First 5000 miles on my Subaru I used Costco premium and averaged 21.4 mpg. I’m 2500 miles into using exclusively Shell premium and I’m averaging 24 mpg. It’s the same mix of in town and highway driving.

I've never waited 20-30 minutes to get gas at costco. Go on your day off while most people are at work.

I typically just pick the station where I have the best fuel rewards, but my truck is a guzzling diesel and I don't drive it enough to worry. My commute is almost 100 miles round trip and today I make that commute on electric and charge by sun mostly. But when I was driving that trip with a gasoline car, I tried everything to get an accurate MPG and compare various gas stations. Over the course of 10 years, I gave up. Weather, traffic and my mood among many other things made it nearly impossible to get constant results for me. I like your videos, I stumbled onto your iPod video as I just added Bluetooth to mine.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to share your experience! As objective as this subject should be, I feel it really is more subjective for most people because of different factors like you mentioned. I’m glad you found what worked for you!
How reliable is the bluetooth mod? Any connection or sound quality issues?

@@iamalexsun I am using the KCX_BT_EMITTER v1.7 that was included in a pre-built back cover sold by Parts Plus Pods. The Bluetooth range is really good and the sound is good, but I am not an audiophile. I currently have it dismantled again on the workbench as I'm not happy with the power / pairing button configuration. Basically the hold switch is wired to turn the Bluetooth module on and off. And when you press on the hold switch, it taps a tactile switch mounted underneath it to turn on pairing. This all works very well, except you lose the original function of the hold switch. I use Rockbox and in some situations, you need the hold switch to exit certain apps such as the GB emulator. So I'm reworking the unit to make the hold work as normal, but adding a switch to turn the Bluetooth on and off. For some people loosing the hold switch isn't a big deal. :D

I use them both . For the price at Costco it’s hard to beat & it’s a top tier fuel as well. I use shell mostly

I own a 2018 Subaru Forestor 2.5i premium model. I’ve noticed that shell gets more gas mileage vs Costco as well. Seems like it gets better gas mileage than chevron as well.

I've used shell 94 octane in my acura mdx and the costco 91. Using both gas i got the same mileage on the hiway.
I usually only drive 10km/hr over the speed limit and when driving 120km/hr, i was using about 13.5L/100km.
Only when i drove the speed limit (110km/hr) my vehicle got 10.5 to 11L/100km. My vehicle is rated from acura for 11L per 100km on the hiway and has 250,000km on it.

Here In Canada I use 91 for my Q50 and the fuel mileage is way better it’s probably an extra day worth of commuting to work. Costco you’re saving 20 a fill up so for me it’s worth it for me
