Brother, that very ,very Nice and awesome to you Collection I have a colt .45 defender in a compact version, it's a series 90 it was manufactured in the easy 90's possible late 80's. It has a serial number that's starts with zeros and only has one number 4 at the end. After the paperwork at a gun show, the lady, I'm guessing of the guy booth filled out all the paperwork , got the B.A.T.F. approved and as she was counting the money/cash, the guy her husband went to get change, and was going over the final/finished paperwork, And was Like W.T.F. HE DIDNT WANT TO SELL THAT GUN. the paperwork, A.T.F. approved, and cash was done. He was pissed. But now he could do. I still have it and will never part with it.
I just picked up a Glock recently as well, but it was a very ordinary one rather than anything cool or collectible. I don’t think I own anything anything modern with a cool serial number but if memory serves I have a Vetterli with a 2-digit SN.
Years ago you used to see the fish scale glocks more often, and something they used to call the frying pan finish. Dunno what that is as at the time I had no interest in glocks. Some of the glock armourers can tell you exactly when yours was made, if you happen to bump into one. One helped me out awhile back. My most unique serial number I suppose is an early ARX which has a sub-100 serial number. I bought a lower from the lgs once, and the guy behind the counter asked me if the serial number on it was ok- and its like- uhhhh sure? i dont care. He pointed it out again and the last digits was 666, and its like I DONT CARE. He said it bothered some people. *shrug*
Coolest serial I own is a Swiss k31 with a first year production serial. Very small production run, pretty cool gun.
