      John 3:16-19
16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave[a] his one and only Son Jesus, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son Jesus into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in Jesus. But anyone who does not believe in Jesus has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. 19 And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.”

The master of phrasing. Each note is perfect in its tone, duration, intensity, tamber, modulation. He is a musical juggler, keeping 10 balls flawlessly in the air. He thinks entire sections ahead and ties the first note to the last. And the seasoning is his impeccable musicality, his absolutely correct interpretation. Bach is nodding in approval.

Bream’s playing of Bach speaks for itself. It is perfect beauty. The lines are clear, independent, singing, with direction, cadence and meaning. The guitar is not a keyboard, violin, violoncello and so the interpretation and performance of these textures on guitar will be a bit idiosyncratic. Music and interpretation of music evolves somewhat over the ages. Bream’s Bach enlightened an entire generation and more.

I just love his interpretation he doesn’t make it any more or less than what it is. He’s not the least bit pompous or contrived the music stands alone and he served it well.

Because nowdays we have ethnomusicology, historiography and et al resources that give us relevant feedback on how this pieces were played back in their time. This performer's version may sound nice but it's an aberration if we speak about baroque style and templates lol voices are never heard clearly he shuts down lines and always accents one over the others that's the worst possible way to play early music specially Bach. When you play Bach every voice is a melody and must be made just as relevant as the others there's no accompainment chords or lines here each line is a perfectly complete melody on it's own and they simply converge on the whole piece. Then he also makes a lot of gameplay on the tempo that is fine for romantic music but not baroque and I could go on on a ton of mistakes he does. Old doesn't necesarily mean good here at all.
