If you are a senior driver for hunt and they close down your lane, they are not going to fire you. They will offer you a different gig. If they don't have a gig you like, too bad so sad. You gotta run what's available.
Not really if a DCS contract shuts down the driver can just transfer to another DCS contract. Now if you’re in an area that has no other contracts then that could be a problem.
When Amazon shut down part of the Texas JBHunt the drivers moved around. Houston San Antonio drivers went to Dallas fleet or another contract.
Even all the dispatchers simply transferred to another contract. DFW probably has over 100 contracts alone sure LA area has more

I have never ever seen this country so messed up as it is now! I grew up when JFK was still living and lived through Jimmy Carter and have never seen anything like this! So many layoffs, cut backs and business’s shitting down.

We are in the middle lower class. We don't feel totally awful of the economy. There is a difference between total collapse and maybe a needed change.
The 99cent stores aren't always the best value. Sure cheap but buying it a little bigger normal size product at a regular store can be less per unit.
Plus if not as cash rich don't need a whole bunch of 99 cent nick knacks that will get tossed. Rather have real food or if extra money say replace a bigger maybe worn out broken fun item.

My friend got fired from the 99 account about two weeks before they announced layoffs. They are trying to transfer as many drivers as possible though.
The worst trucking companies that any driver could ever work for Bancroft & SONS /Grand Prairie, Texas. MCLEOD EXPRESS, Decatur, Illinois Navajo trucking Denver, Colorado ,Giltner transport Jerome,Idaho .Swift/CRST/knight transportation/Luther transport Illinois/do not work for any trucking company out of the state of Illinois especially Russian own companies. They are ripping Truck Driver's off. These companies are the worst of the worst do not work for these companies 95%marten transport, CRST .. Luther logistics is a complete rip off coopersville Michigan ,and they’re out of the state of Michigan Do not waste your time. JB Hunt, is the most racist company. Yeah. I thought it would've been too. I thought JBI would be getting all of those loads, but JBI is super slow too. JBI is the one division all the DCS accounts rely upon for outsource work when things are slow. There isn't anyting available, and when there is, it's the shit places that nobody wants to go to lol. When JBI is slow and doesn't have enough work to go around, you know things are bad.

That's how business works. Just being a CDL holder, you are more of a commodity and an asset. Learn your power.
Thats why you don't haul for single dedicated customer. Dedicated routes not dedicated customer.

We've been on the same dedicated account for 10 years now. We're the sole trucking company they use for this district. We have older trucks that are paid for so we can go up and down with the rate as the time dictates. Those companies that have very high overhead are the ones struggling.

I worked on dedicated accounts that closed. When that happened the company let us transfer to another fleet.

Im a local driver for JB Hunt Intermodal in the midwest and i can attest that JB Hunt is doing exceptionally well. Hell they are offering an extra $200 bucks this week to work a 6th day and have been for a month now. Thats like a 500-550 dollar day. I turn down loads at the end of the day if it isnt going to get me home in time.

Cutting rates and putting smaller companies and some O/O's out of business. They made International rich, and whatever trailer companies they used for dry van and Inter-modal! Yeah, from Lowell Arkansas all over, they had their 'opportunities!' Company, O/O's and any driver they could use! Other larger companies did the same thing. No, I don't have the: 'Good for you!' attitude, it's fact! Whoever holds the bag makes the money, and it's not J.B. The economy's been changing long before Biden, whether or not anyone wants to admit the truth! This 'It's business is' b.s! It's corporate greed, plain and simple!

the lesson of the matter is that if you are n an account where the store will loose business or in danger of bankrupt then you are in danger of loosing your job and this includes none jbhunt drivers.
Even the Ross account in Texas are getting let go after June 7 th
J B Hunt has been working on this for over one year. Nothing new.
JB Hunt is strategically letting drivers go! I was an intermodal driver for them, and I was let go recently because they said I stole 30 minutes of company time. Which was my break! Even though I was planning on leaving anyway because work slowed down to a snail pace where I went from making about 300+ a day to barely touching 200 and being sent home early because of no freight!
They must have just messed up really bad. And they didn't want anything to do with the contract happens all the time
I came from San Bernardino, Rialto , Fontana yard and South Gate I’m still tied in with them .. 99 cent store thing is true lot of issues over there .

JB Hunt had 2 yard for Amazon JB hunt. One being out of South Gate, still up and running & Fontana yard. My yard got a couple of those 99 cent stores drivers, we running the ports (non Amazon).
They just told drivers that work for Amazon in the port of Va that they shutting down the account in June

i use to work for the fontana port fleet. they were extra strict on driving but not with other accounts which makes sense now they did layoffs. we use to go to trapac for culu cans alot but stop because culu apparently were now going to ship by air
J.b. hunt is huge & i believe their frieght market is doing pretty good, it would be shocking for them to have to let that many drivers go. Those drivers must be ne from accounts that they may have lost. My brother drives for j.b. hunt on a dedicated account out of texas. We need more info on this one alex & my fellow truckers

Amazon been talking for years about cutting costs & stuff, i believe they just got too big too quickly. Crazy story: i almost got hired by j.b. hunt for the 99 cent only stores account out of houston, tx.
The 99 cent stores closed down what do you expect for JB Hunt to do. They will offer some jobs in different divisions the rest will get laid off

I'm on the Amazon account out of Southgate sister yard to Fontana yes it's true Amazon is being too picky saying JB Hunt is charging too much and wants JB to down size to only 40 drivers from 140 I just heard today from another driver that July might be our last month... most of these rumors came from trainers that we're told straight from our account manager....

I work for JB hunt intermodal in San Bernardino, formerly at their Fontana yard as well and I can tell you it’s dry as the Sahara up there. What did they expect to happen when the bought bnsf railroad? They did that so they can ship freight on the railroad instead of with trucks and eliminate fuel costs as well as labor costs for drivers, it was only a matter of time before they started letting the drivers go.
I am stuck in Augusta. Paid a driver 1/2 up front to drive me and my motorhome to Nevada. He left? Is that why truck driver's are losing their jobs? I am 72, stuck in Georgia. Not a nice impression to leave.

It's because of stress, not accidents. Cardiovascular issues and heart attacks, caused by the following : Brakes slamming on by themselves. Slaving away from family for less than minimum wage. Poor quality sleep because of the noisy reefer unit. Worry about what your lover is doing while you're on the road. Friction with power-hungry dispatchers. Worry about scarce parking. The fucking politicians frequently tightening the regulatory screws without rhyme or reason. Unreliable vehicles. Qualcomms that snitch on you to the safety department for a variety of petty transgressions. I can go on, but I'll stop here. No,driver, you won't be fine. Get ready to drive through HELL.

Aside from the 99 closing do you think it’s the only reason ? I know they have to renew the inspection on all their trucks to pass new emissions laws n multiply say 350 to inspect ! Now x 500 =175k small number but with that account n the other closing do you invest or do you take advantage and fire n then take government funding to go green or electric!!! I seen Performance Team have a hard over by the 710 going South bound n you can see they charge their trucks !!! Wow

I know a driver that was just laid off by them last week. He was on the Amazon account. Pulling containers out of the savannah, Georgia ports he said a month ago they laid off 10 drivers and last week they laid off another 14 drivers including him off of that account.

No, that is a lie.Nobody's been let go.They may not be able to transfer because they do not want to continue working.If a department like that closes, they'll give them the option of going to different departments.Or maybe going over the road
Yeah they will offer them that in writing even if they don't necessarily have the position so if they refuse they can't get unemployment unfortunately this is Chess not checkers that's one of those crafty moves big companies pull. In most states if you refuse a position that would pay you more than unemployment then they will refuse your unemployment

Swift Walmart division where I live just stopped doing business with Flying J and Pilot. We were told that they had been stealing from Swift the same way Dollar General has been stealing from its customers.

So they lost some contracts, and the local drivers didn’t want to stay with the company
I left JB Hunt behind in 1988 after 6 weeks. Low pay unaffordable benefits, theatrics, disproportionate number of drivers looking for a ‘Grindr hookup’, etc. JB speaking to us at orientation, telling us we would have to “hire a personal wealth manager”, 7 speed Navistar cab overs that couldn’t get out of their own way, and on and on…..
Nobody actually got fired from that. I’m on a different account and we have like 10 of their drivers, but there were some they got fired, but they were up for termination anyways the rest of the drivers even if mediocre got redistributed to all the other accounts and the Amazon account is slowing down because we’re not importing as many things from that one country.
We need truckdrivers up here in Alaska you will need to be able drive a manual transmission and chain if needed but the money great

Drivers probably can just drive directly for amazon they've been putting more and more trucks on the road I'm sure this was discussed during contract negotiations.

info I received, were some were able to transfer, but the 100 plus port drivers for fontana department is getting let go with an opportunity for rehire in the future
My cousin was a driver for 99 then Jb hunt. He said some drivers were layoff and some got contract with stater brothers. And that jb hunt stole alot money from 99 .
I use to work intermodal with jb hunt. I highly doubt they go out of business. They are one of the only big companies that do local heavy in damn near every city

Biden and Trump, it's politicians taking corporate money from the mega fleets trying to put O/O out of business. Why do you think they made up the big lie that there's a truck driver shortage? 1. To get the government to flood the market with new drivers for them to pay less money and bring down the rate on freight. 2. To pass new mandatory regulations on how fast trucks can go and safety regulations requiring mandatory all trucks to maintain, like forward radar.
Ijust quit JB Hunt Dedicated a couple of tomonths ago to make better money some place else. They are struggling to keep their Dedicated fleet going on the west coast.
They also just lost the Tesla account. Tesla and 99cent wa their biggest accounts othe then Costco and Intermodal. Thats the nature of dedicated. Here today and gone tomorrow. Its always been that way. Somebody comes along and low ball bids the contract and you're out.
We have had recessions before. We even had a gas shortage back in '73. It is not all gloom and doom. We have an overcapacity problem in trucking. Too many trucks, and not enough freight. Simply supply and demand. And all the megacarriers are feeling the pinch as well. JB Hunt is just the latest one.

Ive been preaching about all these new drivers that want least purchase or buy truck and vecomw owner operator. So many trucking companys laying off or shutting down. Yes im owner operator 29 years and this is worst ive seen trucking in 40 years ...when economy an inflation low rated and fuel prices high trucking goes down hill quick !!! This not good time start trucking guys. Dont give theae trucking companys money for least purchase unless you want get screws !!!!

JB Hunt has recently lost several contracts with customers but they have offered us all jobs in other areas.
In the last year, JB Hunt bought 4 ports in the United States AND became the MAJOR SHAREHOLDER AT BNSF RAILWAY. Trust me when i tell you, they're not going anywhere.
Those are dedicated contracts, singled accounts with dedicated allotment of drivers. Jb hunt ended the contract with Sr. drivers going to other accounts. Rest would be played off, couldn’t see them firing them. Big as they are drivers are just numbers to them at corporate office at jb hunt
