I know this comment is tongue-in-cheek, but if your job consists of nothing but answering questions that are already recorded in documents... maybe you do need to be replaced. Presumably, a tool like this is to free us up for the fun work.
Microsoft has a variety of different plan options. You either need a license, there’s a pay as you go model, or if you have at least 50 Copilot licenses, you get 10,000 queries per month for non Copilot license users. Check the description for a link to the Microsoft FAQ on the feature for more details.
Thanks Kevin for all you do. It's been a huge help for me. I do have a request though, if you don't mind ? I need direction on getting the new Microsoft 2024 Flight Simulator up and running on my PC. Things like how to make the purchase at Microsoft and start up from there. I only intended to use a joy stick .... Thank you ...
Are there alternatives using other LLMs like ChatGPT or Claude inside of the Microsoft ecosystem if you do not have a copilot license through the company?
I do not see the "create agent" Option... Do you need to have a Copilot Studio Subscription or how do you get this running? I do have the paid Copilot license...
I have a label Master Document for various topics. Perhaps I can create an agent to use them as its source. Only problem is my company is VERY SLOW to allow anything new.
Check with Microsoft for the latest. Here’s my current understanding of licensing options: (1) users need a Copilot license to interact with the agent. (2) Microsoft also has an option where users without Copilot get up to a combined 10,000 free queries a month if at least 50 users in your org have Copilot. (3) They also have pay as you go options available.
No. If someone without permissions asks a question and the agent uses information they don’t have access to, the creator of the agent will need to grant permission first.
"Every SharePoint site now comes with a pre-made Copilot that's scoped to all of the content stored." FALSE. Only if the tenant in which one works is paying for Copilot. For many of us, might as well stop watching right there--probably most employers are NOT paying for Copilot in their tenant.
I don't see this option on my sharepoint sites. Microsoft's habit of using the same name for multiple things is probably the issue here. I'm assuming this only works if your organization has purchased a copilot license for you.
Yes thanks for the update. @@KevinStratvert Our organisation has SharePoint and Teams but we don't have CoPilot so we won't be able to use this new feature
you need a business or educational subscriotion, a real shame for personal subscribers! You can add teams essential to the personal account, but not sharepoint!!

Best under 10 minute video of SharePoint copilot I’ve seen. Thanks Kevin, great job!
This video just motivated a local community club to upgrade their Microsoft 365 subscription so they will have SharePoint services now.
Now, they just need to pay for Copilot services XD
We really need more of these vidéos on Microsoft 365 for Enterprise and Copilot
Thanks again Kevin for the tips 👍
Really this gives a new meaning to training your replacement, what happens after a year 😅

Excellent video as always! :)
Please always try to cover the license part. It is more trickier than coding the AI itself :)
Finally, a solution for when Karen from accounting asks for the 2019 budget file for the 47th time! 🤖📂 SharePoint Agents to the rescue!
Lol, you are funny, especially WHEN Karen works in HR 😅
Man you are genius ❤
Interesting addition to SharePoint, I just wonder how it behaves when some users don't have access to some of its reference documents.
Excellent video
Currently, 4 people in our company have a Copilot license. Do all users in our company need a Copilot license to use the AI Agent in Sharepoint?

@@KevinStratvert please make a video on the licensing.

great 👍
Good❤❤❤
My sharepoint does not have the "create an agent" feature. What should I do then ?
It is being Available to Customers worldwide in phased manner . I also got access today only.
@@BizzInnovate Thank you for the response, really appreciate it

They just started rolling out the feature yesterday, so it may take some time before it lights up in your tenant.
Can these agents be connected to Business Central to retrieve data?
6:46 Not trying to act smart or anything, but peanuts are not nuts, they are legumes 🤓. Yes I'm fun at parties.
Reinforces the importance of double checking Copilot output 😆
I have a label Master Document for various topics. Perhaps I can create an agent to use them as its source. Only problem is my company is VERY SLOW to allow anything new.
Yep, not available at my company.
Do the other users need to have any special license in order to interact with the created agent?
Check with Microsoft for the latest. Here’s my current understanding of licensing options: (1) users need a Copilot license to interact with the agent. (2) Microsoft also has an option where users without Copilot get up to a combined 10,000 free queries a month if at least 50 users in your org have Copilot. My experience of copilot to date vs other AI'S has been abysmal 😢
does it need a copilot licence?
Hello what type of interview questions Microsoft ask for office 365 technical advisor
Thanks
But what about folders that have restricted permissions? Will it leak that information to someone that doesn't have access to it if they simply ask?
No. If someone without permissions asks a question and the agent uses information they don’t have access to, the creator of the agent will need to grant permission first.
My SharePoint doesn’t have this option. Is it paid separately?
"Every SharePoint site now comes with a pre-made Copilot that's scoped to all of the content stored." FALSE. Only if the tenant in which one works is paying for Copilot. For many of us, might as well stop watching right there--probably most employers are NOT paying for Copilot in their tenant.
Can multiple people collaborate in one agent?
Yes! It’s stored as a .agent file in SharePoint and anyone with access can edit the agent.
I don't see this option on my sharepoint sites. Microsoft's habit of using the same name for multiple things is probably the issue here. I'm assuming this only works if your organization has purchased a copilot license for you.
They started rolling this out today, which is why it might not be showing up just yet. You’ll need a Copilot license.
