  • I had a lot of fun casting some Transformers logos this go around. They were pretty small and I'm not the best at sand casting, but they came out pretty good. I think I enjoyed the music the most on this one, maybe even more than the video. It's a nice cover of the 1986 The Transformers: The Movie, and I love how it turned out. I hope you all enjoy watching this episode as much as I did making it!

    I hope you guys enjoy this episode, it was pretty fun making some transformers logos, and even more fun with the custom jam for this one. If anyone remembers The Transformers: The Movie from 1986, it’s a nice little cover from the main song. My brother makes new custom intro songs for each video and he did an awesome job on this one. Enjoy!

      Next time you 3d print something flat like those logos, enable "Ironing" or "Iron top layer" in your slicer settings and maybe it would give you a cleaner surface on the top of your positives so sand doesn't get caught in those layer lines.

      Never told you I used to DJ remotely for some radio stations.. mainly did underground and indie artists.. If I ever get back into it I'll send ya a release form to give your bro and he can send me any songs he wishes played of his. Even if he just wishes to have fun only and be heard.. Trust me I have been thinking of it again.. but it can be super stressful... perhaps I'll do online radio instead..But if he is serious about his music let me know.. I do have some contacts in the music biz that are legit and I'm not name dropping... but great video and not often I ever comment in two places on any video.. but you and your brother rock !!!! \m/

      Thanks Big V! I always want them to turn out flawless, but the battle worn look kind of makes me happy they didn’t. It’s definitely a love love relationship 👍

      No, thank you!
      Have you ever try the floor mosaic? Using a large flat pour of something like the clock and flat ingots.
      I just had another idea of trying to resin pour of slag pieces or a water pour to get those nice little pieces. A cube, rectangle or get froggy and go for a rod pour.
      I have zero idea how that would turn out depending on how clear the resin and how the metal settled in and see through it. Idk just a random thought.
      Possible to create pockets of void like a ball or theater. Could give another look of like being inside the material itself. Maybe that's too artsy fartsy of a description.

  • @thunderbasilisk1352
    @thunderbasilisk1352 Год назад +3

    I mean for first attempts they came out damn near perfect. And considering Zinc is one of the better metals to use for casts of this size and get all the details this is probably the best you will get. Though dinner plate size versions would be a cool future project. Maybe from Copper? Doing the logo of the other factions like Dinobots and Predacons would be interesting to.

  • @KrakenCasting
    @KrakenCasting Год назад +2

    Not bad! I think you might get better results with bigger flasks or smaller prints. As close as they fit, you're going to have a hard time getting a tight pack around the edges, and that's where your porosity came from. All in all though, nice work!

    • @TheGrowingStack
      @TheGrowingStack  Год назад

      Thanks Kraken! I think you’re right, I was trying to get away with using those smaller flasks with the smaller prints to save time on the sand work, but it probably ended up costing me in the results department.

    How's it going my friend?? They turned out good... just think of it as they are old and aged and had a rough life as an emblem.. Yeah almost reminded me of brass when the zinc was overheated.. the smoke and the yellowing.. but hey any pour is better than no pour !!! We live and we learn.. is how come you are getting so good now.. all the not so perfect results... Be well and thank you for all the content !!! Still would love to see a logo sand casted in the future if you ever feel like it... like what we talked about once .. but dude ya got it.. now ya perfecting it !! I'll have to hit ya up on tips when I pull the trigger on it and get the stuff to do it.. I am in serious need of a hobby and something to help keep things calm in my world.. and this helps tons watching you do pours and such. Be well and stay safe and start using gloves more often LOL you may have ten fingers but honestly things get weird when ya lose use of one.... Sorry the OSHA and company safety man kicking in even if I am retired from all that. LOL much love to you and yours and much respect . Today was a great day !!!
