Webb sets up a clear distinction between the national conservatism that bases their world-view on _love_ , and the rationalist “post-modernist” that bases _their_ world-view on _hatred_ . I would argue that we should consider the socialist-humanist Erich Fromm. His “cultural Marxism” was based on democratic participation, and yes love: the productive capacities of people. The battle of ideas of which National Conservatism is engaged is between right-wing populism and humanism. The Nat Cons clearly side with certain right-wing demagogues like Farage, Johnson, and Orbán. However, Fromm has much to say about humanist way of organising life. In the _Revolution of Hope_ (1970), Fromm places emphasis on communication, stating: *_While there will always be fanatics and more or less sick as well as stupid people who cannot participate in this kind of debate, an atmosphere can be created which, without any force, eliminates the effectiveness of such individuals within the group. It is essential for the possibility of a dialogue that each member of the group not only try to be less defensive and more open, but also that he try to understand what the other person means to say rather than the actual formulation he gives to his thought_* .

5:25 "Needy and undignified" perhaps by the standards of a vile aristocracy-dominated past but democratic and egalitarian. This is England, you’re right. All our customs and laws have their foundations in the Judeo-Christian tradition. In ways you never even contemplate, including the mundane fact of your given name.
(1) An elite is good and necessary. There is no such thing as a functioning human society without an elite. (2) Religion offers a deep fund of moral guidance based on many centuries of wisdom and experience. (3) This is England, and it has been Christian for 1700 years or more.

Assuming a "culture" was good for all society.A love of money, power and an"elite" class is not good. Why keep bringing up"zadok",this is England not Israel.
@@PiersPloughman Yes, and both names.
A Muslim elite belongs in the Middle East not Europe
I'm impressed!
