- Welcome back to the Dream Automotive channel! This week you join us back on the dyno with a second FL5 Type R for some Mythbusters style dyno testing.
It's rumoured that UK FL5 Civic Type R's have MORE POWER than the 326HP figure quoted by Honda, which was true for our own FL5! To confirm our suspicions, we have a good friends FL5 here with us, on the dyno!

I dont wanna sound cheeky but here i wanna ask the same question about the paintjob again. Is still not perfect on the red paint? Its metallic or are they still selling the red paint as uni?
Its call rally red again. So its a uni color right? What do you say? is it any better than your crystal black pearl?
Please lets be honest. The Fk8 Paintjobs in pearl/metallic weren't the best as we know.

Out of interest did you ever dyno a stock FK8 to see if that produced more power than Honda stated.
Believe they did and it produced more!
5-15 hp more i heard.

In theory, window visors added 15hp
They’d make even more if we mapped them in, we expect about a 30hp+ increase after mapping, especially as they’re Mugen deflectors! 😆 Thanks for watching!
What mods are you planning to do on this gen?
That's what my butt dyno says as well. It felt like there's more than what Honda rated them at.
Your butt dyno must be calibrated well then! 😁
Install of rear seat cover video on the way?
The tightness of the rope will affect the horsepower result. It might have 20hp gap. :)

It would be nice to know the mileage on both engines.
This car had just ticked over 600 miles, our was a little less when it first went on the dyno.
Both using 99 octane fuel
Out of interest what fuel are you using for the Dyno tests?

99 Octane Shell V power was used in this car! 💪
How does this compare to a stock FK8?
Unfortunately fk8 is slightly faster than fl5 due to better top end and a tad lighter. 😂
@@BrzBoyz831 not sure about that, drag races between the 2 aren't conclusive. Keep times are heavily skewed towards the FL5.
I wanted to know the difference in actual hp, was it more than 10?
@@alsayedfakhri4597 288-290 to the wheels for the fl5 is what I heard from most fl5 owner. They don’t make 315 whp like the factory say 🫢 315 to the crank maybe.
What's WHP? These numbers look like adjusted not actual whp like a mustang dyno
That's the point. They're trying to figure out if the engine is what Honda says it's rated at, or lower, or higher. WHP says nothing about that...
So in the real world not more than the FK8? Interesting.

The way the car moves forward over rollers makes me uncomfortable!
Why are you showing flywheel hp? We want to see the wheel hp.

in europe we always measure HP and a modern dyno does whp as well
