If homie at glass box could figure out a way to drop his shipping to the same rates as Joshs Frogs I would use him exclusively. Guys plant selection is next level but the shipping usually has me thinking twice in the checkout.
Just want to say since you added in the beginning that this wasn’t an “exciting” video, I am super thankful for videos like this from you and other dart frog owners. I’m newly getting into owning dart frogs. I am very excited about it and always trying to learn more and more. I already knew supplementing was important but I do really appreciate videos like this with more education on how us newbies can take care of our frogs in the best way possible. So thank you!
Another good thing about caretenoids is that it's the safest way to give your animal vitamin A without the risk of vitamin A toxicity. Their body will convert the caretenoids into vitamin A when needed, almost eliminating the chance of an OD. I always thought this was the best thing about caretenoids, but most companies just advertise it as a color enhancer, which is cool too. Great vid as always, we still need that histo care vid lol
I have Ranitomeya who have proven to be lazy eaters. It takes them 2 hours to even acknowledge the flies. I have often wondered if they were even getting their nutes. That extra stick time auto sold me on this product, thanks man.
@@vids595 To be honest I stopped using them a while ago for my thumbnails because i was having trouble getting them to eat and I had read that they were probably eating the spring tails and not the flies
Great vid Troy, I've been thinking of messaging you about this very subject, you beat me to it so many thanks! Any chance you could do a video about UV-B supplementation as well? You mentioned it in a previous video but some elaboration on it would be cool, also interested to see how you tape the lamp into place. Cheers!
hey troy keep these coming pal your my go too for info on all things frog . you are honest about what you know and what you dont , this is amazing far too much contradicting info out there with people who dont know but claiming they are correct
Good video Troy, I was also using the Natural rose carotenoid from Tincman herps and it has done well for me. I switched to the Ranarium products when I met Damian at a frog meet in NYC a few years ago. Great product. 👍
I only have 5 darts right now but Bought the bundle.the calcium sticking on the flies for a lot longer was the seller for me.thank you for the discount
Good video.. wholeheartedly agree. Vits are essential and ranarium is awesome. Switched over about 6 months ago from rapashy and I’m really happy with the quality.. just need shakers lol
Agree 100%, I've been using Rana for a while and I HATE the bags with a passion. You know whats worse than the bags getting mess everywhere? The bags not sealing back up properly.
Greeetings from Ontario Troy! Just wanted everyone to know this product is available for order in Canada too :) Switching over from Repashy because of your video.
Anakin no! You were the chosen one. We trusted you! You turned to the dark side... Wait the tadpoles, dont tell us you turned on them too. Promoting a product, knowing the owner, I will stick with Repashy..
Lol, I’ve always said I think everyone should use what’s working for them... I still have repashy and still use it. Ranarium so far since I’ve been using it is a great product as well. But as I’ve always said in my videos... you do you.
I mean hey man. Supporting smaller businesses will greatly benefit the hobby. This is probably something I’m going to need to take a deeper dive into but do what I’ve learned is this. All products are not guaranteed to be perfect especially with a complex and rapidly evolving hobby. So for Troy to recommend something is not that big a harm. Repashy is known and trusted company so this video won’t sway massive amounts of consumers from them. On a side note I agree it is a little uncouth for Troy to recommend a product in such a way but he is benefiting a smaller company with quality over quantity motives. Helping out the little guy is great for a small hobby like this. I’m sure this video was done in good faith and meant to promote the hobbyists not split them.
I wasn’t really trying to sway people away from repashy, I still use repashy, I use many different vitamins... not many people know about ranarium, it’s a great product and I want to try and let the hobby know about this product.
this video was posted 1 year ago, dont know if u keep alert to comments on old videos, but if u do, please ask for this guy to start shipping to other countries, or just create an ebay announce for that... i would love to use his products here in brazil, if u think is bad to spend X dolars on supplements, imagine spending this ammount, but with your coin worthing 5x less, and having to pay at least the product price on shipping even when buyng 5 packages(or 2or 3 times if you buy just one) lol. Love ur videos, and sorry for the poor english.
and another tip, this one should be for every company that makes similar products... if you have one product that is recommended to be used 2x per week, another one that is weekly, and another that is monthly, and al luse the same amount per use, WHY THE F%#$ you seel them on the same package size only??? just create smart packages sizes that would do for and equal ammount of time... lol
I tried to order the supplements from Ranarium and it wouldn’t go through the internet so I tried to call and it wouldn’t go through either. Can you please tell me where I can get these?
Have you ever considered using a clay ground in your vivarium. Ive red that it’s beneficial for frogs because there skin can take up ions out of the clay.
Hey Troy. Can you comment back about what schedule you use these on. In other words what rotation do you use for this product (which days are you using a specific supplement)
Is Ranarium still producing products? It doesn't seem like their website is active. Sorry if this is a silly question, I'm just getting into dart frogs
Troy: I have been using these supplements for a month now. Only had my first frogs for a month. I noticed that this time when I used the carotenoid that a bunch of flies got out if my enclosure. I am thinking that the frogs just didnt eat them. They usually eat them up pretty fast so there are little escapees. Is it possible they dont like the taste of it and didnt eat the flies.???
Another great informative video! I decided to try the Frog Bundle Pack since it is time to replace my supplements and the 20% discount. I've been using Repashy with no issues. One more thing to consider about the cost. Repashy is free shipping through Josh's Frogs while Ranarium charged me $10.85, that's a jar of Repashy delivered with change back, lol. Wish they would package the monthly supplements in smaller amounts, just a waste unless you have a ton of critters. .
Yeah sometimes it’s hard to beat joshs frogs on the free shipping stuff... you gotta realize that they’re a huge company, and places like glassboxtropicals tropicals an ranarium are incredibly small in comparison... it’s like comparing, a mom and pop shop to a place like amazon...
What would you recommend for a 20 gal hex aquarium converted to a vivarium. I'm looking at tinks but I want to make sure I get something bold hearty and colorful.
I'm considering giving Ranarium vitamins a try but I'm concerned about pesticide. There's currently a thread on Dendroboard about supplements and someone brought the possibility of pesticide found in bee pollens. What are your thoughts on this?
I use a mix of things … still using repashy calcium plus as the daily… but I use ranarium Caro plus 2x a month…. I rotate the vitamin A between repashy and ranarium
@@TroyGoldberg Cheers man - I use Superfly for convenience. So found a UK supplier for the Ranarium and he recommends using the cal-bee supplement too?
Are you sponsored by Ranarium or did you receive anything free product from them? I tend to think you have an affiliation if they gave you a discount code. If that’s the case according to FTC regulation you have to disclose sponsored content.
No I’m not sponsored by him, nor did I receive anything for free, Damian is a friend I talk to n facebook, and I did let him know that I was doing a video on vitamins and my experiences with his product and his said he would do a discount code on his website for my viewers. I figured it was a great Idea for people that watch my videos to get a good deal on a great product.
