    Watching your videos gives me motivation to work on my on car and right now it’s misfiring I took it to the shop they said low compression in cylinder 2&4 I changed the valve covers cleaned the plugs cause oil was on them and it sounds better and isn’t idling as rough as before but still misfiring feels like one cylinder this time though not sure I ordered a obd 2 scanner hoping it tells me what’s wrong don’t want to lose the G mechanics said I need a new engine because the low compression but couldn’t tell me why it had low compression

      It could be work piston rings or scratches on the cylinder walls. I would start by pulling the coil packs and spark plugs

      Update
      after changing my value cover the compression issue was fixed!! I brought a compression test kit to check and now it’s reading 180 In all 6 cylinders I’m so happy but it’s still misfiring “ not as badly” but after checking my plugs again I noticed fuel on one of my spark plugs plus using my obd 2 scanner on live data mode it showed that one of my injectors was putting out much more fuel than the others sooo I’m changing that injector today hoping that fixes it

      @@ERICSDIYGARAGEFIXED noticed a bunch of comments saying it’s easy to mix up the wires for coil pack 4&6 and sure enough after i decided to just swap them from what I thought was right it fixed the misfire never having someone else work on my car again Lmao this whole problem because he mixed up the connections

      Yes, I have a few videos that I need to edit and more vehicles to come! I'm familiar with nissan, but I want to explore other types. I just need to find the right opportunity

    What’s good Eric, nice vid as always. I been trying to diagnose an electrical problem on my 06 g 5at where I basically got codes p1757 p1752 and p1772 but the car was driving like a dream. This was on the first drive after installing a knock sensor + knock harness, new cam sensors, valve covers, and added a plenum spacer and did a throttle body cleaning. now my tranny thunks and loses power 😢 just got a new tranny like 5000 miles ago

      It just might be a coincidence. I would start with p1757 and drop the valve body to look for broken traces.

    Hey Eric, I have a 2006 maxima 6sp manual. It has the code P2a03. I’ve changed the oxygen sensor and cleaned the mass airflow sensor and no luck, any ideas on what this could be?

    • @ERICSDIYGARAGE
      @ERICSDIYGARAGE  Год назад +1

      If you recently changed it and didn't rest the o2 sensor parameters with a scan tool, the vehicle will still throw the codes. Take it to a mechanic shop and ask them to reset the o2 sensors it's done with a scan tool

    • @Preach22
      @Preach22 Год назад

      @@ERICSDIYGARAGE So I'd need a better scan tool to reset the 02 sensors correct? I have an Ancel OBD.

    • @ERICSDIYGARAGE
      @ERICSDIYGARAGE  Год назад +2

      @FWDVQ yes you need a scanner that can go into special functions, usually 300 dollars and up

    Do you think most 350z get messed up people tinkering with them trying to boost hp etc.
