  • The greatest closer in Major League Baseball history. Tonight 9-26-2013 Mariano Rivera threw his last pitch in the Bronx. I've admired him as a player and a person for as long as I can remember and he will be missed. Thanks for the memories Mo.

I'm not a Yankees fan but this shows that when people say "It's just a game" that they are dead wrong. This is someone's life. They can't think of any other way but to play this sport and it's very emotional. Great pitcher and I love his passion for the sport.

Definitely the greatest closer of all time and just a class guy from start to finish. So humble and unassuming. Its so rare to find an athlete in any sport with his level of talent but without the ego or arrogance that most of those athletes have.
Although I'm not a Yankee fan I've always admired and respected Mo, Jeter, Pettitte and Posada.

I mean I was doubled over. I then had to get up and leave the room to keep from annoying my co-worker. So I walked into the bathroom and laughed even harder. Brother I needed that. Laughter is good medicine and I needed a shot.

He is the definition of a man. For someone to be able to go to a city where people should hate him to death and get standing ovations is absolutely incredible. I'm speaking of when he went to boston not this clip of course, but on and off the field he handled himself so proffesionally. There had to be a point in his career when he realized he was the best. And not just now, but best ever. He could've gotten cocky and demanded huge contracts, but he just wanted to play ball. You can't measure him up to any person who's ever lived.

This is a great job by Michael Kay the tv/radio announcer who knows when to stop talking and let the moment play out. 4 minutes of just stadium sound. Class act all around.

the end of an era..i remember being a young yankee fan in the late 80s/early 90s, wondering if i would ever see a great yankee team like my parents talked about, they were so bad in my first few years as a yankee fan, then the CORE 4 came up in 1996, and showed me what yankee greatness was all about, the 1996-2000 yankee dynasty was all because of these guys..gonna miss em all!

Dodger fan here...always hated the yankees. but there's just some players you can't hate. Mo being one of em. that was truly a memorable 2-game series at dodger stadium. and in the second of those games, once again, like always, he slammed the door, and put us to bed. The Sandman. Whether we all want to admit it or not, all of baseball and its fans miss you, and only wish you and your future endeavors exactly what your pitching has always been, the best.

I know what you mean... I'm an Angel's fan and can't stand the Yankees, but there are definitely some players I like and respect. Mo and Jeter being a couple of them.

No one cares who you are a fan of. Cool your a Red Soxs fan? This is about the career of the best closer in the history of baseball. This is amazing and everyone showign respect when its deserved and clearly felt the love. This brought tears to my eyes. Hope the rest of his life with his family is even better.
