Every year in the English Peak District the village of Castleton hosts its annual race night at the George pub raising money for local charities.All good clean fun and enjoyed by all. The George's Race Night is a major event on the calendar.

Dear God how I wish I could have been there, drinking real ale and raising money for LICAL charities. Only drink white wine in Spain!! Unheard of for me 7 years ago! God I miss England sometimes!

@@thepeakdistrictviking having sold a house in U.K. 7 years ago for 265k and since messed around and bought 3 years ago at £140k, I can’t see a financial route back to the U.K. There again … when the cost of living here is so low & the sun shines (genuinely) around 340 days per year… what does England have to offer me now? Immediate dentist & doctor appointments; pay ‘council tax’ once per year at €214; 50g tobacco @ €12.50 and the list goes on. BUT … I do miss the England countryside!
