Seriously. Look at the deals for the Dormy House at Alnmouth Golf course (Foxton). Play Alnmouth, Bamburgh, Dunstonburgh and Sea Houses. I presume the other course you played was Warkworth.
I was a member there for 15 years fantastic course rarely closed and like playing on your household mats. The island is the Coquet Island, great to view puffins birds. As you said the best time to play is in the summer when the grass is burned off it’s fantastic. When it’s windy it’s a great test of golf. Thanks for coming to our neck of the woods.
Golfmates videos are a FIXTURE of my week for many years now. It's a sad week when you have to drop the quantity for reasons we all understand....but these videos make me happy.
Liam the truth about the little house on the prairie on the M62 ….. A geological fault beneath the farmhouse meant it was more practical for engineers to leave it rather than blast through and destroy it.” And he added: “Outside the noise is relentless but inside it's as peaceful and cosy as any farmhouse.” from Rugby Golf Club a little gem in the Midlands.
The Island you can drive across to when the tide is out is up the coast 30 miles or so, from Alnmouth, its called Holy Island Liam.. beautiful place, theres another great Golf course up the coast 10 miles from Alnmouth, Dunstanburgh castle Golf course spectacular it is.... love your videos Pal.....
The time and effort you put in for us golf mates to enjoy these courses is really appreciated Liam. The love and energy put into each video is invectious and always puts a smile on my face. Thank you!
G'day Liam, long-time viewer, first-time commenter. Firstly, thank you for your content, it caught my eye one day noticing the comradery between Mr Barlow and yourself. I love the banter that seems to be full of good advice. I cannot play due to physical shortcomings and your videos make me feel like I am there, you are talking to the masses but it truly feels you are talking to me. Regarding the debate Starbucks V Cosco I've not tried either, we have a chain here called MuzzBuzz and I have never bothered with it. Home is where the heart is and the cheap but cheerfull coffee. Keep it up M8 I love your work. Steve from West OZ.
Steve thank you for commenting pal Hope one day you get back playing People say why do I go out on my own my reply is I am not I am with my golfmates x. Cheers pal
great to see you at the Village Liam....the Greenkeeper John said he will forgive you for not getting his name right....lol its the oldest 9 hole club in England and the 4th oldest club in England So proud to have been the Captain at this club from Easter 2023 till current....
Fantastic video, Liam! Thank you for exposing our club, Alnmouth Village! One of the few courses that’s been open all winter as it’s so dry like you said. I hoped you enjoyed the beautiful views and hospitality!
Thanks Liam and Pres. My Tuesday Golf Mates fix is a big part of my week. Thanks also for showcasing the little but beautiful courses dotted around the UK. As I said last week, the bucket list just gets bigger.
So great that your picking up these hidden gems and sharing the love. We would all love to play the top courses but these are proper grass root courses that have styled the test of time. Keep up with the great work you do for the average golfer who loves the game and the Craic with his mates and fellow golfers. Even all these years onwards it’s still refreshing to view your RUclips videos all best mate keep going.
Liam - great video. You are doing a real service showing that 9-holers are great options everywhere. Thank you. Also, looked like your right foot slipped on that 8th tee; probably trying to give it a little extra into that wind. Swing easy when it's breezy.
Love it mate, I'll definitely have to play there next time I'm over looks a cracking little course, and cheers for the shoutout pal. Keep these little nuggets coming I really enjoy them.
Hi Liam Watch your videos 2-3 times a week. Great entertainment. Love seeing different golf courses across the UK and abroad. Keep it going. Thank you.....Geoff, Eastbourne
Loving the content Liam! Best golf blogger by a mile - particularly love the fact that you play and introduce new golf courses to us that ordinary people can pay to play. I have a few on my to do list thanks to you 👍
@@GolfMates nice one! I'd love to see you all play my local course, Bondhay golf club near Worksop. It's Danny Willet's original course and a real test of golf.
2.18 minutes in. Already loving this. Golf Mates is the channel which always produces great content. Places you've never seen and comments you're never expected.
Really enjoyed the video, old school golf vlogs UK style. Its a tough winter and I am so grateful for your graft, spring is round the corner my golfmate. Courses will be in great nick this year.
Liam, you are seriously the best and my favourite golf content creator on RUclips. It's real. I love the fact you play golf course's that every person can access. They are ripper looking course's also. I'm assembling a list of British course's you have featured and I'm planning a trip from Australia to play as many as I can. Can't wait. Nothing wrong with a 9 hole course either. Sometimes it's all you need.
Great video 📹 something special about these little hidden gems, the views and calmness are incredible..... Thank you for taking us on these adventures. Starbucks because we don't have the other across the pond. Keep bring us golf mates these awesome videos!
Well done Liam for coming across the pennines, I've played this course loads of times with the Railway golf society and friends, it's always in good nick and always a good day out, well worth a visit, cracking course and cracking club house.
I love your “Golf Mates channel, and “The Average Golfer” channel for the same reason - you show the heart and spirit of the great game. Greetings and thanks from San Francisco.
First time viewer here, only just got back to golf after a ten year hiatus, loving it again, enjoyed the video, as you said would look stunning in the summer, think in the past I have also been a bit of a snob when it comes to 9 holes, been going for 150 years and they still haven’t built a back 9, what’s that all about? Starbucks or Costa, I swing both ways matey, Coffee that is…. just subscribed. If you’re ever near Mold give me a shout and and I will show you our course.
Great video again Liam. Had a wonder around the course and village a few years ago, beautiful place. If you get a chance to play Alnmouth GC next door its a fantastic track too. Keep up the good work GolfMates. Oh definitely Costa
What a course unreal!! I always use your tactic if I am visiting places I haven't been, google earth the place and zoom around to see if any courses it's a great tactic! I love seeing these courses that don't usually get the big marketing, but are just as good as some of the big courses. Great video again Liam great to see that positive attitude back!!
Amazing course and another great episode. Love how hard you and the team work to bring us great content when we have had nothing but rain. Put me down for a Costa.
Another great video fella. Love watching people out enjoying golf. Only started playing golf 9 months ago (aged 40) and instantly fell in love Going through a really tough time at the moment and these videos are letting me escape for 30-60 mins 👍
Enjoyment, that's what the videos bring Liam, you played some great golf, but like you said, the wheels have fallen off, does it really matter, love watching them,so keep em coming plz.👏👏👍
We stayed in Alnmouth just after the first lockdown and fell in love with the place, I’ve been visiting and playing the 9 hole course every year every since it’s absolutely brilliant. I suspect you will be playing Warkworth next, keep playing the 9 hole course it makes fantastic viewing
I am yet to play Alnmouth, its good to see the video to give me a good idea of the course. I played Dunstanburgh Castle last week and its just up the raod from Alnmouth. You need to play there Liam, its a fantastic course👍🏿

Great video as always Liam, I live in Manchester but have family up near Alnmouth and loved seeing the area ... hoping the next course is Newbiggin-By-The Sea, as always wanted to play on there from spending many summer holidays up there as a kid.
This course appears to be a very good layout, and to be fair you have played some of your best golf particularly your lab up puts. Excellent play Liam Great to see you enjoying the course well done.
Well done Liam another great find. I like the way you describe what you are thinking about the shot. Oh and Presley done well to catch the murmuration behind you when you were on the 3rd green 🎦 👍
Really enjoyed these last couple vids Liam. Quiet tucked away 9 hole courses are superb for a quick swing of the old bats. Done a few myself on west coast of Scotland whilst over working. Keep these coming👍
This is the same way I like to find courses. My first trip to Ireland in 2015 I found a little gem this way, Ardglass GC. Although I don't think it is so hidden anymore. I will be coming to Scotland and Ireland at the end of April for some golf and will be playing one of the courses you played this summer in Ireland, with a mate from NI, Seapoint GC. Also adding Laytown Bettystown GC and a small 9 hole course Rush GC. I will also play 3 times in Scotland, my first time visiting Scotland. I enjoy you videos, keep playing!!
Really looking forward to coming back over. Just about to book a few days in Scotland with golf mates travel. Thanks for keeping it real whilst we are under water here in NL
Really glad you did the full nine, it was much more interesting. You had some bad luck at the end but on a new course and having to set up shots and carry the camera, I think you can be happy with your round.
