I had a cube from about 2012 till 2015. I absolutely loved it. I put over 100k miles on it. I live in Texas and I took it on several trips to Florida, Colorado and New Mexico. I’m a musician, and on that trip to Colorado I took a drummer with me, so I completely removed the rear seats and turned it into like a micro van.
One day someone slammed into me on the highway and totaled the car. I ended up getting a Honda Fit because I thought it would be more practical. And it kinda was, but man something about the aesthetics of the cube always catches my eye. I really miss it. If they ever bring it back I’ll jump on it day 1.
damnnn thats a shame that someone smashed your cube
That is so sad . So sorry you had that happen to you and your car.
man, i bought one 7 months ago and i really love it!
I am still driving my 2009 Cube SL and love it. Same color as the one in this video. It is hands down the best vehicle I have ever owned. Low maintenance and super comfortable to drive. So sad Nissan discontinued making them.
thanks so much watching another happy cube owner!
09 Cube owner, has 114k on it. Still the same CVT. Only thing I replaced was serpentine belt and one motor mount. Everything else was just the basic stuff. Its super practical in tight crowded areas because of how easy it is to park and make u turns. I hope to get 200k out of it.
gladdd you are happy with your cube ! thanks for watching
I kinda like the way it looks, it’s definitely something different 😂
pretty funky
I’ve had mines for about four years I’m very grateful for it and it fits me so well ❤
thanks for watching glad you enjoy your cube!
I’ve had one for six years and I’m officially getting sick of it. The driver side window and the mirror stopped working
damnnnn dont get rid of your beautiful cube
That happened to my 2010 last year, I used my extended warranty to repair the motor for the window and didn't have to pay a lot out of pocket. Maybe check it out.
Just recently purchased a 2011 Nissan cube and honestly it’s probably been my favorite car. I’ve owned not only is it versatile but it’s very comfortable. The view is fantastic. The drivability is nice. I just really hope the CVT transmission will last the main issue I had was my steering wheel controls quit working for the stereo And the mood lights awesome video and very informative. I watched this before purchasing.
thanks so much for watching glad you liked it!
09 cube 118k. Never gave me one second of trouble. Engine and CVT perfect still. It is insanely practical for tight city driving. And so easy to get in and out of. I wish I could buy another new one. I changed CVT fluid every 35k or so.
We do have ours for 5 years now, my wife drives it and I drive once in a while. And we do love it, we never had a major problem except the sun visor passenger side. I had it replaced but after a year it broke down again. I had it removed. But all and all we are happy with it.👍
thats awesome glad you are enjoying your cube!
They made the Nissan cube in Japan until 2019 l believe, not 2014.
Also the rear seat can slide forward or back to increase boot space/ or increase rear passenger leg room, depending on requirements.
Thank you for your review of the Z12, one of which l have the pleasure of owning here in New Zealand.
Thanks for watching yes in North America it was discontinued in 2014
Thank you for your reply.
Yes indeed they stopped selling cubes in 2014 in America.
Here in New Zealand they are still importing second hand ones ex Japan.
So interestingly we are getting more and more on our roads in 2022-23!
Thank you again for your reviews, kind regards, Geoff.
I've owned two, a 2009 and my currant 2010. Best car ever. Lots of leg and head room. I removed the back seats and built a flat floor. Perfect for hauling big dogs and garden supplies. Inside is huge, like an SUV. You can actually fit 8 foot lumber inside when you fold down the passenger seat. Overall quality is much better than a Scion XB or Kia Soul. I don't find the ride uncomfortable at all. I couldn't care less if people think they're ugly.
without the seats would be pretty cool!
No CVT problems here. I hunted around for months until I found a 6-speed. FYI: the Cubes gears are closely spaced. Only 500 rpm between gears. Unless going uphill, I skip a gear. Usually a 2 to 4 after sliding through a stop sign (LOL)
That is an SL, at least in the US. My wife has one, 2009 bought in 2011. Now has 122,000 miles. Has needed an exhaust, steering lock (twice), rear door latch, brake light bulb, subframe bushings along with the usual wear stuff like brakes, oil changes, tires.... My daughter has a 2006 xB with 130,000 miles. The xB has been way more reliable but the cube is quieter. They are both extremely practical cars that can seat my 6'3 son in the back with plenty of head room. Carries so much stuff if needed. The rear seat moves forward for more space. The driver's cup holder is awesome. 30mph combined if I drive it, 27 if my wife drives it. Very easy for the elderly to get in and out of the front passenger seat. My wife will not get rid of the car, she loves it.
I don't see ugly. What I see is practical. Small on the outside, big on the inside and you don't have to contort yourself like a circus acrobat to get in and out of. The bonus of not being the prettiest is that means its lower on the list of cars that a thief would go after.
hey thats one way to look at it thanks for watching
I still have my 2012. And God has been good to me with it! I don’t know what else I would ever drive, truly. I love it so much, and there’s nothing I like and trust more. I pray she holds on for many more years. Happy Cubical Girl!
thanks for watching you are exactly what the type of driver I was referring in this video
fun fact, even though the exterior was designed to be a box, the interior was designed to be completely round... everything inside the car has a rounded edge....best car on the road, i have a 2011 6 speed manual
2009 Nissan Cube.
Even though I shipped it to my family in California from Hawai’i, it was an amazing Island Vehicle. It’s literally the definition of Looks can be Deceiving. The inside were cavernous and spacious. Preppy engine, never had issues with the engine or transmission. But did have issue with the fuel pump, but replaced it and now it’s fine. Still one of my favorite cars tbh. But now I have a 2019 Mini Countryman. Haha
thank for watching glad you enjoyed your cube this is great insight!
Still own my 2011 Cube. It’s had a couple of issues but thankfully no CVT problems. 160k miles. Was the cheapest car I could find that I could fit comfortably in (6’5, 350+). Wouldn’t call it ugly but I would call it utilitarian. My friends call it a refrigerator.
lol thanks for watching
I have a 2010, I purchased it in 2013 and I love it. Now I have about 84,200 miles on it. I love my car❤
thats awesome thanks for watching
I owned one for a while, it was a vehicle with an early CVT, mine went through 2 and then still had problems, eventually ended up scrapping it.
thanks for watching sorry to hear about your issues
My mother has a Nissan cube 2012 with 230,000 mi on it all the engine compartment and transmission is still original. The only thing we change on it was a spark plugs tires brakes and we did have a transmission issue back 10,000 mi ago but it turns out all it was was the brake switch but all they're not. It's a pretty good car for practicality and mi per gallon because my mom only feels it every 2 weeks. But there is some downfalls such as the build quality, not so well made. Every time you hit bumps you hear cracks and also when you do go on the highway. It's such a wobble bit because of the weird aerodynamics of a box going 75 miles per hour. But overall it's not bad. We had it for a very long time and we did a lot of trips with it. I personally don't want one but I've been driving in a while and it's not bad and in oil doesn't burn and we're good
thats awesome glad she has been enjoying her cube thanks for watching
first time i saw it i loved it- has to be the silliest car ive seen so far lol
thanks for watching
How does the transmission hood up? Jatco? Engine issues? Rust? Everything else is minor
this car is still in great shape and drives very well
No way! I’m sitting here listening to this video, and I was shocked when you said saint Catherine’s! I’m in welland😁
hey a local! thanks for watching I work at st catharines nissan!
@@carsunlocked That is so cool!!!! I love Nissans so I’ll make sure you’re the one I’m buying it from😁
You have to remove the headrests on the back seats then the seats will lie down flat
yes of course
I am going to look at a cube krom on Saturday. I was a little on the fence about it ... but your presentation and the positive comments made me feel like I am gonna go for it. I just turned 70 and I think i need this funky quirky car in my life .
thats great let me know how it goes?
Definitely worth it! My mom has one and I bashed the hell out of it in my teenage years. Still getting it to this day!
I BOUGHT IT !AND I AMSO IN LOVE WITH MY LITTLE CUBERT! HE IS ALSO A KROM WHICH MAKEZ IT EXTRA SPECIAL 1💖💖💖💖
I saw it for the first time when I came to Canada. Very weird, but very practical!
Not the ugliest ever, that would be Fiat Multipla I guess
thats a common one or a chev spark
2:31 Doesn’t it have anything to do with the rear door?
the rear passenger door
@@carsunlockedI meant the rear cargo door. It’s so that door can swing open perhaps.
Suprised the japanese sqare cars all got axed, aside from the soul which sells exceptionally
either love them or hate them
Just a quick heads up, the Soul is not a Japanese car. Kia is a South Korean brand:)
What model is this????
its the nissan cub krom package
Cute and Quirky kinda like the Juke.
should we do the juke next???
@@carsunlocked yes! such a fun awd & more interesting than the rouge sport (qashqai).
The juke is hideous
What was the price when new ?
16000 can you believe
Look it up 2014 Nissan Cube interior and you’ll find a piece of rug
ohhh i c now interesting
wonder how many times this car has been pointed and laughed at in its history.
at least 5
@@carsunlocked billion
When I saw this for the first time, I hated it. 😍
Lol my co worker had a blk one
@@DawayneBuffin-ho5mn 😀
thanks for watching
@@carsunlocked 😃
Kind of boring car.😂I still see a lot of these on the road, so that’s a good sign they still hold up.
you either love them or hate them
@@carsunlocked Oh yeah, that’s for sure!💯
My mom has one and it was my teenage basher. Still on the road till this day‼️
@@BlakeEdwardssYeah, they seem to run forever.
Nee Sohn? It's Niss Ann.
come on dude
Why have Americans switched vowels? Nissan is pronounced 'Niss-ann' not 'Nee-son'.
im canadian sir
@@carsunlocked Americans and Canadians then, and I'm a Miss. That's Miss pronounced 'Miss' and not 'Mees' ;)
Nice car but consume fuel like a truck...... unless you install gpl it is not worth the ride
thanks for the insight
I get 30 mpg.
Car boring but Presentator Not🤭😉
well thanks so much for the kind words!
Out of all vehicles in this world, this is the only vehicle I just don't understand why would anybody pay a single $ and sit in it. It looks ridiculous. I always burst to laugh when I see it on the road. Looks like a joke.
yea like i said you either love it or hate it
I love it we had 3 of them! Bigger boot space than my golf and the surprise 30mpg plus it's extra roomy and comfy. The shape reminds me of a GameCube so it's a plus.
What year is this cube
2009
I always liked it.
me too
I think cartoon dog x smile dog is fine
a fine good boy
There is one thing I didn’t like about the cube was the piece of rug that they put on the dashboard 😤😡🫣
Piece of.rug???
@@carsunlocked yeah
whats a piece of rug
@@carsunlocked I didn't make the original comment but you can get a small circular rug to place on the dashboard.
Cartoon dog x smile dog
Cartoon dawggggg and Ingrid should get married
Cartoon dog and Ingrid can’t get married they are both boys and cartoon dog doesn’t really like Ingrid
Its 2023 boys can marry boys but the love needs to be present
