The PMP certification is totally worth it! But ONLY if you pass to become a better PM and not just to have the credential. Learning the PMP principles really makes me think about how the objectives meet strategy. Also, it makes me break things completely down and define requirements and made me more agile. It has opened way more doors and got me more money. And as the only PMP on my informatics team, I am positioned to the project management expert and really make sure my teams projects and programs are in tact and properly defined and created.
Underrated comment - agree. I’m getting my PMP this April so I can truly improve my processes. I don’t need the cert - I’ve been a high level PM for a while now.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Management as well as a Master's in Data Analytics. Additionally, I am working towards obtaining PMP (Project Management Professional) and CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certifications.
Alvin. I've owned my own IT and automation consulting company and have been partner in a few other GSA contracting company. Would it be worth my time to invest into a pmp certification.
As a business owner, having the PMP Certification could be a great way of demonstrating your expertise & experience from a globally recognized & accredited body (PMI) that you can showcase to future clients to gain even more work, build your reputation, and increase your revenue
Love the video. I'm in my third professional chapter of life. I have a substantial experience as a successful entrepreneur in the film and television business. I don't have tech experience like some others here. I really am attracted to achieving a PMP certification but am concerned it is just addition to my CV where future employers will still look for tech/engineering background experience. Any thoughts?
So glad you found the video helpful, Richard, and glad to have you here! Having the PMP Certification will definitely help, especially if you're trying to pivot careers in today's competitive market. Since you have a lot of experience in the past, you can leverage your diverse background to highlight skills for the future roles you want to apply for. It's all about how you package and sell yourself to future employers
The PMP Certification is widely known across many industries, and can absolutely help. I recommend checking across job postings specific to your industry, to see if it's something that is preferred or required
Glad you found the video helpful! I've touched on this in my other videos - AI keeps rising, but they don't have what "we" have, which is that personal and human touch that's needed to influence others, connect with others in a more personal way, and drive decisions in a strategic and relatable way. I view AI right now as a tool that helps brainstorm and refine ideas
I am a Sr.QA and PSM I certified professional , I am taking up Data Analytics course as well as my upskill goals, I am interested in project management roles . Do you think PMP certification will open up new opportunities for me. Please guide .
Hi! How do they actually ensure that you do have the experience managing projects and not just bluffing? I mean anyone could just say to have the experience but do they actually ask for any type of proof? BTW I've just found your channel and I am really liking your content.
@@edgararturovargastorres3482 So glad you're finding my content helpful! PMI randomly selects people as part of the PMP Application Process for an audit, and if you do get selected, then you'll have to have your Supervisor/Point of Contact sign on your behalf that the experience you listed on your application was true & accurate
Really glad you found the video helpful! My FREE PMP Course shows how to answer situational based questions that have been updated to the latest PMP Exam, and also covers the most important information you need to learn Agile. Great video. How do you think PMs or aspiring PM's should prepare for the increasing influence of AI tools and platforms?

How many years do you need to work as a Project manager to be able to sit for the exam?
To sit for the PMP Exam, you need 3 years of experience managing projects, not necessarily the official Job TItle as a "Project Manager"
