  • We spent one week on this tropical island in the Pacific which few people realise is a US overseas territory. In this video, we show you some highlights we explored on the island - including snorkelling and hiking to hidden beauty spots.

Hey guys, I have a week to spend on either Guam or Saipan (can't do both), which one do you recommend?
I'm in my thirties and like nature, a bit of beach, hiking.
    Thank you!

Hey! Thanks for your message. Hmm that's a hard choice!
Saipan is much smaller so if you only have a week, you might feel you'd get to explore it more thoroughly. We have a soft spot for Saipan as we spent a month there, so got to see alot, lots of great spots for snorkeling and swimming, did a couple of hikes, the longest one on the island is probably Forbidden Island, that only took around 45 minutes each way. It's also less built up than Guam, feels a bit like stepping back in time 30 years or so.
Guam is alot bigger and we felt a week wasn't long enough to explore thoroughly, there are more options for hiking, snorkeling etc there. Guam feels more like a mini version of the US, but maybe 20 years ago, big wide roads, the main city full of high rise hotels.
It really depends what type of person you are and what you like out of a holiday, sounds like you're an active, outdoors type person who's more interested in nature than infrastructure, so you'd probably like Saipan. But both islands are beautiful and definitely a slower pace of life than Westerners are used to. Whatever choice you make, for sure you're gonna have a great trip! All the best! And thanks for watching! 😁

I lived few years on Guam it’s a beautiful island but my experience with the people wasn’t great . I noticed they are extremely jealous people and if you are successful they love to ruin it for you while smiling at your face

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. Surely not all the people are the same though.
