I enjoyed the James brown horn bud too
Hope you appreciate the amp. Do yourself a favor. Give it a good trial period. Then change the speaker. After a while, mine started to sound like it had a blanket over it. I swapped a V30 into mine. The amp's clean channel can now get a nice clean to degrees of soft crunch. Also, the speaker improved the gain channel. The loop is great. It also takes pedals. I run an EQ and delay in the amp loop.
Great demo. But I was just curious about the clean channel----- does it have much headroom? At what point does it start to break up? Very early, or can you get considerable clean volume before it starts to break up?
I’m picking one of these up tomorrow for $250 I play a lot of Alice In Chains and hoping it sounds good, most reviews speak highly of these orange amps
What’s funny is I just bought a Supro Tube amp and it continues to pop tubes almost as soon as I put them in. Tired of it so I’m looking for a solid state combo and you played a larger majority of the songs I do while trying an amp out. It was like I got to try it out myself lol
Hey man, I'm glad you liked the video. If you have a music store like Guitar Center or Sam Ash near you, I would recommend trying it out one day. It's a really legit solid state amp..
Nice review.....now that we're two years down the road....have your opinions changed at all? I'm looking at some SS amps, as I've had too many problems with tube amps......I was looking at a smaller orange....but, I prefer 12" speakers over the 10's that come in all the smaller Orange amps...It's actually more amp than I need at 60 watts (bedroom and studio use only)...but...it does sound pretty good on the vids I've seen.
Hey man. I use Mesa and Peavey tube amps mostly, but my opinion of this amp hasn't changed. Orange did a great job with these SS amps. To be honest, Blackstar makes a great solid state amp as well.
aside from the obvious fact that you can play anything on anything, you'd apparently be surprised at how many metal guitarists actually make use of the Tele... never underestimate the power of a lone single coil and a master gain killswitch; no tone knobs necessary
Hi! I am planning on buying this amp. Do you think this amp would be better if it had a middle tone knob in the clean channel or it wouldn't make a difference?
Thank you my brother! To be honest, I have no idea what my settings were lol. But this amp is very easy to EQ and get a good sound. My pickups are Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounds in the neck and bridge.
Daniel Rettberg Peter i tried one this afternoon at a store and it really sounded well! Have you tried plugging a tubescreamer type pedal in front of this beauty?
I tried using a Blues Driver on the dirty channel one time as a lead boost, but it didn't work that well lol. However, I didn't try it on the clean channel. Maybe the store will let you try out the combination of the two..? In my experience, pedals work better with tube amps, but you should definitely try it.
It won't cut through the mix like a Fender tube amp, but it definitely has enough volume to be heard in a full band situation, especially if it's mic'd. Thanks for watching!
Upgrade the Speaker ( Celestion v30 - Eminence governor etc have a higher sensivity ) , gain sound -Volume improves much - should be no problem - Or mic it !
Oh yes, there is definitely an outlet for the footswitch.. You can see it at 4:18. The problem is, the CR60 does not come with a footswitch for channel switching.. It is sold separately. Most amplifiers will include the footswitch, but for some reason, it is not included with the CR60. This is my only complaint concerning this amplifier. Thanks for watching!
Hey Daniel, great review! I just bought one last week. So far it sounds amazing! I was messing around and playing some power chords on the clean channel but noticed a weird "fuzzy" sound came from the speaker. It sounded like there was some gain/distortion on it. The same sound came out when I was switching back and forth with the pickups. This sound occurs the most when playing an E power chord though. Is this normal for the Orange CR60 clean settings?
Thanks a lot, man! I'm glad you like it! Hmmmm really? I've never had that problem, but I can see where you're coming from.. Forgive me if these suggestions seem too obvious. Did you mess around with the EQ? It's possible that there's too much bass. It's on the clean channel, right? If it's on the dirty channel and the gain is turned low, it's possible that there could be a little bit of fuzz, yet the sound is still relatively clean. Does it only happen when you're playing power chords on clean? Does it happen when you play a full E major chord? Try playing full chords and see if it happens. Have you tried using a different guitar? Is the dirty channel sounding alright? Overall, I might get a "fuzzy" sound if I'm playing too hard on the clean channel. In my case, I only play power chords if I'm on the dirty channel.
Thanks for the suggestions! I’m getting back into the game after a 8 year hiatus, so pardon this amateur comment. The guitar I’m using is a Les Paul studio, I bought it this month as well, so I would hope it’s not the guitar! It’s mainly when I play the Em chord where “fuzzy” sound is the most noticeable. I messed around with the EQ, even turned the bass and treble to 0 and just used the clean volume, and the same thing occurred. I switched to my old, dusty Randall amp, and play the same chord “aggressively” and it didn’t buzz. The dirty channel on the Orange sounds great and seems perfectly fine to me. I had a feeling I was just going too hard on the clean channel. Realistically, what I was playing should have been done on the dirty channel. If I play something more mellow like the intro to Metallica’s Fade to Black, then it sounds fine! I was just worried that something was wrong with the speaker already where I bought this amp new and hadn't even cranked it to its full potential yet. If you get that “fuzzy” sound when you’re going too hard on the clean channel as well then maybe it’s just how the amp reacts to chords when they’re played too hard in general, and not my specific amp alone!
I played through my clean channel earlier and noticed the same thing. It's only when I play harder, then the sound gets a little fuzzy. That's interesting because I never noticed that before haha. I play mostly through the dirty channel, and if I want clean, I turn down the volume on the guitar itself. I recently bought a Les Paul Studio, and it does the job quite nicely. I like this amp a lot, but it's not perfect. However, I love the "British" tone that this amp provides. It's very loud, as well. The reverb is incredible, in my opinion. I wish I could take the reverb on this amp and put it in another amp haha. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Well, I definitely feel a bit more relieved that it's not just my amp making that "fuzzy" sound. I guess it's an Orange thing. I also use the dirty channel majority of the time as well. I don't need to go hard on the clean channel anyways haha. It's a great amp, and I'm happy with it. It's definitely got a unique classic tone which sounds phenomenal. I still need to experiment with the reverb, but I love what I've heard so far. I need to put some time with this one before moving onto the tube world. It's a great investment for a solid state. Thanks a lot for taking the time for helping me out man, greatly appreciated!
Great review! I've had this amp about a year and you're right, it's built like a tank. Can I ask is that tele a mim model? And is pickguard sold already on it? It looks sweet! Thanks in advance.
Thanks a lot, man! I really appreciate it.. Yeah, it's a Mexican tele. The pickguard was originally white, but I bought another one that was pearloid, and then I put Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounds in the neck and bridge positions. Thanks for watching!
How would you rate this amp for clean sounds and for someone playing genres including funk, jazz, Rnb and Rock? I'm looking for an amp that will keep me until I can afford something in the thousand range.
This amp is incredibly versatile. You can play almost any style of music with it. Back in the day, I used to be in a cover band, and we played rock, reggae, funk, etc.. This amp adapted to every song that we played. For the price, this amp is awesome. Hope this helps.. Thanks for watching!
Great to .......what’s your band setup? I’m thinking of swapping out my Fender Bassbreaker15 combo for an Orange as I think the Brit tones better, especially using a Les Paul..........does it cut through in a band? (We’re talking pub band playing MOR old school rock stuff, so crunch tone, clean tone with pedals ) Cheers
Okay. After two years are you still using it? For gigging purpose I use a Quilter pro block 200 watts with a 2x10 Quilter cab. I was deciding either a 2x12 Orange cab or a combo 60 or 120. I don’t take my Mesa or Fender tube amps out because of weight and tendency to break easily.
Hallo guys! Do you think a Gold Alnico 12" 15 ohm 50W would fit into the CR60? I talk about the size (alnicos are slightly bigger than ceramic speakers) and about the watts and impendence. Thanks in advance!

Very very good review, especially as a Tele owner as well. This amp sounds really well designed
Thanks a lot, man! It's a cool amp.. Sounds good and it's dependable. You're a great guitar player, by the way. Thanks for watching!
Excellent review. I've been using the 120 for 6 years now straight. It replaced all my tube amps. I just own two crush pros now for all the reasons you mentioned.
This is a great video demonstration. Really appreciate it, and I'm going to pick one of these up! ty
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it.
My biggest regret is parting company with my cr60. Such a fantastic amp
The end part sounded the best. Haven’t heard it in a long time but it sounded like Lenny from SRV. Nice tone !
Wow, thank you so much man! You just made my night.. I really appreciate your kind words. I will definitely make more videos.. Thanks for watching!
your review helped me decide to buy this exact amp. great job. great tone demonstrations.
the song you play is so good for this review
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
Perfect review! Great playing and also good sound. (finally a review without an overloaded and compressed distortion)
I am about to try one in the store at the upcoming weekend.
Just one thing, when you review, each time you play a different sound, try showing the EQ and settings for 2 - 3 sec.
I know that sound mostly depends on the guitar and many other things, but taking a look at the settings might give us a clue about the amp's character / personality / color (not literally ;))
Keep on!
ruclips.net/video/eoM4XdZK2DI/видео.html
like that :)
Nice! At 4:18, it looks like there's 2 speaker outputs.. So you should be able to, as long as the ohms match up. No problem at all! Thanks!
fueradeljuego alternate picked MOP....street cred=0... lol... nice review though
Best demo of this amp , so far.....great job, Great playing!
Thanks a lot, man! I really appreciate your kind words..
The only review of this amp that matters, Aloha!!!
Wow, thanks a lot for that amazing compliment. Very cool of you to say! Thanks for watching!
Thank YOU brother...The other comments are true, Orange Amps should sponsor you. BTW, your channel is awesome!!!
Thank you!! You are the man! That would be awesome if I worked with Orange.. We'll see, you never know. Wishing you all the best, my friend.
I was a tube Fender snob. No more. I love the sound and simple features of this amp to no end.
Great video Daniel!!! I Really enjoy your friend turning nods showing/hearing tones...awesome.
Thanks man! I really appreciate it.. Yeah, he's the one who films and edits my videos. He's amazing. Thanks for watching!
Sounds amazing. Killer chops brother! 🤘
Sounds great. Especially the Jeff Beck! I’m gonna get one for sure now.
I want to buy this amp soon. I used Orange Crush 20RT for about a month, but I think it's better to spend money on good amp!
A real good tube amp is expensive
Daniel: is there a ‘crush pro 60’ and a ‘crush 60’ ? If so what’s the difference? Cheers from U.K :)
Rob Nolan the crush cr120/60 and crush pro cr120/60 are one and the same amp. It may be a difference in US vs EU marketing thing or just the way different youtubers label their videos, idk. But rest assured they are the same amp
I always thought tube amps sounded better than solid state…..retired a 59 Bassman for this amp. Great cleans!
Excellent review and love you're playing man.
I have this amp and it is very cool!
You are a really great player
I didnt know quarter pounds pick ups
Thank you greetings from france
Thank you so much, man! I really appreciate it.. Greetings from the U.S.
Watched the demo stayed to see his playing, he smashed it!!!wish i cud play like him 😟
Vai and John mayer at the end? Awesome sound and playing
Thanks a lot, man. I really appreciate that.. doing my best. Thanks for watching!
Hey there! would you say that the clean channel would be a good pedal platform? I'm thinking tube screamers, fuzz's, wah, and even a rat...
Love the Funk #49 riff and the nod to Dixie Dregs!!
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it
Best review of the cr. Want one!
Thanks a lot, bro! I really appreciate it.
thanks for this in depth review. was looking for an affordable and durable Orange tone that would work and sound just as well mic'd to the PA as it does sitting in the living room. buying one of these on black friday 2020. also going with the black amp box instead of traditional orange color. offset the lacquer and tweeds I've already got.
i'm gonna buy this amp no matter what.
Awesome! I'm glad this video helped you in some way. Thanks for watching!
asr 01 Man I love mine.
How come some of the CR60Cs have the "Crush Pro" plate on the front, and some don't?
I'm wondering the same. Maybe the newest ones have that plate?
Could the CR60 be keep up with a drummer and still be relatively clean. I play mostly 60s British Invasion and post punk.
Great review thanks
Great overview... I never regret my Orange Crush 35 RT 👌👍🎶🎸
Nice! The gain on the CR is great.. Thanks for watching!
you will totally need a distortion pedal for that alice sound though. hope it sounds good, but get a pedal, and wah pedal too, jerry uses those also
skyflyer yea I ended up picking up the Friedman BE-OD pedal which really makes the amp crank the Cantrell wah I’ve had for about 3 years love it.
To be honest, Blackstar makes a great solid state amp as well.
excellent review sir, really showed me what my amp is capable of doing :)
Thank you very much for your kind words, and thanks for watching! Glad I can help.
Nice sound of the Orange CR60. Is it OK for rhythm guitarists/vocalists?
How is it at low volumes? This would be mostly a bedroom/home studio amp.
Sounds awesome at low volumes !
It's great at low volumes. Thanks for watching!
I was a tube purist, but this amp rocks!!! Orange OR15 for sale.....
This dude just played master of puppets on a tele... interesting
TigSB Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounds 👌🏻
I think it's funny when people say that 🤣, I've seen "can you olay metal with a Tele".
I can play grindcore on ukulele.
aside from the obvious fact that you can play anything on anything, you'd apparently be surprised at how many metal guitarists actually make use of the Tele... never underestimate the power of a lone single coil and a master gain killswitch; no tone knobs necessary
@@euphority_delay7978 the gorest comment I've seen so far
Was that slither?
Hello! Do you think this amp would be better if it had a middle tone knob in the clean channel or it would not make a big difference if it did?
You have convinced me to get one, Rodge David Kidderminster uk😀
Awesome! I'm really glad that you liked my review. Cheers!
Hi! I am planning on buying this amp. Do you think this amp would be better if it had a middle tone knob in the clean channel or it wouldn't make a difference?
Nice demo/review. As you said it got that british sound. the sound of hendrix fills was spot on. Is the amp overkill to use it at home?
Thanks man! This amp can get really quiet.. It'll work as a great practice amp. Thanks for watching!
Great demo man! What are your overdrive settings when you play MOP? Tone sounds so tight.
Thank you my brother! To be honest, I have no idea what my settings were lol. But this amp is very easy to EQ and get a good sound. My pickups are Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounds in the neck and bridge.
I just ordered one, arriving tomorrow!
Aiming for this one! Nice review btw!
Thanks man! Yeah, I think you'll like it.. very versatile amp.
In my experience, pedals work better with tube amps, but you should definitely try it.
thanks for answering Daniel. It helps a lot. One of these days I will visit again the store and try to hook up a screamer in front. Cheers dude!
Right on, man! Glad to help you out.
I was ready to checkout once i heard the overdrive sound but stayed because dude looks like Gavin from RoosterTeeth
got this amp a year ago and it's absolutely the best ! \m/
#PunkRockfromGuyana
Awesome man! Greetings from Michigan (USA).. Thanks for watching!
Broncos!
What settings would you recommend for the dirty channel to get a Jim root sort of tone ?
Thanks for the review. Do you recommend this amp instead of a Laney Cub12r for playing at home?
Whoa. I appreciate the stranglehold riff👌🍻
Great review. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks man! Glad this was helpful to you. Thanks for watching!
I'ts loud enough to use in small places with drums;bass and other instruments?
It won't cut through the mix like a Fender tube amp, but it definitely has enough volume to be heard in a full band situation, especially if it's mic'd. Thanks for watching!
Upgrade the Speaker ( Celestion v30 - Eminence governor etc have a higher sensivity ) , gain sound -Volume improves much - should be no problem - Or mic it !
the footswitch is next to the power outlet !check out it, its inside under next to the power connection
Thanks for watching!
very well done! you rock brother!!
Thanks a lot! I appreciate that.. I feel really good now. Thanks for watching!
How does this keep up volume-wise with a drummer for punk/indie music? Does it break up at louder dirty tones? Does it weight a ton?
No problem at all. I'm really glad that you're getting back into playing!
Tele sounds great, lots of output to it. Quarter pound pickups?
Thanks man! Yeah, Quarter Pounds in the neck and bridge. Thanks for watching!
Daniel Rettberg Peter Very cool! I’m gonna put those in my tele as well, they sound great.
Average listener doesn't know or care the difference. Average player either. I have a fender deluxe and a SS Orange. Love both.
elvislives81677 I love my fender deluxe as well! Amazing sound..
Well I've got my cr60 now, more than happy, just need a cover. I've giged it twice, unmiked, big thanks to Daniel
Rodge David Kidderminster UK😀☘
Awesome man! I'm glad you like it
Great to .......what’s your band setup?
I still use it for practice. For gigs, I either use my Mesa or my Fender Deluxe. I've used the CR60 for a lot of gigs and it sounded great.
I owned and AC30, got too heavy. Got an Orange Rocker 32, then got this.
I'm looking for an amp to play live in some pubs, do you think It Is suitable for this? Thank you for your advice
Hallo guys! Do you think a Gold Alnico 12" 15 ohm 50W would fit into the CR60? I talk about the size (alnicos are slightly bigger than ceramic speakers) and about the watts and impendence. Thanks in advance!
