Hey mate, Great vid ;) 2003 Z11 Cubic Rider here... I have the same car, It is awesome no problems at all 140 000 miles runs like new. I flush all the fluids, change all filters, changed all spark plugs and spark plug wires. Ceramic brake pads. Go to a great mechanic and have them do a 3 step fuel fuel injection cleaning service. Make sure they use BG products. It gets rid of all carbon build up The car roars now. Also use royal purple engine oil it is better then mobil 1 one oil. It drives like a race car now!!!! Also use Trico Titan wipers they work the best. I also change the serpentine belt every 80 000 miles just to be safe and i use royal purple oil filter great quality!
How to fix cons: High centre of gravity - install coilovers and wide up your wheels. Its gonna be like glued to the road. Slow - change air intake for mushroom and your acceleration going skyrocket. Also if you want your car even faster use only Shell Vpower fuel. You gonna feel the speed. Noise - coilovers can fix that as well. Gearbox - there is button in the knob always have it in sport. its going hold speeds for longer .
I'm in the U.S. where the Cube came with a 1.8L engine & was avail with a CVT. This combo makes the Cube pretty zippy - engine winds out at the peak of its power curve during almost the entire (hard) acceleration period. You won't win a race against a muscle car, but you can easily get out first at a light when pitted against any normal driver. This is useful when you need to change lanes quickly after a light, etc. If a muscle car beats you, you'll be so far out ahead of the rest of the pack that you will be able to let off the gas and drop in behind him and take whatever lane you want. This and we average about 28MPG regardless of if we primarily drive on the highway (where we push the flying brick so fast that the poor aerodynamics kill mileage) or the city. You're right about the CVT reliability issue -- mine failed at about 40K miles and was replaced under warranty. I'm afraid it will likely fail again -- just after the 110k extended warranty Nissan offered on it. I understand a Nissan rebuilt CVT installed is $5-6k, though the dealer service rep promises the rebuilt ones they now provide are far more durable than the original ever was. Unfortunately, these rebuilts only come with a 15k warranty. Doesn't sound to me like Nissan really trusts their rebuilts if that's all they back them. Unfortunately, when the next CVT failure comes, I'll probably pay the price. This is my wife's car & she loves it cuz she can easily get in & out. And new Cubes are no longer sold here. I think Nissan failed to market them properly cuz Cubes with a slightly larger engine than yours combined with a CVT are pretty peppy and thus an absolute blast to drive.
I love my cube except for a few things, CVT is awful should be left in snomobiles and minibikes, 2. DO NOT drive in winter. 3. too light, and 4 the brakes. I like the styling and the fact that it is CAVERNOUS on the inside, i am very big man, my monte carlo or f150 were not as roomy
I love my Nissan Cube. Easy on gas. The only thing I dislike is the stereo, but I’m not pressed to change it now while it’s still working, , but that’s an easy fix, nothing major. I’m 5”10 1/2 tall and my height is no challenge for the cube. I still have alit of room left on the inside. My passengers aren’t cramped in the rear and it’s quite an enjoyable ride. My cube is red so I accessorized with black and red and it’s a unique looker too. She fast and gets plenty of looks.
My z13 is the most reliable thing I've ever driven. I literally only had two repairs in 12 years It was my oil pan ( New York road salt), and my resistor for my fan control.
Thanks. I also love my cube 09. its my second one. It had a 1.8 engine . I have been to North Carolina, Kentucky, VA. 1.4 tons. the wind wips me all over the road but I can handle it. Love the attention and people do take me serious some days

Bought a 2009 6 speed manual transmission. Love it and hate it. Love it enough I can't ever get rid of it. It carries everything I need. It runs great, and has required very little maintenance. But it's so ugly/cute, that I sometimes crave something more normal. I had a Jeep Compass brand new and it was always in the shop, so I went back to the Cube as I have time and time again. The intake pipe and filter were full of what looked like thistle fluff. Should have checked it after importing it. Bought a k&n panel filter and modified the inlet pipe and it ran at 98bhp. Still pretty slow.
I will be buying my first cube in a few days but still undecided on the better equipped more modern z12 or imo the better looking boxier but older z11 , the 1.5 with the cvt gearbox's are supposed to be smoother but from what I can gather are far more fragile and higher maintenance then the 4 speed auto. Still undecided if i should take a gamble with a ctv or buy the less powerful 1.4 4 speed Manuel.
Bob Zed It’s very easy to take the front and rear door cars off and reinstall them. You’ll need a plastic trim removal tool, a screwdriver and finger strength. You can easily replace the stock speakers with aftermarket 6 inch speakers by reusing the stock speaker holders (a dremel/grinder would be required for some simple modifications here). This can be done in all 4 doors. It wasn’t until the Z12 cube variant that there was a rear sub from factory, but to install one in a Z11 is incredibly easy. You can buy a sub wiring kit from any auto car parts store.
You said it sits high but from what I see it sits low, I have a Honda element 2004 with over 273miles I wouldn't say it's trouble free but a Nissan with that small engine maybe the next best thing

I have a 2009 with a CVT and can get to 115mph fairly quickly. YOu need to learn to 'pedal' the CVT so it keeps changing ratios. The automatics are a waste of money.
On my dashboard I see a little image that looks like the engine, it won’t move no matter what I do, of course I thought I needed to put in some oil, but it still there. What do you think?
Fantastic question. It depends on three things. Firstly if your looking at a 5 seater or 7 seater or a wheelchair accessible cube. Secondly if your looking at a CVT or a 4-Speed. And Thirdly it comes down to location. Generally cars are slightly cheaper in the eastern states of Australia. If your looking at a Z11 5 seater, you shouldn’t need to spend more than $6000 - $6500 to find a fairly clean one. CVTs will be cheaper, but I’d snag a 4-speed if you’re able to find one. For your reference, the one in this video initially cost me $4500 but it had a large amount of work done before shooting this video.
So is it worth picking up late 2007 shape. 1.5 cubic. I've heard that to figure out if it's a CVT or full auto is if there's any shift buttons on the steering wheel??
what country are you in, I have to ask? i thought i heard you say you imported your ride, the reason is im looking into a cube or a bb. im in the P.I. bro i found out that parts for these cars are drying up especially for Japan converted cars its left hand drive here ("bb's case, there are no cubes stateside".) so people here are starting to jerry rig a mod and its only getting worse as time passes. i was wondering if you guys dont have that problem yet. i dont want to give up on these wagons they do have more personality than the other ricers... you know what i mean. anyways lets take a look at the skyline nxt time whew... another whip that i like. how are parts for that also?... anyhooos gotta go, Mabuhay from the P.I.
Parts for the Cube may be getting harder to find in Japan, but Malaysia has a huge huge aftermarket selection for these cars. You’ll be able to source most of your parts from Malaysia if you can’t find them in Japan. I’d recommend taking a look at some of the Malaysian cube owners forums or Facebook pages. Skylines are much easier to find parts for.
Is love to see that! But the most common engine swap for the cube tends to be putting in a 1.8L 4cyl from a Nissan Tiida. A very easy swap for a decent power gain
Suppose you saw a Mom with young kids reviewing a Mazda Miata. And she's saying stuff like, "Well, it looks really nice but man it lacks proper seating room for kids and you're fucking screwed if you go shopping." Right. Because that's not what a Miata was for. You'd have to be a tool to review that car that way. The Nissan Cube was a city car. For people who do not have large garages but need as much space as possible within their small car. It offers AMPLE seating room for 4 people. The CVT offers decent gas mileage and is for the person who spends a ton of time in traffic. And it's for the person who doesn't mind a different interior and exterior. THAT'S IT. It's a simple review. You don't say, "Whoa... this thing doesn't take corners well at high speeds." That's right. It's not a Miata.
JAJAJAJAJA

And Thirdly it comes down to location. Generally cars are slightly cheaper in the eastern states of Australia. If your looking at a Z11 5 seater, you shouldn’t need to spend more than $6000 - $6500 to find a fairly clean one. CVTs will be cheaper, but I’d snag a 4-speed if you’re able to find one. For your reference, the one in this video initially cost me $4500 but it had a large amount of work done before shooting this video.
@@jayzceegraham thanks mate! On point with the 4spd auto. Nissans are rubbish with cvts cause of the jatco cvts. Have a good one mate. Stay safe
@@jayzceegraham why am I finding all the used cars available online is around $13000😅 in Syd
Its a cruise car
So is it worth picking up late 2007 shape. 1.5 cubic.
I've heard that to figure out if it's a CVT or full auto is if there's any shift buttons on the steering wheel??
Last night I bought an 09 6 speed, but the clutch is a dead give away 😉
correct. no buttons on wheel = no cvt.
Have a 2003 I had shipped home (Canada) I love it have had it since 2018 and not put a cent into it. Same colour as yours. Will never sell.
what country are you in, I have to ask? i thought i heard you say you imported your ride, the reason is im looking into a cube or a bb. im in the P.I. bro i found out that parts for these cars are drying up especially for Japan converted cars its left hand drive here ("bb's case, there are no cubes stateside".) so people here are starting to jerry rig a mod and its only getting worse as time passes. i was wondering if you guys dont have that problem yet. i dont want to give up on these wagons they do have more personality than the other ricers... you know what i mean. anyways lets take a look at the skyline nxt time whew... another whip that i like. how are parts for that also?... anyhooos gotta go, Mabuhay from the P.I.
I luv mine, Qbert🥰
The only think that really bothers me is the asymmetrical rear window
It's certainly unique!
That's what i love.
what type of seats do you have
Classio seat covers for Z11
I like how you say car. *KAHR*
Haha, true aye!
So... can I fit a honda k series engine in one of those bad boys ??
Is love to see that! But the most common engine swap for the cube tends to be putting in a 1.8L 4cyl from a Nissan Tiida. A very easy swap for a decent power gain
@@jayzceegraham how much power are we talking and I've been looking for k cube swaps but I can't kind anything
Listen mate... it goes faster to 100 than my 1970 4.2 litre Holden Monaro automatic!🤣
Gangsta cube
The Cube looks like the car the Teletubbies would drive, that should be a positive. 😤
I go up against mustangs for the fuck of it in my 6speed 2012 cube. Again just for shits and giggles. These cars have no balls what so ever.
I hate the a symmetry
i actually have the shorter cube with 1.5l engine and cvt. And i have driven it 160kph :D
con: slow, edit: it's a pro cus it stops speeding assholes in my area
As much as i love fast cars, I do like to keep my speed on a race track. Luckily where I live, we are home to the 2nd longest race track in the world!
I think must be 2012 bud
I take you seriously.
Kahhh
Dont do the hip hop look it don't work. Try English gentleman instead.
JAJAJAJAJA
It's the ugliest Nissan ever
The Nissan Figaro might be worse
You dress like that and you drive a cube
Seems like an interesting observation
nice video. but it is wrong that gas cover sticker that means are like a Germany Nazism.
Go home, You're drunk.

😢😢😢
Genuinely the ugliest car ever made. No clue how people think this garbage looks good. Who the hell can look at this and go, wow! This is the best car I have ever seen I really love the look of it. Looks like a toaster on meth.
Boring means interesting for some. It's quirky
Super comfortable and so easy to get in and out of. Made for people tall or big.
Errr.... sangYong rodius
Good vid, but please get a better wardrobe...
