Honestly, i think that persona 5 suffered from what i like to call the "Final Fantasy VII syndrome." A game from a franchise gets bigger than the franchise itself, causing it to get a ton more love from the company that made it compared to any other installment in the series. With FFVII, that got its own compilation of content, with a bunch of spin-off games, cameos, crossover events, a remake and even a full movie. Persona 5 got its own compilation of content, with a spin-off game, a "definitive edition", cameos, crossover events and even a full manga and animation series. Both games are great, but the exploitation of these causes them to get more hatred from the community for being "stupid dumb normie shit games for babies that aren't real fans."

Technically, we could argue that a similar thing did happen with p4 during the "golden age." However, the only people who were truly aware of this content were fans of atlus and the smt/persona series. Here, with the more mainstream appeal of p5, similar to that of ff7. Both are fantastic games, but their popularity grew and grew thanks to their more mainstream appeal. Where it got to a point where even fans of their respective series must admit, it's simply too much

I've personally read it and I gotta say it reads like a bad fanfic, Supposedly Atlus retconned it in P4U to not being Canon but I have no 100% solid proof so take my word with a grain of salt.
I just want more Catherine-type game. Just one-off ideas that still very Atlus, very SMT, but are really unique in their own way. Ronde is just a bad tactical. Might as well remake Majin Tensei too, would be stupid to start from Ronde.

Is Persona getting milked to death? Honest answer: Probably, but as long as the games are good, I'm not complaining. Not every single thing Atlus is gonna make is gonna be fantastic, but there's definatly worse. As long as it doesn't get plain bad, (like some companies) I'm okay with they do. Hey, I like Persona 5. If the games are quality and fun, I'll buy them and play them.

Honestly, I don't mind Persona too but there is no denying that Persona is milking itself way too hard. There was a time when Persona remasters are legitimate upgrades and improved experiences. Persona 5 was the first time I realised there is no value in a game that will get an enhanced version soon and Royal proved to be exactly what I feared. Royal was made because its tradition to have an enhanced version and not due to a need for change. God knows what features were left behind because they can always release it later.
It's not just that but the fact that the spin-offs are the same price as the main games, Atlus are getting greedy because they know they have a cash cow on their hands

And I think Atlus is using spin offs as a trickery so they can desing new produts in peace without feeling to rush things. They did the same milking with Persona 4. It has orginal, golden, Persona Q, Persona Arena, Persona Ultimax, two Persona 4 animes, Persona 4 dance and Persona 4 crossover with Azure Blue. This milking is nothing new in Atlus.
I dont think Detective Naoto is canon anymore. But that was a dark time when it was. Because Arena and Arena Ultimax (THANK GOD) completely contradicts it
I'm pretty sure its only considered non-canon because nobody liked it (cough Trinity Soul), Arena and Ultimax take place about a year before Detective Naoto afaik.

Person is def being milked though as long as the quality is mostly good I’m fine but yes it can be tiresome. Persona 5 royal was the first time I felt this where I felt an enhanced port was made because it was tradition. The third semester is no doubt good and the new antagonist improved the story but I feel like they may have left out some features in the Base game just to make it justifiable to make an enhanced port. Also all the persona crossovers can be a bit overwhelming.

Atlus in a nutshell ; -Makes a masterpiece -Does 2345243 side games /content -Repeat it again (To be honest I'm not mad about persona series getting milked cause Its like a win win situation for me. In the other hand I can understand them too. Atlus isn't a giant company like rockstar or ubisoft . Comparing they're game quality and money they earn, its so low. If they hadn't milked their game, the company might have already sunk)

P4 milking was awful too, but most of it turned out to be at least good. P5 milking so far has only been trash. Even things using ideas from P4's milking time like Q2 and P5D are abyssal compared to Q1 and P4D which were not only fresh ideas back then but were also done really well. And let's not even speak about the anime. Also, I feel sorry for anyone hoping Strikers will fix that, it's probably the worst of the bunch.

Other than that, it's your average Koei shitty musou game story-wise. The new characters are awful, it's bad, bland, and doesn't add anything. It's hard to even take seriously/as a canon story with how stupid it gets, too. Character interactions are alright, but since I don't like P5's cast at all, it did nothing for me.

I'm really looking forward to the future of the Persona series because the Persona team has had a lot of changes in recent years, particularly with Katsura Hashino stepping down as the director and leaving Kazuhisa Wada in charge. Much of the team that made Persona 3 through 5 aren't working on the series anymore, and have moved onto other things like Project ReFantasy, and younger staff have started having more creative freedom with the series. Persona 5 Royal was the first project where people like Wada and Daiki Ito got to be fully in charge, and in my opinion, it turned out to be the pinnacle of the series. And with interviews saying that the team is wanting to try something new for the series, well, I can't help but be hopeful for the series with the knowledge that it's in such good hands.
If the guys who made P3 P4 and P5 aren't there anymore, I worry about the future, Royal wasn't my type of beer and it makes me kinda sceptical, that's just me though, plenty of people out there love Royal but I think that's that because of Yoshizawa, if they had added a male character with the exact same background and story involvement, people would be slaying it imo.

I got into persona when Joker join smash ultimate and I was curious about the persona series so after smash ultimate came out during Christmas of 2018 I got persona 5 and after playing it I love it so much beating it over 8 times so I glad I got into persona and I really love this game series
The smash ultimate dlc got me into a lot of games (including persona 5). I would get interested in the new characters then play their games and enjoy their inclusion.
Man I hope Persona 1 gets something special for its 25th anniversary this year. Regardless if its just an anime adaption, or a spin off like a metroidvania based off Persona 1: Tower of a different sky. A side story to Persona 1 that happens part way through Persona 1. Specifically when you have to head back to the real world and take on Super Guido. But the Deva System messes up and sends you to a different world.

Persona is now Atlus's flagship franchise not SMT meaning it's going to get all the spinoffs meanwhile most of the smt spinoffs save for Devil Sumoner, DDS (more an experiment then a spin off series), and Devil Survior were crap so it's not that big a loss. We will still get smt just not every other year like it used to be its going to be SMT, Persona and Persona spin offs and maybe Devil Survior of we are lucky

Hey Atlus, one word...PORTS! Persona 4 Golden was a huge success on PC. If they were to put the same time and effort as they did making P5 Scramble, they would have made as much, if not more money while also not milking the series. It's been almost seven months since the port of golden, unless it's a stealth drop why is it taking so long for a teaser or conformation for a new port? My theory is that more ports (and maybe some news on 6) is the surprise they've been talking about. It would make sense, after the releases of scramble they would have 8 months to work on ports of 1,2,3 and 5. This is usually a reasonable time for a few ports, (especially for old games like 1-3) while also giving the team working on the new mainline game to get together some footage for a teaser (assuming they've been working on it for a while). Persona 5 may be a stretch, but judging by it's (and persona 4 port's) success it's probably something they don't mind spending a bit extra on. Not only is this easy money it's also a great way to celebrate the series as a whole.

1:30 that crossover was so great they had a second part... which added the Twin Wardens as super bosses.... and they are stronger that the ones in Persona 5... also all four crossover characters (Joker,Mona, Violet and Skull) were(and still are) FREE
Honestly most of the milking comes from including p5 in countless mobile/gacha games and honestly i don't play them so i couldn't care less, and have stayed far from the anime for good reasons. Scramble has me hyped as hell though.

Honestly, I don't mind Persona too but there is no denying that Persona is milking itself way too hard. There was a time when Persona remasters are legitimate upgrades and improved experiences. Persona 5 was the first time I realised there is no value in a game that will get an enhanced version soon and Royal proved to be exactly what I feared. Royal was made because its tradition to have an enhanced version and not due to a need for change. God knows what features were left behind because they can always release it later.
It's not just that but the fact that the spin-offs are the same price as the main games, Atlus are getting greedy because they know they have a cash cow on their hands

They did the same milking with Persona 4. It has orginal, golden, Persona Q, Persona Arena, Persona Ultimax, two Persona 4 animes, Persona 4 dance and Persona 4 crossover with Azure Blue. This milking is nothing new in Atlus.
I dont think Detective Naoto is canon anymore. But that was a dark time when it was. Because Arena and Arena Ultimax (THANK GOD) completely contradicts it

Person is def being milked though as long as the quality is mostly good I’m fine but yes it can be tiresome. Persona 5 royal was the first time I felt this where I felt an enhanced port was made because it was tradition. The third semester is no doubt good and the new antagonist improved the story but I feel like they may have left out some features in the Base game just to make it justifiable to make an enhanced port. Also all the persona crossovers can be a bit overwhelming.

I dont see the issue on having spin offs, even if they turn out bad, if they abuse of milking persona, they will eventually fall really hard to the ground, just like other companys that saturate their biggest franchise.
I just hope they make not a P5 Arena, but a Persona Arena in general, with characters from 1 to 5, its the only thing that i really want from the persona series.

P4 milking was awful too, but most of it turned out to be at least good. P5 milking so far has only been trash. Even things using ideas from P4's milking time like Q2 and P5D are abyssal compared to Q1 and P4D which were not only fresh ideas back then but were also done really well. And let's not even speak about the anime.
Also, I feel sorry for anyone hoping Strikers will fix that, it's probably the worst of the bunch.

Character interactions are alright, but since I don't like P5's cast at all, it did nothing for me.

I'm really looking forward to the future of the Persona series because the Persona team has had a lot of changes in recent years, particularly with Katsura Hashino stepping down as the director and leaving Kazuhisa Wada in charge. Much of the team that made Persona 3 through 5 aren't working on the series anymore, and have moved onto other things like Project ReFantasy, and younger staff have started having more creative freedom with the series. Persona 5 Royal was the first project where people like Wada and Daiki Ito got to be fully in charge, and in my opinion, it turned out to be the pinnacle of the series. And with interviews saying that the team is wanting to try something new for the series, well, I can't help but be hopeful for the series with the knowledge that it's in such good hands.
Of course you’d succeed, if you just take what already worked and add stuff to it.
If the guys who made P3 P4 and P5 aren't there anymore, I worry about the future, Royal wasn't my type of beer and it makes me kinda sceptical, that's just me though, plenty of people out there love Royal but I think that's that because of Yoshizawa, if they had added a male character with the exact same background and story involvement, people would be slaying it imo.

I got into persona when Joker join smash ultimate and I was curious about the persona series so after smash ultimate came out during Christmas of 2018 I got persona 5 and after playing it I love it so much beating it over 8 times so I glad I got into persona and I really love this game series

Man I hope Persona 1 gets something special for its 25th anniversary this year. Regardless if its just an anime adaption, or a spin off like a metroidvania based off Persona 1: Tower of a different sky. A side story to Persona 1 that happens part way through Persona 1. Specifically when you have to head back to the real world and take on Super Guido. But the Deva System messes up and sends you to a different world.
A remake with a clearer story would be amazing. P1 had a great story but it does a meh job of communication.

I really enjoyed P5 and it definitely deserves recognition, but having been a fan of the Persona and SMT community for several years, it's sad to see how much it has changed in a negative way. I mean it was somewhat just a bit toxic back then, but not like how it is now.
And like I said I enjoyed P5, but I'm kinda ready to move on from it. At the end of the day though, this is just my personal view, and no one has to agree if they don't think it's right.

Persona is now Atlus's flagship franchise not SMT meaning it's going to get all the spinoffs meanwhile most of the smt spinoffs save for Devil Sumoner, DDS (more an experiment then a spin off series), and Devil Survior were crap so it's not that big a loss. We will still get smt just not every other year like it used to be its going to be SMT, Persona and Persona spin offs and maybe Devil Survior of we are lucky

You decide, the one you pick the other one died years ago) which has your father being scheduled for business trips while on the way home, you see a priest sexually assault a woman, you tried to stop it but the woman assures everything is ok, you walk away and a bird startled you causing you to trip and break the dream catcher, later you went to sleep and appear in a fortified cathedral where you got caught by priests and nuns and they throw you in a cell calling you a witch, you would be set free by an anthropomorphic bird which then leads you to the way out of the cathedral after dealing with the leader of the dream which is a pope, after you woke up and went to the priest’s house, he looked at you funny while describing what you did in his dream, after the talk you meet a talking bird which reveals that it’s the same bird you met in the dream and that’s basically the start.
Hey Atlus, one word...PORTS! Persona 4 Golden was a huge success on PC. If they were to put the same time and effort as they did making P5 Scramble, they would have made as much, if not more money while also not milking the series. It's been almost seven months since the port of golden, unless it's a stealth drop why is it taking so long for a teaser or conformation for a new port? My theory is that more ports (and maybe some news on 6) is the surprise they've been talking about. It would make sense, after the releases of scramble they would have 8 months to work on ports of 1,2,3 and 5. This is usually a reasonable time for a few ports, (especially for old games like 1-3) while also giving the team working on the new mainline game to get together some footage for a teaser (assuming they've been working on it for a while). Persona 5 may be a stretch, but judging by it's (and persona 4 port's) success it's probably something they don't mind spending a bit extra on. Not only is this easy money it's also a great way to celebrate the series as a whole.

1:30 that crossover was so great they had a second part... which added the Twin Wardens as super bosses.... and they are stronger that the ones in Persona 5... also all four crossover characters (Joker,Mona, Violet and Skull) were(and still are) FREE
