I feel like the Wii was just begging to be hacked, so it makes sense that Project M exploded on the scene and became super popular. This on the other hand is probably because of the outbreak which then forced people to play on computer ports and netplay. Ever since Slippy, melee found its spark once again and because of that, melee modding was back in play. Because of people playing on a PC port of it with great netcode, maybe it was easier to get the files of melee to then add things or retexture old things.

I noticed something -Kirby, Meta Knight and Bandana Dee in SSF2 -Kirby, Meta Knight and Gooey in Crusade -Kirby and Meta Knight in the other Melee modpack *Dedede always gets shafted*
I really like Akaneia, but I feel like Beyond Melee is too much. I feel like there's a cool middle ground where the vanilla stuff is only slightly changed (fixing characters' bad hitboxes, shields, etc. or bad stage collision, namely battlefield), but still adding new characters and modes and stuff. Idk if Akaneia would consider something like that, but consider myself in favor of it.
The wonderful thing about Wolf, Charizard and Diddy in Melee is that they feel so natural like they could’ve actually been in Melee back in 2001, they do not look out of place in the slightest. The Akaneia Team did an amazing job with them, I predict Wario or King Dedede will be next. My 3rd and final out there prediction would be Ayumi Tachibana, yes she was actually supposed to be in Melee.
"Planet Zeebs" Also surprised you did not mention Melee 20XX. Especially 20XX Tournament edition. It has TONS of costumes, music, past/future/custom stages, alt custom new abilities, and competitive tweaks in debug, as well as customizing map textures with toggle packs, and custom minigame modes. You can even play as the polygons, Giga Bowser, and both Hands. It's a really old mod too
The original announcer for Melee, Dean Harrington has done tons of new voice lines. Wolf, Charizard and Diddy Kong now have voice lines and I must say they do feel like they fit well. Despite Dean's age, he can still do the same great voice lines.
the reason Flare Blitz doesnt do self-damage is because its most likely flame wheel, as flare blitz didnt exist when melee released although charizard can’t learn it, this doesnt stop pikachu and pichu from having Skull Bash
Mods that are high enough quality to where if other people wouldn’t know they’re mods or quality of life additions are the mods I go for first in literally anything
Sonic in Melee goes as far back as 2002 when Electronic Gaming Monthly did their annual April Fools joke, when they said that Sonic is in Smash Bros Melee and all players had to do to unlock him was by getting 20 KOs in Cruel Melee. Obviously, it was a joke, but EGM later ran a contest where if players submitted videos of them getting 20 KOs in Cruel Melee, they would receive a copy of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the GameCube
My gripe about beyond Melee is Sonic's character model. It just looks like they ripped it straight from Brawl and retextured it (and Brawl Sonic's design is based on his appearance in Sonic 06, which released 5 years after Melee). If Sonic were to be in Melee, I would see him in his design based on his appearance in Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast, since that was his most recent design at the time Melee first released.
The Akaneia build seems really interesting. I really like the little mini games. It's so cool that people are modding melee. I need to pay more attention to the modding scene for smash

-Kirby, Meta Knight and Bandana Dee in SSF2
-Kirby, Meta Knight and Gooey in Crusade
-Kirby and Meta Knight in the other Melee modpack
*Dedede always gets shafted*
"PLANET ZEEBS" 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
The desired answer is
Can I burn this to a GameCube Disc?!
I would love to see what the akaino build will be in the next few years as that build could be the next project plus but for melee.
Love u bro keep up the amazing content 😩 ❤️
beyond melee is beyond based
200 Marios vs 1 Ganondorf: "To give your little brother A LITTLE chance"
I was expecting Banana Peels to simply damage you and bounce back, like how they were handled in the Wii fighter Twinkle Queen.
Whoever made these mods big props
The wonderful thing about Wolf, Charizard and Diddy in Melee is that they feel so natural like they could’ve actually been in Melee back in 2001, they do not look out of place in the slightest. The Akaneia Team did an amazing job with them, I predict Wario or King Dedede will be next. My 3rd and final out there prediction would be Ayumi Tachibana, yes she was actually supposed to be in Melee.
My dream choice would be James Bond (circa Goldeneye) since Sakurai actually considered him.
pretty cool. Makes me wanna get back into playing melee. I still have the game and a gamecube
"Planet Zeebs"
Also surprised you did not mention Melee 20XX. It's a really old mod too
the website says it dont even support costumes lol
Shadow mewtwo having pokken’s synergy gauge is awesome ngl
Akaneia Build: Who are you??
Beyond Melee: I'm you...but better.
(I'm kidding. Both are good in their own ways.)
I love how simple this mod is and all the models are fire
The original announcer for Melee, Dean Harrington has done tons of new voice lines. Wolf, Charizard and Diddy Kong now have voice lines and I must say they do feel like they fit well. Despite Dean's age, he can still do the same great voice lines.
Speaking of Wolf
I still hope that The Akenia Build mod will get the idea to add Krystal
Since Krystal is decades overdue for Smash
This is low res P+.
Melee isnt hard to customize, its just that they didnt want Nintendo hovering over the scene.
We need James Bond lool
I love the Smash community when it comes to these mods
the reason Flare Blitz doesnt do self-damage is because its most likely flame wheel, as flare blitz didnt exist when melee released
although charizard can’t learn it, this doesnt stop pikachu and pichu from having Skull Bash
Mods that are high enough quality to where if other people wouldn’t know they’re mods or quality of life additions are the mods I go for first in literally anything
I overall prefer Akaneia's philosophy, though I'd like to see some of the lower tier characters get tuned up.
That’s why Beyond Melee exists
The video ended too soon. May I have more please?
Sonic in Melee goes as far back as 2002 when Electronic Gaming Monthly did their annual April Fools joke, when they said that Sonic is in Smash Bros Melee and all players had to do to unlock him was by getting 20 KOs in Cruel Melee. Obviously, it was a joke, but EGM later ran a contest where if players submitted videos of them getting 20 KOs in Cruel Melee, they would receive a copy of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the GameCube
Cool!
that time frame when everyone was playing volleyball was really fun my pikachu was getting nasty
0:08 I'd kill for Earthbound 64 Lucas and Masked Man
Raichu looks dope!
My gripe about beyond Melee is Sonic's character model. It just looks like they ripped it straight from Brawl and retextured it (and Brawl Sonic's design is based on his appearance in Sonic 06, which released 5 years after Melee).
If Sonic were to be in Melee, I would see him in his design based on his appearance in Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast, since that was his most recent design at the time Melee first released.
idk why, but I really like the thumbnail. I think its the fact that it uses older-looking models, just looks far better than most newer models imo.
Yeah I think I was looking for this video
The Akaneia build seems really interesting. I really like the little mini games. It's so cool that people are modding melee. I need to pay more attention to the modding scene for smash
The Melee announcer provided new recordings for Brawl’s Legacy XP mod.
Facts
It would be insane if we had these guys in melee but with mods makes it so much, I love your vids man and I love Super smash bros too 💙 best video ever
Those new Beyond Melee stages seem a bit samey, aesthetics aside.
Akaneia is to Beyond Melee what Toontown Rewritten is to Corporate Clash.
Ill keep an eye on that archanea build. a mod that doesnt just add different layouts of battlefields for stages and even adds in silly new modes is something worth checking.
It took me way too long to realize that Flare Blitz straight-up wasn’t a move when Melee was released
Right next to this video on my recomendation, there's a video titled " helicopter falls on teen who saves pilot", with a thumbnail showing firey wreckage burning in the forest.
I'm like "Nah, this is more interesting."
