I think the Estate has been working just fine. We've gotten a severe amount of unreleased tracks, going from the Purple Rain era to Sign O the Times, and other miscellaneous things. We just now even got some outtakes from the D&P era, which was nice to see. I do agree that an EP like this would be nice, but I'm almost positive that the Estate has been nothing but nice to us. And, although I hate to compare the two, a lot nicer than the estate of Michael Jackson, who genuinely seems to just be making everything worse. God, if there's a message that should be telling the Estate to get their $%*% together, it would have to be for MJ. I'm sure the Estate is going to keep pleasantly spoiling us with unreleased stuff for P, however! There's so much stuff that we could genuinely be listening for years before we ever repeat anything (especially with the concert material, which also thankfully has been getting released more and more-although the Remaster for And the Revolution Live album is absolutely horrendous). TLDR; Prince's estate has been spoiling us over time, and I don't think they need to "get it together" Edit: It also would be nice to see some of his newer stuff released, since I feel they definitely have been leaning more into the eighties decade. I think that's why D&P was such a pleasant surprise, although it would be a safe bet considering that it was a massive album for him in the nineties. Would love to see Crystal Ball get a rerelease while they're at it!!
He was always growing and expressing himself FULLY. He stopped even being interested in making a mundane "hit record". Sort of like David Bowie. They got older and better and made albums without any "hits" on them. For my money, this is some of Prince's best work I've ever heard.
this is the type of stuff that should be immed released. Prince in his later stages did amazing things with gospel/ bible based projects. Rainbow Children and this are very strong material . guitar on this sounds phenom with the rawness at points of the Undertaker project (which should also be available by now.) the fanbase is not getting younger and digital releases would be a nice welcome. The Zappa estate is now showing what can be done after some inside turmoil and a great vaultmeister. (Joe Travers) , quarterly releases from a major label can be done and will sell .
Great comment. Every Prince fan is different - this, for me, is his best 21st century work. Rainbow Children had moments, for me, but overall I can’t enjoy it. Preferred Undertaker to the likes of Chaos and Disorder or Come. But this lit me up when it was briefly available a few years back, and does now.
Hmmm I personally enjoyed the entire Rainbow Children project!! If had to give a unbiased rating a firm 8.1 out of 10 (Maybe a 8.7 at highest) which is great!
This MAN was PURE GENIUS. tHIS EP IS EXTRA ORDINARILY GOOD. CANNOT STOP PLAYINING IT. Sunrise, Sunset is so beautifully arranged, 4 different voices, all impeccably performed by the Master, The music is slamming!!

One might conclude this final "album" is an almalgamation of Prince from 1977 thru 2016. You will find all the elements of everything he mastered all throughout. Funk/Rock/Folk/Pop/Gospel/Jazz & everything in between. Dude was an alchemist of virtually all things music.

Prince also said in an interview that when he no longer here that he wanted his music released from the vault. I wish the estate would honor his wishes. I want new music. I agree! I don’t care about remastering at all ( except maybe for Dirty Mind, where his voice isn’t loud enough over the music on certain tracks). I’m excited for the new things we haven’t heard, and different versions of already released songs are cool, too. 💜

He released some of the music unofficially to his fam on his website at the time and I would love for these to be released officially. Remember the One Song..that was genius 💜💜

I feel they are going to continue doing remastering adding one or two songs from the vault and charging whole lot of money that a lot of people can’t afford. There is only so much that can be recovered from Prince's legendary "vault" (but there is still also some of his "digital content" from his old website to be put out ). We miss him, but some of the material released over recent years is really worth listening to again! ☺
As the poster mentioned, this was released online briefly and then got removed by the Estate after a day or two, I believe. I was able to download it before it got removed. Also, I have a copy on vinyl which are still floating around out there. 👍🏾
Sometimes i just wonder what the hell is up with Prince and the prince estate. Why did Prince not release amazing material like this? There must be weeks and months worth of amazing music in his vault but the estate rarely releases anything, and if they do its not that interesting. I get that they want to be careful with releasing prince’s music because this may not be what he wanted with it, although its never confirmed why these albums didnt get released, but at the same time, he’s not here anymore, and he’ll never get the chance to change his mind about what he’ll do with the music.
Prince had problems with Warner Brothers and distributions of his work. Prince had made so much music, he could have gave half his vault of songs away that can be spread to 200 musicians and he would still never run out of material. I have close to 2500 songs released/unreleased, demos, junk projects, rehearsals, live concerts, in studio performances/outtakes, videos & movies he produced. Just an ABSOLUTE Genius, Prince IS Music. Jazz, Soul, Blues, Country _(yes Country),_ Gospel, Rock, R&B, Rap, Techno, Symphony rival or complement that of Beethoven or Mozart. Too bad he didn't have children to pass those musical genes forward.

The official Prince channel here does have a fantastic assortment of his works. "Originals", "1999 (expanded)", imho are highlights (along with the "greatest hits" and "anthologies"). even the Hit & Run projects are out here. ☺
