Hi, I'm an old man, and 32 years ago I had an intruder 800cc, now 32 years later I bought an Honda Shadow 750, I'm in love again... And ty, great video, you're great too From Costa Rica: pura vida hermano! Sorry for my bad english
@@27BILLY99 yeah that's my point, everywhere else in the world it's considered a pretty large bike. Only Americans would characterized it an entry level motorcycle.
Just picked up a 2008 in 2024 only has 15k miles on in new exhaust mini apes solid bags and it’s my first bike and I’m having a damn blast man if anyone sees this and you’re thinking about getting a bike GET ONE
My in law just dropped one in my lap because he didn’t have the time, I’ve never ridden a bike before and she needs a little bit of work as she hasn’t been started in about a year. I’m ridiculously excited to get it up and running and start learning under some seasoned tutelage
Do you think a 750 would bd good for a beginner? Im 230 lbs and id im not trying to go fast, i just want something that i can possibly take on the highway and not worry about it
Logan Enlow yes it should be fine, they ride nice very little shake. I’m 200 lb and I’m good on it, rides nice even with my wife on the back, and I did a lot of highway miles going to work on it
I've owned lots of cruisers, like yourself. Ridden plenty more. Indians, Harley's, Honda's, Suzuki's, Kawasakis. The 750 shadow is the absolute epitome of a cruiser I think. Something about it, it's just right.
Purchased an 07 honda shadow spirit 750 with 18k for 2400 dollars with new tires and exhaust. Cant wait to get it out of the parking lot and on the road. I hope it's my last cruiser.
@@ApexAZnn My shadow is treating me well. Oil and filter change, gear oil, new turn signal bulb and she is running great. I've put 700 miles on it and after putting the suspension to 1 below max it handles great for me 6'1 215
@Balkan Boy plenty of torque and easy for city driving. 4th gear at 50 mph is the sweet spot on this bike but with me 6foot1 210 it tops out at 102. Wet weight is 540ish but has plenty of lean angle before scraping peg and the models with the smaller front tire have easier slow speed maneuverability. My bike has the 21 but can drag a little rear brake and help at low speeds.
I have a hard tail 06 750 spirit, it sounds awesome straight piped. Even Harley guys compliment it. It was my first bike, I'm a smaller guy at 5'4 145lbs, so I don't think I'll ever need a bigger bike.
Hello family ! I am 53, a 20 year re-entry rider after owning over half a dozen street bikes all inspired by MAD MAX, and Honda Interceptors. I was in my 20's then, and now in my 50's I have arthritis in my left knee. It's bone on bone and I was dreaming of owning a Vulcan 900, but it was too big for me at a stop light. The Honda Shadow Spirit 750 is low. I am 6' tall and it feels SO comfortable. I just bought one YESTERDAY ! Yes ! Yesterday for the first time in over 20 years. I got as far as my driveway and chickened out. I need a riding partner for my re-maiden voyage. I feel so much conflict, yet it felt SO natural. I'm just afraid of stop lights, although the previous owners had the entire church pray for me.
I just picked up a 2004 Honda Shadow 750 this week for $650! Just a little over 3,000 miles on the bike and everything on this bike is factory. Previous owner left it sitting for 10 years. This week I took the bike on a four-hour ride and it ran like a champ!!! Well worth the money.
The Shadow my third bike and my first new bike I bought. I have traveled between Victoria, BC to Edmonton, Alberta (X3), and all over Washington State, USA numerous times. It does have plenty of power and handles HIGHWAYs and backroads, takes the counters with ease.
Rad. Vancouver Island here! Buying my first 750 2006 Shadow Aero. I'm much more a cafe racer or rebel guy, but I LOVE the Aero. Pick it up this week! Woot!
The national speed limit was also 55 mph lol. I agree that people underestimate smaller displacement bikes, But lets be honest a 500cc v-twin will not be able to reach the 80mph speed limits we have now days. However 750cc and up is more than enough for normal size people.
@Nightingale The funniest part about people who are dropping like 30grand on their 30grand motorcycles like that is that the v-rod i paid 5000 for would smoke them lol, or some guy on his stock ninja 650. Motorcycles were never about speed in the first place, imo (not cruisers, that is). At least not for me. I like bikes I feel good on, and after all the bikes I've ridden, a Shadow 750 is still my favorite. It's light and easy, will last forever, very modifiable, can eat highway miles and basically uses no gas at all and you can get a brand new one for less than 8000 bucks lol.
I know this is old video, but was very helpful in confirming my decision on this bike. Grew up on bikes, road one everywhere, day or night, nice or raining weather. Had a bad accident that pit me in crutches for almost 2 years. 20 + years later went to get back on. Did not want to be "wanting" more, but do not want a tank either. The shadow seemed to fit my wants, (no more sport bikes too) never really been a cruiser guy so was unsure if a 750 cruiser. 750 sport bikes had good power to size but no experience with cruisers in this size. And always been a Honda fan, though have owned all four Japanese makes. Hey, I'm half Japanese, what can I say. But am all American beef. Though I have given the Harley sport 750 a look, and suzuki boulevard c50, but shadow I think wins out. Thank you much. I did buy a couple dirt bikes when I healed, so I have been on bikes since, did have a gs500 but was too small. But now its 20+ years later still want more then a 500 but not to much either.
We lost our home and everything in it in that storm. The God we serve came through in epic fashion. Today we have 3 homes. Your worst day can easily be the start of your best day. God Is Good. All the time.
I've owned 10 bikes in the last 17 years. My VT750 Aero was a great bike. Sure it's not blazing fast, not the most torque. But it is nigh bullet proof, it's fun, unassumimg and surprisingly good through twisty stuff (did scrape a lot lol) they are a much under rated bike.
I'm the one that bought this bike got to ride it the other day and I'm happy with it nice bike. would I buy a nother one from SRK if they had one I was interested YES I would. everything went gust Like they said it would. thank you!
I totally agree. I just sold my Honda Shadow Ace 750 and upgraded to a VTX 1800 C. I rode the shadow for 4 years and loved it. I must admit though after a while it does start to feel underpowered. The best mod I did to my shadow is switch down to a 38 tooth sprocket and did the four degree mod. The problem with the shadow is that after about 5500 RPMs the Power Band drops Like a Stone. I used to have trouble keeping up with my buddies who mostly ride 1500s. After I got my VTX my body's only see my tail lights haha
I agree about being under powered but luckily I don't ride that much to care. Not that I wouldn't jump on getting a shadow with more power. Still a great running bike.
The irony is that "little" 750 Shadow might have comparable power to weight to a lot of the twin cam Harleys given how much lighter it is. Also a great sounding motor, those 750 Shadows are great bikes, plenty of power but manageable enough for a new rider and absolutely rock solid reliable and cheap to maintain.
Here I am 7 years after this video, with 2 hurricanes, potentially 3. Had to check that this video wasn’t recent with you talking about the 2 hurricanes 7 years ago.
i know Im randomly asking but does someone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Trevor Ares I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Just got a 2009 shadow 750 spirit. The guy that owned it before me had the tank stretched, put on cobra pipes, k&n filter, and jetted the carbs. Oh and a brand new beautiful black paint job and lowered the bike, 7k miles $2,400.
I got a steal on one. Some dude on Craig's list having a baby sold me his 2007 Honda shadow spirit... Badass black color, long shot Cobra pipes, tons of chrome, low miles. Never had a problem and can cruise at 80 and still have power with someone on the back no problem. I don't know why anyone would think this is a bad bike for anyone.
@whywhy7299 he probably got it for less than 1500 is my guess. I'm checking out an 08' vt750 with about 5k miles for 950 bucks. Been in an accident but only has a slightly off center fork, bent handle bar, and broken headlight. Still pretty good for 950 bucks tho. That stuff I'm sure is easy to fix up
My first bike was a 2006 Aero. Looked just like this but with Vance and Hines Short Shots. Had it for 7 years and did nothing but tires and oil changes. Fantastic ride
My first time ever riding was on a 03 Honda VTX 1800 I felt like a time traveled every time I would give that thing full throttle,I was thinking of picking up a Honda shadow 750 I just like them.
I own a 2008 Honda Shadow Aero 750, with 70,000 Km on the clock (43,500 miles) and it has been a great joy to own. Oil and filter changes, final drive oil changes, 4 sets of tires, and one headlight bulb: that is the extent of repairs and maintenance on this bike at this point. It happens to be for sale, because I switched to a Honda CTX700 with fairing. Now I'm curious how that CTX will fare in the next couple of years. I don't think it will beat the Shadow. If you own one, look after it. These bikes are plentiful, but most are treated poorly. Could be a classic in another 20 years.
@@27BILLY99me too. I'm looking at picking up an 08' tomorrow as my first bike and we'll see how it goes. Never rode a motorcycle so there'll be lots to learn
You just made my day. You are the first youtuber I've seen starts with a Bible verse. I have a 2013 model of the bike.Thank you. From Sydney, Australia.
I live in Houston, Texas and Harvey did quite a lot of damage, mostly flooding. And I don't think a motorcycle would have helped us out, especially when most of the roads got flooded. I do enjoy watching your vids and just be careful.
Interesting..... I own a VFR1200f (bombed) and once went on holiday to Thailand and hired various big bikes from Patong big bike hire...... Guess what? My favourite was the Vee twin Honda 750. Not my usual cup of tea but I loved it? Not sure why but it was nice.
I used to have a 98 750 ACE. Absolutely loved the bike. And even though they have plenty of power for their intended purpose, the older chain drive twin carb models have plenty of room for more power. With modding the intake, a free flowing exhaust, rejetting the carbs, and a dyna 3000 ignition, I had boosted power to where I the bike would be pulling hard all the way to where I was bouncing off the new rev limit (7k) at 127 mph. I wish I had kept her, and spent some coin on new cams and higher compression pistons. Awesome bikes! I love them.
My dad had this same bike with dam near the same set up. He always had big touring bikes my whole life but as he got older this was perfect for him. He missed the passing power for highway 70mph+ but would always say if you just wanna get out and cruise around (that was 2-4 hours of driving around the state to him) its all you need.
Dry it out take out all four spark plugs and spin it up give it new oil and air cleaner element, plugs and fire it up I would be willing to say your swimmer is still a great bike .
My wife has a '08 honda shadow 750 spirit and I find that at highway speeds, the floorboards are buzzy as well as the handlebar. Overall it's a nice bike
I have a 2002 Honda Shadow spirit. It has 80,000 miles. Only expense is tires, oil changes and air filter. I redline it all the time. It has been rejetted and is pretty quick. They are tough motorcycles . The only thing I recommend is a Ragina racing chain and sprockets....
I just bought a 2003 spirit with the purple flames Vance and hines lots after market chrome. I love it and I use to own a 2005 1200 custom sporty and I like this more..
I was looking for a nice cruiser project, ideally an 1100. I got a Shadow 750 for cheap that didn't need much. Haven't looked back since, that was 5 years ago now.
I had a 89 Shadow 1100 and hated to sell it abot 10 years ago, looking to replacement and keep seeing the 750s tease me. I dont see why they ar $1000 cheaper than the 1100s. I am pushing 60 and dont need the speed.
Got an 07 vT750 C Aero a week ago at a local motorcycle dealership here in my town. Got it at a special price and I am absolutely in love with this cruiser. Took it out for a quick freeway ride and it runs fast and it’s super comfortable ride!
I just traded in my '01 750 for a 1300 VTX and there is no big deal. I mean the VTX is a more comfortable cruiser with more power and weight to hold the rod better and it rides smoother. But the 750 was a fun bike to ride and I do miss it, but I can't have three bikes in my shop (also own an VT1100 shadow) The 750 is great bike and I'd ride it across the country with no problem.
Yep I love my 06 shadow it's a typical Honda and does everything well it's not the fastest bike out there but quite happily sits there at 70-75 all day long
It’s a great bike for any skill rider. I’ve been riding longer than most and have a Bandit 1200 for fast fun and a Shadow 750 to poke around on and take it easy. You can use it for a bar hopper or what I would call a short trip cruiser. Trips of a 1,000 miles or less. You go go cross country easy on it but it wouldn’t be as nice Tom up as a big Tour bike. Just a great do anything kinda cruiser
I got my 2012 Phantom up to 100mph on the highway the other day with 400lbs of flesh on the back. The 750 is more than enough for anyone who wants a reliable bike for riding instead of flash.
I have a 1998 shadow ace with 13k miles. It's basically a family heirloom at this point. It just recently became mine and I'm so excited to finally take it out. Just got my license.
This is the Bike I’d have if I could ride. (I’m Visually Impaired) It Looks like I think a Motorcycle should look. Honda’s are Said to be very reliable & you & others have said that it’s a good starter bike. GOD Bless You.
Listen to this kind gentleman everyone. Never take for granted what God has blessed you with. You are not promised anything in this life. Always be greatful and praise Jesus Christ!
You really need something smaller than a 750 to learn on. My first was a 100 Suzuki next was a 400. Next was a 1100 Yamaha which was too top heavy for me. Next a 750 magma that was perfect. Now I have a 750 Honda shadow spirit
Had a 2001 A.C.E. model. Put 50,000 miles on it. Lots of good times. Great for the back roads. I prefer a bigger bike for the slab; always felt these bikes could use another gear on top.
I rode one of these many times on the highway (70 mph) without a windshield for about 6 to 8 hours and the body fatigue from sitting up in constant wind was ridiculous! Nothing manly about feeling dog-tired while riding 75 mph!. Got a Memphis Shades full windshield, and it makes a huge improvement on highway rides. Plus it blocks the 1,000 bugs that wanted to splat my face and jacket. I like this guy's video but his advice about windshields is way off. If you get the right height and angle, a windshield makes highway rides so easy. On this bike, the right height is top of windshield even with the tip of your nose. The right angle on this bike is when windshield follows the angle of the forks perfectly, like a linear extension of the forks if you step off and look from either side. Most everything else he said, I agree with. Other good upgrade: mini floorboards instead of stock footpegs. The stock handlebars vibrated along with high engine RPM's at highway speed, so I got heavier handlebars.
right guy doesnt ride enough to take his advice on anything, windsheilds i used to and still think their ugly, but now that ive riden behind one,, i wont fly any other way not for long hauls at least, and anyone who says you dont need a 1500 for cruiser smh its better to have and not need than need and not have, and Cruiser implies (CRUISING) so you get 350lbs of gear on a 750cc shit with your lady riding backburner you aint hardly passing road signs,
I fixed up a like new condition 02 Honda Shadow VT750. Rebuilt the carb cuz it sat for two years. Owner couldn't fix it. Figured out what was wrong and $400 later I have what looks like a new bike. Of course I rep laced the tires and some other bits to be on the safe side but mostly just took a carb rebuild and only that was the jets and some float needles. Runs perfect. It sounds way meatier that the one in your video. Perhaps they did something to the exhaust or may yours is fuel injected. Not sure. But I get a good amount of power for passing and easily hit it's speed limit of 100mph. They are good, fun entry bikes and easy to manage. You can modify them a bit for storage or whatever. Super easy to work on.
Its chain driven but the VIN number and parts all match the 2002 Shadow spirit VT750DC. However there are so many slight variations i guess it doesn't matter too much for 80% of the parts. I also suspect the baffles were removed by previous owner as you can look straight down the pipes and see the weird coily stuff on the sides.
Bought a used 2019 Shadow Aero with just over 8k miles. Only put about 250 miles on it so far, but it's been correcting me of some of my "new rider" mistakes and habits pretty quickly.
I've got bad back, needing surgery. I've had 2 knee surgeries, will need 2 total knee replacements possibly later this year. I've had 14 bikes, everything from sport bikes to full dressers. I've gotta say for me, at this stage in life and with my issues, the 750 shadow is a great fit, still. Had an '02 with mini apes on it, cobra long shots, jet kit and that bike was a beast! Yea, I would like a bigger bike 1100-1300 cc preferably but really, daily driving and the occasional carrying a passenger where I live, this bike just works.
I have 1998 VT750 ACE, back then they were still chain drive, only the 1100 had shaft, five speed transmission, and they had mechanical lifters so you had to adjust the valve clearance every couple thousand miles. It carried me and my late wife no problem, and we were not exactly svelte, lol. Between the two of us we were pretty much at the recommended max capacity. Hasn't left the shed since I got the road king. One of the things I miss most is the speedometer was on the bars, much easier to see. Going to get it running again and give it to my son for his first street bike.
Was seeing a harly Davidson bikes and saw that it makes your legs numbs due to a it vibrating and rumbling does this do that, also i am a new to bikes looking for my first
Do you have any reviews on the shadow 600s? I’m curious if I’ll fit on one I can’t find any locally or I’d go sit on it I’m 6’2” as well !! Trying to find out before I drive 2-3 hours away to look at one
My first brand new bike I bought was the shadow ace 750 97 or 98 it was brand new I've owned many cruisers currently a vtx 1800 but that shadow was sweet wished I kept for short rides around town and stuff like that great motorcycle I'm heavy guy not real tall but it was big enough for highway cruising plenty of go power
Ditto! 1998 shadow. Customized. Im 250 and it was plenty for me. I own a indian scout to continue the style and i love it but i miss my shadow too and rode it till 2016..
I bought a Vulcan 800 road it for a year then a 1500 nomad then traded it for another brand new bike in 2000 Yamaha 1600 roadstar now I own the vtx 1800 i still loved every bike I had
I just found a 2003 Shadow for a you Younger friend , his first motorcycle. He got it for $2,000. It wasn't running very good when he bought it. After cleaning the rust out of the fuel tank and carburetors, plus putting the top of the air box to the carburetors. It now runs like new. Kinda is new due to the 724 miles on it.
Wow, I just found this video. You ask how can a motorcycle help in Houston, TX? I had to give up my bike in 2017 because of my wife's illness. She subsequently passed in August 2017, and then we had the Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey about a month later. I'm still getting back on my feet and will be OK, but I miss riding a motorcycle. If I had a motorcycle right now, it would help in ways you can't begin to imagine.
Lol. The windshield is a good option especially in Texas hillcountry. Your going 85mph and a grasshopper or a giant cockroach hits you, your going to feel it. Especially if its in the throat. If you get the right type of windshield and test it out and angle it right to limit the buffing, you shouldn't get that problem. Plus 90% less bug protein in your face and helmet. My head sticks up too but if its a bug day, i hunker down a bit to eliminate that on my VT750DC.
The 98-00 VT1100 Shadow Aero was the years that were super cool. They had the single pin crank, beach bars, wide whites, two tone paint, and the speedo in the headlight. I have one and it's never going anywhere.
I have the 125 cc version ---honda shadow vt 125---. There is the lack of power as with all 125 s (its 15 hrsprs). But it is just so precise. No false neutrals. No inbetween gears. Light clutch. Good breaks. Light levers . It will reach 60 mph/100km per hour on more or less flat ground(a little bit of incline isnt a problem) and it can maintain 80 kilometers per hour on any incline. They are reliable and dependable . Just the other day i went on around 400 kilometers trip. (1 mile is about 1. 6 km i think)
I have a 2015 harley street bob. Rode it 3.5 hours to a rally this summer with my girlfriend following me in the truck with her 2002 honda shadow 600 vlx. Well my harley died on me 5 miles into the way back home and i had to put it in the trailer and ride the girlfriend's shadow back. What a nice ride. Bike was awesome. Comfortable, just enough power to keep up with traffic, smooth, just all around a great purchase. Glad she bought it and id ride it anytime.
Making a video helps many people that like to see them, like me. Maybe you brought comfort and distraction to someone suffering from the effects of that hurricane.
I know this is from a while ago, but where did you get your Highway Bars (Engine Bars?)? I've been dying to get a set for a reasonable price for my Shadow Aero...any ideas?
I'm deciding between this or the Yamaha dragstar 650 for my A2 license. I think the Honda shadow 750 is better. But I prefer the look of the dragstar 650.
1:16 to 1:21 I disagree that it is a great bike for a beginner. Two main reasons = 1. Heavy. At 530 something pounds versus 230 to 373 pounds for most of the actual beginner bikes, this shadow will be much more difficult to master maneuvering and of course harder to lift back up from when the noob inevitably drops or low sides the bike. 2. Bulkier- how often do you see noobs at the endorsement test on a damn Honda Goldwin g, Harley, or Yamaha or even the Kawasaki concourse trying to pass the driving part of that test if they know there is a slalom course to navigate? Very rarely. So sorry again I couldn't disagree more. Most start out within a range of a 125cc to maybe a 400cc class bike(from to ninja 400 2018 for examples). Even a cbr500 class with a 471cc and weight if barely over 420 pounds with its reasonable size would be wiser to learn on
tpcs Hello Friend. 2005 Honda shadow aero 750 was my first bike. I'm 5'5 170lbs. Got this bike when was 19 without prior experience, this bike was was absolutely perfect. It was not too heavy, and easily manageable.
Jay Lara very cool. Congrats ,sincerely, but not every acclimates to a heavier motorcycle as fast as you possibly did. Now having said that, I do respect the opinion of those claiming not to stay on the interstate highway, speeds of 65 mph or more, for very long in a 250cc or smaller engine sized motorcycle. Safe journeys to ya.
tpcs I'm a new Rider well 2 years now and I love my Honda 750 Shadow Spirit and I am a 5'5'' woman. A smaller bike would be scary on the highway! As far as picking up a bike if you know what your doing it's no big deal if you know how to do it properly.
Mamie Ivey yes, but my points still make sense. All good vibes meant though. I disagree about a bike lighter than 500 pounds being scarier to operate on the interstate highway. I ride my 365 pound Rebel 300 every day to work in the interstate doing 60 mph and I'm just fine. It's all about the beginner taking reasonable baby steps in terms of speeds. I started only riding in my neighborhood for two weeks straight every day. Then I tip toed in a frontage road -35mph speed limit there. Next got my endorsement and road some on my highway -not interstate mind you-45mph and 50 mph road. Now I'm comfy at 70mph on the interstate after a little under two months of owning the bike. I'll admit though, I can respect why some say a 286cc might not be powerful enough for them if fast acceleration is a priority, but I Knew that going into that purchase. I might move up to a Ninja 400 towards the end of the year and trade my rebel 300 in and pay cash. (Shrugs)
I started on a 2003 Honda Shadow ace. Spent a good while in a parking lot feeling the clutch and getting used to turning. I had no problems when I transitioned to the road. Driving test was a breeze.
I have a Shadow Aero 750, 2009, 22.3.K, 50 mpg avg, and recently was thinking of selling. Here is my list of additions: "A picture is worth a thousand words: Drive Shaft (NOT Chain), Fairing with no cracks, Valves balanced and tune up 2019, steel side covers (not plastic), leather locking saddle bags with key, luggage rack, sissy backrest, driver backrest, engine guards, Hondaline light bar and highway lights with on/off switch, wide rear view mirrors, rear tire 2015, front tire with excellent tread, new battery (2020). After watching all the videos comparing Rebel 300, 500, and looking at bikes by other companies inbetween and of different sizes, none of them is as great as the Aero. Did you know that you can get a driver back rest? So does the faring- keeps 90 of the bugs kissing me... ;) I have one and it makes a big difference on those long runs and all those bumps... It is fast, cool as a cucumber, packed with accessories. Thank you for the video... MD
I bought my wife a 750 Shadow I've owned them before just like the one he's riding I took it out for a test ride had it cruising at 90 they're great bikes
Kinda reminds me of the 750 Norton Atlas n the Royal Enfield Intersepter but my question is how does a Honda 750 compare with power to a 900 or 1100 for that matter??
I'm looking at mid-size cruisers that can do 80 without buzzing or feeling too wound out. My Honda NC700X does it but it's too tall since I installed a comfortable seat. This might be the one.
I have a 2009 Aero...except mine's black with snakeskin flames on it...2009 was the only year Honda offered that paint job, & only on the Aero...& it's a rare bird too...I've toured it through 10 different states & have yet to see another one like it in person...seen a few pics of others online, but not many even then...never could get an exact production number, as Honda only keeps up with the number of bikes produced, but not the numbers for specific paint schemes...I'm currently murdering it out...looking sweet...🖖🏿😎👍🏿
I have an 05 thats straight piped. Whenever I'm on the highway it idles pretty high at 70 mph... is that bad or is it probably just loud because its straight piped?
I just bought a Shadow 1100. It's a nice ride. Besides the additional power, it's got that throatier sound I like. I didn't think they put shaft drives on smaller bikes because of the loss. It losses something like 20% of its power from the engine to the wheel, from what I've heard.
Hi, I'm an old man, and 32 years ago I had an intruder 800cc, now 32 years later I bought an Honda Shadow 750, I'm in love again... And ty, great video, you're great too

@@27BILLY99 yeah that's my point, everywhere else in the world it's considered a pretty large bike. Only Americans would characterized it an entry level motorcycle.

Have a 2004 with 60K and other than oil change and tires I've spent nothing on the bike, so dependable!
gtags1 same here I only have 6,000 miles nothing but tires and oil service is it
Do you do all the upkeeping maintenance yourself
vkhiev I do
Do you think a 750 would bd good for a beginner?
@@FuelHauler48 Hows the shadow treating you ? Do you like it ? I'm looking into getting one that's why I'm asking.
@@ApexAZnn My shadow is treating me well. Oil and filter change, gear oil, new turn signal bulb and she is running great. I've put 700 miles on it and after putting the suspension to 1 below max it handles great for me 6'1 215
@Balkan Boy the shadow can handle like the dirtbike of cruisers. Easiest handling in the city but crusier look.
Anything you had to change or fix up?
The Shadow my third bike and my first new bike I bought. I have traveled between Victoria, BC to Edmonton, Alberta (X3), and all over Washington State, USA numerous times. It does have plenty of power and handles HIGHWAYs and backroads, takes the counters with ease.
Rad. Vancouver Island here!
Buying my first 750 2006 Shadow Aero. I'm much more a cafe racer or rebel guy, but I LOVE the Aero. Pick it up this week!
Woot!
Once upon a time, 750 was big. 500 was enough.
Yea and an 1100 was considered a heavyweight.
The national speed limit was also 55 mph lol. I agree that people underestimate smaller displacement bikes, But lets be honest a 500cc v-twin will not be able to reach the 80mph speed limits we have now days. However 750cc and up is more than enough for normal size people.
In most the world 750 is still big. But most the world does not have the long roads with 75mph limits like we do. Or fat people like we do.
@@nbookie 😂😂😂 fatties were very rare in the 1970's.
The kwakka 9 was a rocket ship. Peace from Australia 🐨🌴👍
I just got a 2007 shadow 750 today and and I love it. Has all the power I need.
I inherited a 2003 Shadow 750, my first bike and I'm probably the 4th owner. It's got some problems due to neglect/abuse but I love it.
I have an 07 dc I'm 6'2" little cramped for me but I'm going to add forward controls other than that it's great
I have an ‘03 and it’s a great bike
I’m 6’4” forward controls and highway pegs make it awesome, drag pipes help even more, I love my 06 in black
I just stepped up from a ‘06 Rebel 250 to a ‘00 Shadow 750 ACE & I love it!
I did jets, k and n, power commander, and 38 sprocket on my 98 shadow. Dynoed it from 65hp to 80hp. Miss my mid sized baby.
@@JimmyMelgoza ...I call bull shit.
@@dalehumphrey2477 Hater
I agree about being under powered but luckily I don't ride that much to care. Not that I wouldn't jump on getting a shadow with more power.
Still a great running bike.
So just to be clear everybody is fine correct?
The irony is that "little" 750 Shadow might have comparable power to weight to a lot of the twin cam Harleys given how much lighter it is. Also a great sounding motor, those 750 Shadows are great bikes, plenty of power but manageable enough for a new rider and absolutely rock solid reliable and cheap to maintain.
For real. The 88ci. Harley engines can't even keep with my v star 650. And the 96 just barely outruns me.
Dj Gilbert i think you need to understand that both riders need to be aware that it's a race.

Just got a 2009 shadow 750 spirit. The guy that owned it before me had the tank stretched, put on cobra pipes, k&n filter, and jetted the carbs. Oh and a brand new beautiful black paint job and lowered the bike, 7k miles $2,400.
I have a 2006. Great all around bike. My daughter loves our rides. Runs like a champ.
Just got a 2000 shadow spirit 1100 for $1800. Excellent shape. And it’s my first bike! Absolutely love it
I have a 01 shadow spirit and love it
I got a steal on one.
Man you can't say it was a steal and not say the price!
Sad that he'll regret selling because of kids. I'm a daily rider and I have my kids. His loss your gain
What is low miles ?
@whywhy7299 he probably got it for less than 1500 is my guess. I'm checking out an 08' vt750 with about 5k miles for 950 bucks. Been in an accident but only has a slightly off center fork, bent handle bar, and broken headlight. Still pretty good for 950 bucks tho. That stuff I'm sure is easy to fix up
My first bike was a 2006 Aero. Looked just like this but with Vance and Hines Short Shots. Had it for 7 years and did nothing but tires and oil changes. Fantastic ride
Most people are talking about power... I Own a 1990 Shadow 1100, No one man should have all that power (30 years ago).
Could be a classic in another 20 years.
just got the same bike ! 3k miles and garage kept. never owned or rode a bike before so this is all new for me, got lots and lots to learn

Same here.
You hit 127 on a shadow ace?!
@jacoblemus1334 yes

Yep I love my 06 shadow it's a typical Honda and does everything well it's not the fastest bike out there but quite happily sits there at 70-75 all day long
Damn Sean, you sounded pretty eager to have a big man straddle you on the back of the bike. Something you wanna come out of?
It’s a great bike for any skill rider. I’ve been riding longer than most and have a Bandit 1200 for fast fun and a Shadow 750 to poke around on and take it easy. You can use it for a bar hopper or what I would call a short trip cruiser. Trips of a 1,000 miles or less. You go go cross country easy on it but it wouldn’t be as nice Tom up as a big Tour bike. Just a great do anything kinda cruiser
Just got an 04 are, lm loving it so far.

Got my 09 shadow 750 a month ago. First bike. Love it. 🤘
A 750 is all you need for a nice highway bike. Back in my day used to have an R-75/5 and it did just fine on the highway.

What’s happened in the bike world. 750 cc Is a big bike, especially with your speed limits. It must be more than adequate.
may I ask about your saddlebags? did tehy came with the bike or where did u get them? are those viking brand ? thanks in advance.
I have had US Saddlebags (made in Mass and you can actually talk to the owner) on my bike since 2006. They still look great.
Yeah. I have a wittle bitty windshield. Normally not a problem but windy days make me work a bit harder. Can be crazy. 🤪
right guy doesnt ride enough to take his advice on anything, windsheilds i used to and still think their ugly, but now that ive riden behind one,, i wont fly any other way not for long hauls at least, and anyone who says you dont need a 1500 for cruiser smh its better to have and not need than need and not have, and Cruiser implies (CRUISING) so you get 350lbs of gear on a 750cc shit with your lady riding backburner you aint hardly passing road signs,
I fixed up a like new condition 02 Honda Shadow VT750.
Chris B Chain Drive? Perhaps you have a Shadow ACE. That bikes is similar to the Aero, but better in differences in my opinion.

Do y’all recommend this for a beginner ?
I have 1998 VT750 ACE, back then they were still chain drive, only the 1100 had shaft, five speed transmission, and they had mechanical lifters so you had to adjust the valve clearance every couple thousand miles. It carried me and my late wife no problem, and we were not exactly svelte, lol. Between the two of us we were pretty much at the recommended max capacity. Hasn't left the shed since I got the road king. One of the things I miss most is the speedometer was on the bars, much easier to see. Going to get it running again and give it to my son for his first street bike.

I just found a 2003 Shadow for a you
Younger friend , his first motorcycle.
Both are great .
Is Shadow OK for riding local and in and around town ?
yes
1:16 to 1:21 I disagree that it is a great bike for a beginner. Two main reasons = 1. Heavy. At 530 something pounds versus 230 to 373 pounds for most of the actual beginner bikes, this shadow will be much more difficult to master maneuvering and of course harder to lift back up from when the noob inevitably drops or low sides the bike. 2. Bulkier- how often do you see noobs at the endorsement test on a damn Honda Goldwin
g, Harley, or Yamaha or even the Kawasaki concourse trying to pass the driving part of that test if they know there is a slalom course to navigate? Very rarely. So sorry again I couldn't disagree more. Most start out within a range of a 125cc to maybe a 400cc class bike(from to ninja 400 2018 for examples). Even a cbr500 class with a 471cc and weight if barely over 420 pounds with its reasonable size would be wiser to learn on

Hello Friend.
Here is my list of additions:
"A picture is worth a thousand words: Drive Shaft (NOT Chain), Fairing with no cracks, Valves balanced and tune up 2019, steel side covers (not plastic), leather locking saddle bags with key, luggage rack, sissy backrest, driver backrest, engine guards, Hondaline light bar and highway lights with on/off switch, wide rear view mirrors, rear tire 2015, front tire with excellent tread, new battery (2020).
Would you prefer the 1100 over the 750? I’ve heard great things about both, but it would be my first bike
Aww, your video ended like the episodes from The Sopranos
Kinda reminds me of the 750 Norton Atlas n the Royal Enfield Intersepter but my question is how does a Honda 750 compare with power to a 900 or 1100 for that matter??
I love HD and Honda. Both make awsome stuff
HD only takes premium gas, expensive these days.
+1 on the anti windshield. I'm too tall for them and I just get a lot of turbulence that shakes my head around. Without them is smooth.
I’m a 5’7 man I weigh 160- 170 , I’m a cyclist.
You think a 750 and higher is a good starter bike for me ?
Just snatched an 09 750 spirit F with 14k and boy I’m in love, such a beautiful bike and a dream to ride
I have an 05 thats straight piped. Whenever I'm on the highway it idles pretty high at 70 mph... is that bad or is it probably just loud because its straight piped?
I just bought a Honda shadow 600vt and I love mine this bike looks great too!
Michael Faulkner watch that duel carb lol
I just bought a Shadow 1100. It's a nice ride. Besides the additional power, it's got that throatier sound I like. I didn't think they put shaft drives on smaller bikes because of the loss. It losses something like 20% of its power from the engine to the wheel, from what I've heard.
My 1998 750 ACE was chain drive.
Can you explain the difference on handle bars between the Aero and Phantom? God bless
