    Intel i9 14900k( IMO ) is the better of the 2. But the margin is so narrow you couldn’t go wrong with either. I just upgraded my pc and now have the 14900k and so far it has been amazing! 0 problems. I am very happy with it. Looking forward to retiring the 4060 GPU I have and replacing it with a MSI 5090( when that drops ).

    currently more and more people are facing problems (heat & unstable) on intel 14900k cpu etc... still waiting for actual solution from intel while many tried to reduce voltage to run their cpu at reduced performance. .

      @gjallarhorn456 5 месяцев назад +2

      The solution is getting an aio to fit the cpu. If you know a chip rund hot get an extra chilly aio like the corsair H150i.
      My 14900k running at 6.2Ghz hasn't had a single issue since I got it.

      @@gjallarhorn456 Sadly you just won the silicone lottery, there seem to be very common defects in the 14900k that are leading to crashes, throttling and in the worst cases the chip dying after only a few weeks/months, even though they're adequately cooled. Very disappointing on Intel's part.

      Having good airflow in the case is also another really really big factor that often goes over-looked.
      This was what happened to me, but my case has vents on the top and bottom, but when it was standing up-right there wasn't a lot of clearance near the bottom for good air flow (the feet were about 1.5 inches tall). So one day I rotated the case so it sat on the front cover, but now the vents were completely open for both pulling and pushing out air, and I swear 2 gawd, it was running about 10 - 15 degrees Celsius cooler just doing that ❤

    Intel needs quite a bit more power to outperform AMD and still gets beaten in some games.

      It still has more cores, and is a better multitasking CPU.

      Intel is for multi tasking not just gaming. Most ryzen cpus score like shit in multi task tests.

      @@yzuniga13sa Humm... no. AMD's hardware multitasking (SMT) is MUCH BETTER than Intel's fake multicores that require a bunch of software optimization to work. In real world you see the difference when your Intel starts to choke and overheat with multiple browser tabs and the AMD is just fine. Benchmarks are not real life.

      @@maxpower7787 literally only one CPU from AMD can run with the big intel dogs, the rest are shit for performance. All these youtubers run gaming benchmarks that don't apply to real life multitask scenarios. Most AMD processors can't even score 15k in cinebench, the cheapest intel 12th gen does well over that, no sweat. GTFOH with your "at the same power level" bs, it doesn't matter how much power they use as long as they perform. Stick to gaming brah, dont speak on matters you know nothing about.

    The thing a lot of people are forgetting is the i9 isnt designed for 1080p gaming. Pop it on 4K and the difference will be noticeable

    • @zapf6987

      What you're forgetting is that limiting to 1080p forces a CPU bottleneck. Makes it easier to see the differences.

    The 7950X3D is much better when considering power consumption and heating. Intel's LITTLE.big architecture is just horrible and look like a scam. Like early HT, it requires many software optimizations that cripple the performance of other architectures, including older Intel processors. I certainly wouldn't encourage Intel that way. They always mess up the whole software ecosystem with their software optimizations. For each new Intel processor, a new benchmark is published, making it impossible to really compare the performance gap with the previous generation. Intel cheats, as always... Long live to AMD!

      I have the i7-12700K and I agree the E-cores are very problematic in many games. Most software hasn't been written properly to avoid the E-Cores or utilize them properly. I've had some success with Process Lasso keeping games off of the E-cores, in many cases resolving stuttering, but for other games preventing the use of E-cores will simply cause them to crash. Overall performance has been pretty good on my i7-12700K and RTX 3080, but with certain games the E-Cores have been a nightmare for me.

    I went with the 7950x3d instead of the i9 only because 75% of all the chips out there are failing left and right and intel specifically said they will not do anything about it besides releasing a patch that as we all know probably won’t fix the problem. Once the chip is corrupted and failing there is NOTHING you can do to save it, the chip will die and take other parts with it. It’s like putting a bandaid over a bullet wound. Go with AMD
