Hey there, just wanted to let you know my 10 year old daughter’s favourite thing to do before bed is to watch one of your restoration videos with me. It’s great daddy daughter time. Her favourite part is when you organize and line up all the parts after disassembly. Cheers, and keep up the great videos. - A thankful dad
To be fair, when I was a kid we had a system like this, and I played that for hours and hours. I was a dumb kid and anything with a screen and buttons could hold my attention
I had one of these ones back in '97, the same model and build. About 15 years later, while digging around a shed my father stacked things into, i found this lying in an old box. For curiosity's sake i turn it on and not only is it working, it has a tetris game my dad had on level four while paused. Fun fact: you can pause, turn it off, turn it on and it will still work, but to have it locked up 15 years, still saved up and with the same original batteries was just amazing. I still have the console around here, but i changed the batteries.
I have about 70 of the older Brick Games (~1990-2001) in 2021, and obviously I know about the pause function working when turned off, but to have one keep a game for 15 years is amazing! These UM6510s are very good to batteries (although my 9 in 1 ES99 and 300 in 1 E300 arrived from Italy both with corroded terminals - coincidence...?) whereas the earliest single-game E23s drain any batteries left in them.
I HAD THAT GAME! My parents bought one for each of my two siblings and me, to play during a 12 hour road trip. *We didn´t know how to mute it.* Imagine a road trip with 3 kids in the back simultaneously loudly playing music like 19:15 FOR TWELVE HOURS. My poor parents...

I’ve owned one of this back in the 90’s. I was so good at playing Tetris. I discovered that when you hit 999,999,999 points. The score simply resets and the game only ends when you die.
I had this game several years ago ... It brings back some good memories. 16:50 I also do this on all plastic devices. Thankfully, I'm not the only one to do that.
Ahh! I had one of these when I was younger! Tons of fun and hours played on it. I loved listening to the KALINKA theme it had for the Tetris mode. ^_^ Thanks for saving one of these games.
3:38 I laughed louder than I should have Also to be fair the sound effects are tolerable… the problem is the jingles (also for those who can't tell, there are three volume levels, hence needing to press the SOUND button several times to mute it)
Jeez, I thought that stuff made back then was decent quality, but wow. I actually have a thing with older tech, considering I have an old Nintendo DS that I broke the hinge on. The plastic cement is drying as I speak. I would love something like this. Working obviously. 😀 keep up the amazing work bro.
Truth to be told, my Mom used to have a machine like this. To this day, after more than 30 years of introducing video gaming to her, Terits is still one of her best favour ( the only other one is Battle City from Namco ) and the only game that she is still playing. The only difference is that instead of a Chinese made knock off machine like this one, she has been upgraded to a pour owner of a Game Boy Advance as a gift from her favor son --- me XD Your restoration should not really called a restoration. This is because after what you have done on it, I believe that it is in a better state than it was freshly from the factory
This is the sturdy product i have missed. I have bought one of the new versions but the material quality and workmanship suck. I sensed the difference at the first touch.Aliexpres screwed up everything.
Nostalgia: I got this thing when I was little and I played this thing so much that I forced anyone around me to play this game even if they didn’t want to. Good times
Dad: What do you need a gameboy thing for, I bought you that other video game and you hardly touch it Me: that thing sucks all the games are the same Dad: well if it sucks then I'll take it Me: plz no
This is so nostalgic and cool :) I used to have one when i was 8 years old. I did not have any console in my childhood, and this was the closest to one.
I have had exactly that! It was my only type of console before I got a GBA ad a teen. Got it from a flea market here in Germany. Amazing to see this after so long...
Had a feeling many years ago that this console would get so iconic that 2 decades later there would be a careful ASMR restoration of the contraption. Nickel plating the battery contacts?! Damn son, this thing is goona run forever!
I had this shit as a kid. It felt awesome when we werent so spolied. Now kids have access to smartphones since toddlers and this console can never catch their attention. Great video as always!
I remember when I was a kid that my parents promised me that they would get my a Game Boy Color for my birthday, but instead they got me this thing. I think it's needless to say how I reacted about it 😜😅

That Nickle electroplating of the battery contacts shows you are one hardcore restoration ace.
I’ve owned one of this back in the 90’s. I was so good at playing Tetris. I discovered that when you hit 999,999,999 points. The score simply resets and the game only ends when you die.
I remember playing these growing up. It was fun at the time. Glad this was given a second chance to play.
I remember having to steal batteries around my house to play this thing
I had this game several years ago ... It brings back some good memories. 16:50 I also do this on all plastic devices. Thankfully, I'm not the only one to do that.
Ahh! I had one of these when I was younger! Tons of fun and hours played on it. I loved listening to the KALINKA theme it had for the Tetris mode. ^_^ Thanks for saving one of these games.
3:38 I laughed louder than I should have
Also to be fair the sound effects are tolerable… the problem is the jingles (also for those who can't tell, there are three volume levels, hence needing to press the SOUND button several times to mute it)
This reminds me of a joystick I used to own. It had tons of 80s arcade games on it that my family and I used to play.

Guy: remove those slowly
Me: *SMACK IT OVER THE TABLE*
Jeez, I thought that stuff made back then was decent quality, but wow. I actually have a thing with older tech, considering I have an old Nintendo DS that I broke the hinge on. The plastic cement is drying as I speak. I would love something like this. Working obviously. 😀 keep up the amazing work bro.
Se aprende muchísimo aquí! Gracias por tu sabiduría, saludos desde Uruguay 🇺🇾
Ooooh, so excited. Needed something to relax to.
Alice Golden damn youre pretty lol
7:15 What! No Ducktor?
I'm truly disappointed
Ducktor called in sick for this session.
...introduced us to the Funky Brush @ 8:24 tho
HOLY HELL IT'S THIS THING I THOUGHT I WAS IMAGINING IT
Truth to be told, my Mom used to have a machine like this. To this day, after more than 30 years of introducing video gaming to her, Terits is still one of her best favour ( the only other one is Battle City from Namco ) and the only game that she is still playing. The only difference is that instead of a Chinese made knock off machine like this one, she has been upgraded to a pour owner of a Game Boy Advance as a gift from her favor son --- me XD
Your restoration should not really called a restoration.
Good times
Dad: What do you need a gameboy thing for, I bought you that other video game and you hardly touch it
Me: that thing sucks all the games are the same
Dad: well if it sucks then I'll take it
Me: plz no
Ah the negotiator
omg.. The first one I had had 8 games. Then I got another one which had 99. So much fun those days! It's nice to remember.
There's a beautiful honest charm to these handhelds.
For $2 I can easily buy a brand new one, but to see some abused things got restored is really satisfying
You know, I know this guy who goes by 'The Mechanic' that will buy one of these for a whole Bitcoin!
Wow. That's about 40,000 dollars
I still remember the day my parents bought me this when I asked them for a Gameboy
"Heres that specific Gameboy you asked for son, now enjoy it!"
This video brought back so many memories of my childhood... Thank you 😊
16:50 Yup, been using that technique for years, i learned it from Hot Rod Magazine back in the day 😉
Man if i was able to send my broken 3ds, or my scratched screen wii u, i would be so happy
Same, but with my DSi :(
@@idleaccount531 DS lite for me. Cracked hinge. Or my NES and SNES for retrobrighting purposes.
I'd bring in my pacman plug and play because it keeps shorting and the wires won't work unless they are in a specific position
@@renefigueroa6309 oh GOD i know how u feel when you need to have the wires in a certain position. Its a pain in my anus.
Same but with all my gameboy games that the save battery died and my dads that broke in halve
I remember having this throughout my childhood, it's nostalgic to see it again.
I think that 'Brick Game' "consoles" are the most popular bootleg multi-game toys
Опа, Тетрис!
Лучшая портативная консоль моего детства, а графика вообще улет :)
90's kid who had one of these because we couldn't afford a Gameboy, Nostalgia
I had one of this in Black..Thank You for reminding old Memories.. Love from Mumbai ✌🏻
0:41 That smile on the device makes my day
I guess I could say it looks like a pretty good hand-held gaming system even for an old one
I remember when I was a kid that my parents promised me that they would get my a Game Boy Color for my birthday, but instead they got me this thing. I think it's needless to say how I reacted about it 😜😅
Let me guess, cried like a bitch and threw the thing on the ground
Lmao
Random Egg geez he was making a joke lol
@@hamdanahmed8751 in all fairness it's pretty shitty to promise a kid something for their birthday and then not get them the thing you promised.
Damn your parents were savage LOL
meanwhile ashens literally said when he chopped one up
'i have so many of these theyre literally worthless'
Old people would call these gameboys back in the day lol.
This is the most satisfying thing I could find on RUclips, thanks.
