I had a cube from about 2012 till 2015. I absolutely loved it. I put over 100k miles on it. I live in Texas and I took it on several trips to Florida, Colorado and New Mexico. I’m a musician, and on that trip to Colorado I took a drummer with me, so I completely removed the rear seats and turned it into like a micro van. One day someone slammed into me on the highway and totaled the car. I ended up getting a Honda Fit because I thought it would be more practical. And it kinda was, but man something about the aesthetics of the cube always catches my eye. I really miss it. If they ever bring it back I’ll jump on it day 1.
I am still driving my 2009 Cube SL and love it. Same color as the one in this video. It is hands down the best vehicle I have ever owned. Low maintenance and super comfortable to drive. So sad Nissan discontinued making them.
@@KellyRay-k8x They have great acceleration and merging on to busy Highway 101 is never a problem. I have made made trips from the SF area to Portland and find the car basically drives itself down interstate 5. I love my Cube!

@@calgary2800 I'm of changing it to the Nissan just because I do travel quite a bit and I've heard bad reviews about the travel capacity with them we'll see if I could swap out my offer to a different vehicle because I seen your views where they don't drive very well in the wind when it's windy out on the highways
@@KellyRay-k8x The Cube is a very practical and perfect car for the city since its small and boxy and easy to park. It can store a whole lot. Its not the best long distance freeway car since it lacks power and that year CVT was not good at all. Nissan has made a lot of improvements to its CVT, I know I have a 2016 Altima. Let me know what car you end up buying.
I don't see ugly. What I see is practical. Small on the outside, big on the inside and you don't have to contort yourself like a circus acrobat to get in and out of. The bonus of not being the prettiest is that means its lower on the list of cars that a thief would go after.
That happened to my 2010 last year, I used my extended warranty to repair the motor for the window and didn't have to pay a lot out of pocket. Maybe check it out.
fun fact, even though the exterior was designed to be a box, the interior was designed to be completely round... everything inside the car has a rounded edge....best car on the road, i have a 2011 6 speed manual
We do have ours for 5 years now, my wife drives it and I drive once in a while. And we do love it, we never had a major problem except the sun visor passenger side. I had it replaced but after a year it broke down again. I had it removed. But all and all we are happy with it.👍
I've owned two, a 2009 and my currant 2010. Best car ever. Lots of leg and head room. I removed the back seats and built a flat floor. Perfect for hauling big dogs and garden supplies. Inside is huge, like an SUV. You can actually fit 8 foot lumber inside when you fold down the passenger seat. Overall quality is much better than a Scion XB or Kia Soul. I don't find the ride uncomfortable at all. I couldn't care less if people think they're ugly.
I absolutely love the cube. I have a 2013 smart footwork that I daily drive (120k on it) . Once my smart stops running I want a cube but it is very hard to find low mile models.
Just recently purchased a 2011 Nissan cube and honestly it’s probably been my favorite car. I’ve owned not only is it versatile but it’s very comfortable. The view is fantastic. The drivability is nice. They made the Nissan cube in Japan until 2019 l believe, not 2014. Also the rear seat can slide forward or back to increase boot space/ or increase rear passenger leg room, depending on requirements. Thank you for your review of the Z12, one of which l have the pleasure of owning here in New Zealand.

To have a key instead of key less system you got a 1500 credit by having a psyiscal key.
That is an SL, at least in the US. My wife has one, 2009 bought in 2011. Now has 122,000 miles. Has needed an exhaust, steering lock (twice), rear door latch, brake light bulb, subframe bushings along with the usual wear stuff like brakes, oil changes, tires.... My daughter has a 2006 xB with 130,000 miles. The xB has been way more reliable but the cube is quieter. They are both extremely practical cars that can seat my 6'3 son in the back with plenty of head room. Carries so much stuff if needed. The rear seat moves forward for more space. The driver's cup holder is awesome. 30mph combined if I drive it, 27 if my wife drives it. Very easy for the elderly to get in and out of the front passenger seat. My wife will not get rid of the car, she loves it.
2009 Nissan Cube. Even though I shipped it to my family in California from Hawai’i, it was an amazing Island Vehicle. It’s literally the definition of Looks can be Deceiving. Still one of my favorite cars tbh. But now I have a 2019 Mini Countryman. Haha
I am going to look at a cube krom on Saturday. I was a little on the fence about it ... but your presentation and the positive comments made me feel like I am gonna go for it. I just turned 70 and I think i need this funky quirky car in my life .
My mother has a Nissan cube 2012 with 230,000 mi on it all the engine compartment and transmission is still original. The only thing we change on it was a spark plugs tires brakes and we did have a transmission issue back 10,000 mi ago but it turns out all it was was the brake switch but all they're not. It's a pretty good car for practicality and mi per gallon because my mom only feels it every 2 weeks. But there is some downfalls such as the build quality, not so well made. Every time you hit bumps you hear cracks and also when you do go on the highway. It's such a wobble bit because of the weird aerodynamics of a box going 75 miles per hour. But overall it's not bad. We had it for a very long time and we did a lot of trips with it. I personally don't want one but I've been driving in a while and it's not bad and in oil doesn't burn and we're good
No CVT problems here. I hunted around for months until I found a 6-speed. FYI: the Cubes gears are closely spaced. Only 500 rpm between gears. Unless going uphill, I skip a gear. Usually a 2 to 4 after sliding through a stop sign (LOL)
