Nice video we have the same Monitor so its pretty cool for reference lol. Well I have the m32u same thing just little bigger
I had no idea about overdrive being good for gaming, I had it off on my monitor! thanks man
Nice guide Panjino, but you forgot to mention that if you're running an Nvidia GPU and your monitor supports the "perform scaling on: Display" scale then you can set any desired custom resolution on your monitor at max Hz supported and enjoy a very unique gaming experience WITHOUT ANY INPUT LAG WHATSOEVER. For example i am a strong monitor enthusiast (own 9 high end monitors) and what i am really interested in is missing from the current monitor market. My favorite of my monitors are 2 for different reasons, my Alienware AW2721D, IPS panel at 1440p, 27", 240hz, Gsync for atmospheric experience single playing games and semi-competitive pvp games and for absolute sweating in PvP i use my BenQ Zowie xl2546k, TN panel at 1080p, 24.5",240hz, Dyac+ for fastest possible responce times the absolut minimum input lag and that stellar motion handling from Dyac+. Now what i did is the following> i tried to combine all in one on my Alienware AW2721D that supports the perform scaling on Display option on my Nvidia settings combining all the elements im really after such as smaller than 27" display for better peripheral vision and competitive advantage, custom resolution that actually recreates that stellar 1440p visibility on the same analogy per inch and the true usage of 240hz maxed out on all my fav games at all times from my Asus TUF Rtx 3080 Oc that had some problems reaching a constant 240hz at 1440p on the games i love. Therefore my final results for my experiment is> custom resolution of 2304x1296 px (which offers an overall lower input lag since the GPU is rendering in theoritical less res than the native one while the scaling is performed instantly from the display itself), 240hz, Gsync ofc disabled since im running at the max hz at all times and a diagonal size of about 25", Overdrive on the middle setting of SuperFast, Black EQ at 2, and custom color profile. This resolution on that size is addentical to 2560x1440 px (1440p) resolution on 27" which is the native one. NOTE* most people might not like the black boarders around but i was already used to it from the side panels of my BenQ for making me to be way more focused at the middle of the screen.
I have done the same for my AMD 6700XT Powercolor Red Devil. I render my games @ 1080 and upscale to 1440p and I've locked all my games inside adrenaline to 120Hz as I see no difference between 120 & 165Hz. I use a Dell S2721DGF 1440P IPS Freesync Pro monitor and its so good, amazing colors and is able to give my gpu room to play. My GPU at my settings is able to play every game at 55° C under load. My cpu never touches 60°. Very happy with my system and the performance I get. (CPU is a 5800X all core to 4.3 GHz, a negative 20 curve optimized with PBO2 enabled and did an undervolt to 1.1250V with D.O.C.P. enabled)
I like the idea, what was the best settings you found when using the benq?
@@kodacko i do own Dell S2721DGF aswell among my other monitors and though nowadays i use it only for obs and streamin, to be honest this is BY FAR THE BEST VALUE / PERFORMANCE monitor i own. SOoooo happy with it, its extremely underrated for what it offers. 1440p 165hz with minimum input lag, no ghosting at SUPERFAST overdrive setting and insanely low price. Amazing buy!
@@TheLaDT2940 i always set my BenQ at native resolution, performing scaling on:Display, Overdrive Premium, Saturation 12, Brightness 100, Black Equaliser 5, 240hz, 1080p natively as for the purpose of my experiment was recreating a scimilar to BenQ type of feel but on a higher resolution and IPS colors at 1440p, therefore the entire experiment was conducted on my Alienware AW2721D which is natively 1440p, ips, 27", 240hz ending up recreating amazing dot/inch resolution on a 25,5" sized "window" with wayyy better peripheral vision than the native 27" maxing out the 240hz on all of my games and dropping input lag/responce times to almost a perfect 0. The only downside, im used to it now and it doesnt even bother me at all, is the artificiall black boarder around the image which is max of 1,5" and its totaly berable compared to the gains i have.
Could you elaborate?
Good afternoon. Please help me to understand the issue. There are two laptops with a screen refresh rate of 240 Hz. Asus scar 18 *4090 with G-sync and MSI Raider GE78 HX (4090) without G-sync and without adaptive refresh rates.. Question: When playing shooters, will there be a difference at 240 Hz with G-sync and without G-sync. will there be image breaks at 240 fps? (in my region, Asus with G-sync is more expensive by $ 1000)
I won't overpay a single penny for G-sync/Free-sync technology. It's not something I use, but i've never had screen tearing issues on the other hand.
I believe the higher your monitor hz is, the less noticable becomes the screen tearing. I currently own a 240hz monitor, don't reach such frame rates in most games and I don't notice any screen tearing. Same when I had a 144hz
Hello how are you ? I would like to know if there is any program on your site that limit ram for each application separately? thanks

Hi, im currently using Gigabyte M28U, is this monitor G-Sync Compatible? Under Nvidia control panel, it states " Selected Display is not validated as G-SYNC Compatible". Any idea why?
I got today same monitor and i tried to hook up on my laptop to check it out.( I ordered desktop pc but need some time to arrive) I cant get more then a 60Hz on 4k right now. Is it because i can just use HDMI cable or its something else?
Hi @Panjno, I have a question, I have G-SYNC compatible 240hz monitor, I cant get the 240 stabilish FPS in the games I play, how should I lock my FPS?
Either 250 or 230 depends if you are facing problem with doing the full 240 hz
hello anywone knows what is like 6 bits+FRC i have that in my specification of monitor like this 8bits(6bits+FRC) and have amd graphics witch one to choose and what is difference
On the testufo site I keep getting this message "PERFORMANCE WARNING: Potential browser stutter occured (1)". I've been using this monitor for months but recently been having issues with input delay so I'm trying to troubleshoot. Does anyone know what causes this error message to appear?
With the brightness you missed something.
Every monitor you buy has a contrast ratio and color reproduction space that they are rated for. They usually boast these if they are high and plaster it all over the box and adverts (eg: 1000000 : 1 contrast ratio and 120% rgb coverage!!! buy our screen!).
What they dont tell you is that to achieve these numbers your screens backlight / brightness has to be a certain level or higher. EG Most monitors reach their advertised numbers when the screen brightness / backlight brightness is 80% or over.
Yes the screen may use less power with its backlight set to 20% But you will struggle to see enemies in shadowy corners and colors wont appear as they should.
How you keep your screen image how its supposed to look is by setting the screen to 100% (preferably but no lower than 80%) If you wish then to not blow your retinas out when a flashbang goes off then you adjust the games brightness with it's in game slider.

I’m playing my games on my new 360hz monitor changed all the settings in display and nvidia control panel and have fps set to 360 but I noticed I feel and move a lot slower in game any idea why? Tips on fix? It’s the Alienware 360hz monitor 24 inch
Anyone help please. I have a series x and just got a samsung odyssey g7 28 4k 144hz. I can only turn overdrive mode on if i turn off freesync. All in all i want the best fps and image possible. Should i not use 4k and just use 1440p? Use hdr400 or not? I just cant seem to grt it to look good.

You need an external monitor and you MUST connect laptop and monitor via USB-C type connection preferably DisplayPort. Since HDMI connects you to iGPU instead of dGPU
I also have the m28u monitor . Why do u have super resolution on zero. I normally us 3 . Is that bad ?

i have a gigabyte monitor, with freesync, i also use an rtx 3050 graphics card with gsync enabled unsupported monitor. the major problem I'm having while gaming is flickering, is there any way to fix this?
I have adaptive-sync on my monitor. Is that the same as free sync and g sync? And if I don’t always hit my resolution 144htz for my fps should I turn it off or on?
I have the same adaptive on my msi mag322cqrv monitot, i assume its basically called freesync (AMD) which nvidia doesn not have, v sync is all i can find in nvidia control panel.
You would need an AMD card for this monitor setting.
Or buy a monitor with G SYNC if your card supports g sync
I have a monitor that says adaptive sync and it definitely supports both free sync and G sync. It automatically detects AMD or Nvidia. That's why I bought the monitor
Should i have freesync premium on or off if im playing on ps5
Unlocking your fps above your monitors refresh rate lowers your input lag which is an advantage in competitive games. With a freesync monitor, you don't get any screen tear ever.
yes, but "With a freesync monitor, you don't get any screen tear ever."
freesync dosen't work when its outside the "box" of frames
but what if i have an 240 hz monitor j put g sync on but my fps drops to like 180 always should i put it on or off

Love your videos! Can you make a specific video for Genshin Impact?
If you have an Aorus FV43U all over drive settings cause extreme inverse ghosting.
Heck even with over drive off you may encounter it -_-
5:25 guessing this is the same as sRGB mode? Though, sRGB makes monitor extremely dark and grayed out
not if it is set up correctly which he explains at 9:30 a little bit off the screen in the bottom on that menu, you need both the monitorAND PC set to full dynamic range output to see the correct color scheme as the game was developed and intended on...srgb is NOT the same thing i don't think at least not on alone by itself...but your "monitor" should have a full/partial rgb range setting somewhere...mine comes up as HDMI RGB PC Range on my benq and on my Alienware its input color format...when you get it set up correctly it looks like crisp balanced colors with a lot more depth...it should not be dark or grey at all.
Watching ur video on OperaGX
Hey your videos helped me out a lot, can you tell how you did the win menus and folders in this clean rounded shaped look ?
What about VRR inside Windows? Should be turned On when using Gsync/ Freesync?
I don't use it, I assume it won't work too well, because it's Microsoft and they love to fuck everything up. If your monitor and graphics card already support FreeSync/VRR, I don't see what Windows would do different to improve your experience

You forgot 1 thing to mention in this entire video, the monitors rgb Icc profile install and driver for the actual monitor. Then making sure that the Icc profile is set up properly in windows so it stays on that profile rather than windows just using there own rgb icc profile....to better make sure that windows doesnt change this icc profile whuch can happen i,d suggest running a program called displaycal, displaycal will make sure your proper monitors RGB ICC profile will stick properly.
Doing this makes 1 hell of a difference to the quality you get out of your monitor rather that messing with dials. You will get true RGB colours that look great.
I have recently found out i can activate rgb colors ON MY MONITOR! benqxl2566k and it looks way better this way than with nvidia control panel rgb! does this have anything to do with my discovery ??
so i got 60hz when i turn on freesync is going to 72hz do i need to trun it off or leave it on 72hz ?

How do I get rid of the screen jitteryness of Apex Legends? It's not screen tearing but it's jittery like when I look left or right up and down like the terrain looks like it has a hard time catching up with itself and it just jitters. Am I the only one who sees this or is this just a problem with Apex? The only thing I can do that seems to get rid of it for the most part is enable triple buffering and I don't want to have that enabled or do I? I have a 240 hertz monitor RTX 2080 TI super with an i7.
Are you running TWO monitors?
I have the same issue with apex only, small jitters, when freesync is on it doesnt happen, 1 monitor
Wow I actually have this exact problem, It jitters when ever it drops at least 1 frame... and I play on a 165 hz monitor with a RTX 2060, and a i7 aswell. and it happens when I look around, and it didn't use to happen

@@Panjno It started happening right after a power outgage, it used to be really jittery and stuttery but I fixed the stuttery part, now its just very jittery when I get into a game. This only happens in Apex.
Ok maybe I'm a bot but if I cap my fps it increases my input delay... On apex if I don't cap my fps I'm getting 3.2 ms if I cap it I get 7 to 8 ms so I don't understand why we cap the fps if it increases the input delay
Can one can fix my problem like
My pc specs are Ryzen 7 8gb ram and 710 gt gpu
I used to 150-250 FPS in valorant
Fortnight 60-120 FPS
But after 7-8 months suddenly my FPS drop to 10-15 no lag just FPS drop playable games are not playable and I can only fix this by restarting my pc several times
What can I do ? Is it ram or parts damage or virus??
Panjno my G-Sync just disappeared… how do I get the setting back?
is there any difference with DVI to displayport cable?
I prefer dvi and hdmi over displayport. You can't play stretched with display scaling on display port. It forces gpu scaling.
Should I put my overdrive on normal or extreme?.. I only have those two options
Extreme will be faster and be lower latency. Test both doing the test shown (playing a game in a dark area) and find what your prefer

Should also talk about FPS itself, that capping fps and using monitor HZ at multipliers of 60 for example (60\120\) would give the smoothest picture quality, because it fixes "judder". it also helps if you are streaming or recording videos
That's only true for cheap monitors without Adaptive Sync
@@maaax1173 for better image quality its better to no use adaptive sync(gsync) it causes other problems. Vsync on is better when you see visible tearing in games and capping fps and hz as a multiplier of 60 is the smoothest experience.
