  • I made a much longer video with me talking in it, and then I realized the differences were so subtle that a simple screenshot worked a lot better. These are not pictures, these are two frames from a longer video.
I set up a shot in very difficult (but common for outdoor events like weddings) lighting conditions, with bright sun hitting some areas (including lens flare from the top frame) and shadow in others. Then I stood in the shadow, which is usually the part of the image that breaks apart the most.
And, yes, this is an aggressive Fuji look, but in harsh lighting it's what I prefer because otherwise the image is very dull.
I didn't have a grey card or assistant, so I just did 0.7EV and made sure I wasn't clipping the brightest areas.
Same lens, same PolarPro PMVND, S-Log3. Native ISO on both, which is 500 on RIV and 680 on SIII. 100mbps files on both cameras. a7R IV is 8bit 24fps. The SIII is 100mbps but h.265 allowing for 10bit 4:2:2 with the same data rate.
I use Leeming Lut Athena first, then do exposure +1.5, highlights -100, shadows +20, blacks -10. Creative Fuji Eterna 250D Fuji 3510.

Yes, I did that as well, I also did HLG3 and CINE4. The difference is very, very subtle, about the same as in this test. The best way to tell the difference (future video) is to shoot something with the wrong WB and then the difference between 8bit and 10bit becomes apparent.
