      Yes absolutely, just add a few rows on the flat knitting part. Instead of knitting 40 rows you can knit 60 rows

    These are amazing!!! Do you have finished measurements for the leg width and your gauge on these? I buy knitted merino pants for my toddler, thinking a 32 needle might work for a toddler!! Gauge would tell me for sure though. Not sure if anyone mentioned this but if you like a higher more secure waist you could add elastic! There are a few ways to do it, you could use a similar style to adding a double brim on a beanie if you want to use the machine or by folding it over and grafting the stitches with a tapestry needle or using circular needles. You would need to knit an extra rows to accommodate flipping the waist over though. There are lots of tutorials for adding elastic to knitted waistbands but I’ve only seen them done by hand not on the machine. If I end up trying it I’ll post a quick video and let you know if you want to link it for everyone 😊

    • @frejaknits
      @frejaknits  Год назад +1

      Hello! I’m not sure what the gauge on the sentro machine is, but the whole machine is 48 needles. I haven’t tried adding elastic but yes that’s a really good solution for a nice finish

    Bonjour
    Je t'ai découverte hier et j'aime bien cette idée de pantalon...après, je ne sais pas si j'oserais le porter pour aller dehors...par contre tu dois être très serrée dedans...si je peux me permettre, à l'entrejambe, il serait judicieux de continuer en panneaux et mettant les premières mailles de côté en dehors des picots de façon à augmenter de quelques mailles pour le dos pour faire de la profondeur aux fesses. Si tu regardes un patron couture, tu verras que la pièce du dos est plus large que la pièce du devant...ce serait bien plus confortable😉

    Have you tried making them doubled so they are less see through? Wonder how hard that would be... I guess you could make 2 pairs and then stitch them together on the ends.

    • @frejaknits
      @frejaknits  9 месяцев назад

      No I haven’t tried that, but yea I think how you describe it would be the easiest. However the yarn I use in the video is kinda thin. There are yarns that I think would work better if you want them less see through, but then it will definitely be autumn/winter pants. The yarn “socki plus” by Adlibris has a good thickness and is soft enough to work on the machine. Or any soft yarn for 4.5 or 5 mm needle. Then it also depends on your body size. I have big thighs which stretches out the pants more. ☺️

    Hi Freja, great video! I learned a lot. I have a question though, when moving the yarn from needle 48 to 47, do I remove both the yarn on the hook & the one underneath it? I found that when I moved the yarn, the yarn underneath would drop and cause a line of dropped stitches.
    Also do we change it to panel mode right after moving the stitches from 48 to 47?

    • @frejaknits
      @frejaknits  Год назад +3

      Hi! Thank you. Only move the stitch that’s on needle 48 to 47. It’s very easy to drop the stitch or cause needle 1 stitch to drop, so just go slow and look so no other stitch drops off. Only 48 should be empty. Then crank the other way and do the same for needle 1, move the stitch to needle 2. So in the end only needle 48 and 1 should be empty.
      Don’t need to change to panel mode.

    • @frejaknits
      @frejaknits  7 месяцев назад +1

      It’s a little difficult in the beginning but once you get a hold of it it’s a lot easier. You just have to go slow and don’t let the machine go to far once you have knitted the last stitch. You should crank the other way just when the last stitch has been knitted.

    • @frejaknits
      @frejaknits  Год назад +1

      Hey thank you! Don’t knit to far, just when u see that needle 47 has knitted then crank the other way. And keep an eye on needle 2. It happens sometimes that u maybe drop the stitch, just pick it up and go slow at the corners, constantly check so u don’t drop any stitches. It happens to me sometimes as well

      When you transfer the stitches and then the whole time you knit the flat panel you have to always look at the needles to see that u don’t drop any. In the beginning it’s easy to drop but ones u get a hang of it u won’t drop any. Just go slow, keep an eye out and if you see that u dropped a stitch put it back up.

    • @frejaknits
      @frejaknits  24 дня назад +1

      Hey! Yes flat knit is the panel mode however you don’t have to switch the button on the machine u can keep it in circular mode, I find that easier. If you want longer legs then you can knit more then 199 rows depending on you height. If you are shorter you can knit less than 199. If you want a higher waist then you can knit more than 40 rows on the flat knit part. The pants I have made in the video have quite a low waist

      Hi, do not crank all the way it’s easy that the stitch on the other needle will drop as they are very close to each other. Knit until you see that the last needle just been knitted then crank the other way. Sometimes u need too use your finger to adjust the thread on the needles. Go slow in the beginning and ones u got the flow u can speed up

      @@c4biddn42 you could also transfer one more stitch so you get more space. Move stitch 48 to 47 then 1 to 2 but then next row you can move 47 to 46 and then even 2 to 3 if you want, that way you have more empty needles and less risk of dropping stitches when u knit flat
