@@matteoman39 it was only open for 3 1/2 days, Friday through today @ noon. I’m not exactly sure why only the interior is open, but assume they probably don’t want a bunch of fishing boats in the entrance to the Bay in the way all of the ferries and other large vessels coming and going. Who knows though? Maybe there’s a big trough the fish stack up in right at the entrance of Elliott Bay and they don’t want us to have easy pickings? Haha… I doubt that’s the reason, but you never know. 🤷♂️ 😃
@@sdufg haha… we were there on Thursday for the opener and the bite at sunrise was off the hook. We hooked 3 on our first pass and people all around us were hooked up… then the bite just died… zilch, nothing, nada. I think the sun came up and those fish either headed to deep water or went up the river. So when we went on Sunday we were thinking it might be the same way… but it wasn’t… no first light bite to speak of and we fished for a few hours before we picked up the fish in this video. So to answer your question, did we have to get up at 3am to be fishing at 5am on this day? Nope! 🤣🤷♂️
@@elee4368 yes, unclipped chinook were allowed in Elliott Bay. The limit was also 2 per person. I think the reason for this is that the Soos Creek hatchery does not clip all of their fish. Thanks for the question, and thanks for watching! 😃👍
Thats a good lookin sandwich, might be enough to make fishing worth it!
@@kenhouse3484 c’mon up! Let’s go!!
Nice catch! Had no idea you could fish the eastern half of Elliot Bay. Any idea why it's split like that?

Hey nice fish. Mind if I ask where you launched at? And how bad the parking was. Thank you.
@@vitpav777 we launched @ Pt. Defiance and motored up north. No issue with parking there. 😃
@@GooglyEyeFishing oh that’s a ways. I was gonna ask if alki boat launch is any good. I’m from up north. So was wondering how it is there
@@vitpav777 it looks like a nice launch, and didn’t seem crazy busy to me as we passed by it a bunch of times.
