All the guys I went to Catholic all-boys high school with hug at reunions and we graduated nearly 40 years ago. Nearly all of them are married to women. Some start crying. I'm not out, but I'm not married. No guys in my graduating class came out as gay. They few, we know each other, but don't say anything out loud.
I'm quite comfortable with hugging men. If I should cross paths with StanChris, I'll hug him also!

I always feel like a closeted bi/gay guy would have the most issues with hugging another guy. If this was not an act than Joey is sus lol.
I actually don't think it always boils down to homophobia. A lot of men aren't comfortable hugging other men whether they are gay or not because it's just how they are. I know straight men who aren't very comfortable hugging men or women unless it's their mothers, wives or daughters and even then some find it awkward . Even some women are not very tactile and find it awkward hugging other people too. At the end of the day unless someone is attacking you just for being gay or doing anything bad to you then there's no reason to think they are homophobic. We have to respect another persons boundaries and personal space and if a man isn't comfortable hugging other men then that's okay and to be respected. Not everyone is a huggie person an no one should be shamed into doing anything they aren't comfortable with. Men can be masculine and like to have certain boundaries with other men without being toxic. I know many straight masculine mens men who are not toxic in the slightest, they are some of the best men I know and the happiest. They aren't like that because of society or because they have been repressing their feminine side, it's how they naturally are. Gay men on average do have more feminine traits than straight men and there is a lot of science to back it up. Some parts of a gay mens brains are feminised more like a straight females research has shown. This is likely due to lower exposure to testosterone in the utero while lesbians have been exposed to higher levels than straight females.
You do realize this video was scripted as fuck? It's beyond obvious. Joey is very accepting of Chris in all of Chris' vlogs then all sudden in this particular Shorts he's treating gay as something he's not comfortable with? LOL.

@@talegamer1310 Yes in a perfect world everyone would be respectful, but unfortunetely not everyone is or not everyone thinks before thy say stuff like that. Most men are straight and there is a good chance that most don't have a close friendship with a gay man, so it's likely they make gay jokes with their friends without really considering it. Their experience is not a gay mans experience and most aren't out there reading up on how to not offend a gay man. They don't have the same experience as a gay man so what could be very offensive to a gay man the straight man could think of as harmless banter. A lot of straight guys do see it as gay to hug a guy and that's their perogative to feel that way and believe what they like. They don't have to change for anyone or pussy foot around other peoples feelings. It's the same with people who have a religion that is anti gay. They don't have to give up or change their religion to not offend gay people, we're free to believe whatever we like.
My advice would be to not take it to personally because we all have our biases. We all have our frames of reference. We all have our experiences. We all have our perception. We cannot control what other people thinkj, feel or do.. all we can do is control how much we are going to let what others do effect us or choose what we are going to be offended by. If you're looking to find homophobia or to be offended 9 times out of 10 you will find it when you look hard enough and read into things too much. Same with everything if you look hard enough and already believe it with all your heart you will start seeing it even when it isn't really there. and start projecting your own feelings and insecurities onto a situation.
I wish more men would hug. No matter whether gay or straight. Sometimes just want a hug from another man.

Men are normal to hug each other. It doesn’t matter if anyone is straight and gay people to hug each other as well. Women are usually kiss on cheek to cheek but sometimes handshake. Men are usually get handshake but sometimes kiss on cheek to cheek if straight men don’t mind at all.

Platonic love between men whether straight, gay, or othereise is completely appropriate and not gay. Being gay has everything to do with sexual attraction to or engagement with individuals of the same sex/gender. The fact that phyical contact that may be engaged in between gay couples may be similar to the same kinds of contact between plaronic same sex individual might be misinterpreted is unfortunate within our culture becauae it mean straight men are deprived of contact which promotes health and well being of the individual receiving this contact. The problem for gays is that having said the above, they might abuse the facts of health and well being for personal gratifications which leads back to the initial issue and to the promotion of toxic masculinity among straights.
