@ShotByZy you are correct. And a pursuit has a "column shifter" with a toggle switch which allows for "manual" shifting. When that toggle switch is activated, the dash indicator shows "5". But when the column shifter is removed, and the the floor shifter is wired, the toggle switch is taken out of the circuitry. So now when the floor shifter is placed into "manual" shifting, it starts with "4". I researched how to integrate the toggle switch into the floor shifter, but it was getting messy. I'm happy with the functionality of the shifter now, and don't necessarily need to shift from "5".😀
There are two no 4 cavities listed because the chart includes both police and non police. The wire I was concentrating on was the black wire from the harness under the dash, since my car is police. There is not a black/orange wire on the harness under the dash of my car. Make sense?
hello i was wondering if you still have the your old shifter cable if so can i buy it i been looking for one for months dealership dont make that part and i tried all the junkyards in my state and the some in the state next to mine i will pay shipping and and what every you want the the cable if you still have it.
Hello. I’ll need to check and see how if I still have the cable. It may have been disposed of with the other parts, but I’ll take a look next time I’m in the garage.
I’m not certain. The V6 cable might be a different length. I could have made the existing cable work, but it was easy enough to order the right cable and install it.
@@1half.fastgarage I got everything to work on the dash but when I put it into reverse it goes forward and when I put it into park to turn off it jolts forward before it shuts off do you know what the problem could be?
Hard to say. Sounds like the cable is not adjusted correctly. I replaced my cable since the one that goes to the column is too short to work correctly with the floor shifter.
Not exactly. I think I know what your asking. When the shifter was on the column, and you hit the auto stick button, the dash would indicate “5” and the MSD would then be disabled. I was not able to duplicate that on this conversion. No, when you slap the floor shifter, the dash indicates “4”. But I will be disabling the MSD with a Diablo Tuner when I finish the Smyth Ute conversion.
@@SergeantNicholas Well, that’s a good question. 5th gear is most likely overdrive. I’ve cruised in 4th at 2300 rpm and the car seems to like it. Since I installed the headers, there is a bit of a “drone” at 2000 rpm, so increasing the rpm to reduce the “drone” works for me.
My question is, if it’s a pursuit shouldn’t it have 5 gears not 4? Only the v6 had that optioned

Very detailed! Guess I'll hafta build one of my own now...
That’s a good idea, then we can be twins!
So the police chart you have has two no 4 cavities. One of which says black to black/black orange. Where does the other no 4 go?

What if I just extended the factory female end to reach the floor shifter
You could do that, but I wanted to avoid cutting into the wire harness of the car.
would I be able to put 2015 charger interior into this year charger?
Not sure. I believe the shifter wiring is different for a 2015, but not sure about the seats, door cards etc.

Are v6 and v8 the same shifter and cable?

who do i go to so i can pay someone to do it for me
Your local mechanic should be able to make the swap. It’s not difficult, just time consuming.
Did you have any problems with the car not going into reverse after installing the floor shifter?
No problems with reverse, but a problem with the car shifting into drive, at first. Until I adjusted and tightened up the shifter cable.

Dose it go in to 5th gear ?

Ok thanks and I have another question would it hurt the transmission to have it just as a 4 speed
