Badass build. One thing ill suggest is changing your gearing to raise your top speed. Diesels dont rev high but they got torque so you can get away with tall gearing. Love the build nonetheless.

Sure diesel engines have torque but not this one. The engine is advertised to have 8 nm of torque. That converts to 5.9 ft/lbs. A stock 196 has 8 ft/lbs of torque.
I have this engine on my reel mower. Brother in law helped to weld a piece of metal on the frame and move the engine back a bit since the backplate is so big. Half the horsepower & not as much peak torque as a gas engine of this size (5 lb-ft vs 8lb-ft) but I really like it.
And it'll run on damn near anything; diesel, vegetable oil, used motor oil, etc.
Hmm there is a youtuber claiming these engines have 25 ft lb of torque?
@@hksjoshuaWhoever it is, he's tripping. I have a few of these engines. 3 horse @ 3000 RPM. Using the formula power = torque * RPM / 5252, that means torque is 5252*Power/RPM, or 3*5252/3000 or 5.25 ft*lbs. The Chinese make this and a 10 horse 418cc (186F) that are imported into the US but they also have larger engines (188F, 190F, 192F, 195F) that they are not allowed to sell here :( I talked to a factory rep on Alibaba, and she said that if they could meet the EPA stage 4(?) requirements, they'd be selling the F out of them to us :)
Future motorcycle gangs, unable to afford to own or put fuel in a Harley Davidson, will have to adopt these. Its the future.

It’ll do 45-50 on flat ground and maybe 20 on hilly off-road terrain. The torque converter really helps.

Might seem a bit hard hitting 8k rpm with a diesel, given the compression, but good luck and keep us updated!
@@TacticalPhoenixYTmaybe 4,000 RPM. Anything over and your not making power. Diesel rev low and make all there power down low in the powerband that why diesel engines are better for pulling or pushing heavy vehicles like buses and trucks. The worlds most powerful engine (diesel powered) pumps something close to almost half a million pounds of torque at like 105 RPM. Not even close to even close to 1,000 rpm let alone 8k lol
@@dieselbossbrandon The difference is, those diesels have been designed ground up to be diesel. This engine seems to be a gas engine conversion, as it has a small stroke, but a decked head for high compression. And for light motorized vehicles, turning high RPMS is valuable, even if it doesnt make much power at said rpms.

Would this engine be a better alternate than a predator 212? My little brother wants a faster minibike after seeing my stage 4 224 but I’m not sure he can’t handle the torque of a predator just yet
Pretty much all I’m wondering is how quick does the torque come after applying throttle, his current mini requires him to give it just about full throttle from a stop to do anything, and I don’t want him unwilling popping the wheel up as he’s never experienced it
Not really. This engine has the same torque as a 212,but way less horsepower. You I'll be much better off with the 212. This engine is just good for diesel bragging rights.

@@DatHondaBoi223 Yeah, just keep the governor on the 212. If you dont want him accelerating too fast, give him a high gearing, but if you want him to have a low top speed, give him a low gearing.
