I really appreciate your review. A number of years ago I was a big New Balance fan. But,,,,,, I was buying top of the line models and they were just not holding up in terms of wear and at the 6 or 7 month point were showing some signs of wear not appropriate for the price. Full year point they were basically shot. I am glad the 990's are much better. Finally the quality is returning. I am going to shop for some today. Peace my friend.

Definitely gonna be snagging me a pair for work because soft midsole's aren't working to great for 10hr shifts on my feet. Plus these look a million times better than the V6 that's gonna drop. May have to get a 2nd pair afterwards to keep back for when the first wears out.
That’s the thing with the soft midsoles, I feel like they bottom out quickly the more you wear it and don’t retain that same level of comfort as when you first get them. But you should definitely take a chance on the V5s, you won’t regret it! 🙌
chasen432: Totally agree about the v6 that's coming. UGLY. Don't have as much support either. Hope they're a major fail and NB regains its sanity. Don't mess with a classy, superb, supportive and comfortable design like the v5. In my opinion v6 is a huge mistake.
@@sl2608 Yeah im not much into that model other than the FuelCell they are adding to it. I hope they add Freshfoam X and Fuelcell into the legacy shoes soon.
@@chasen432 I think (hope) the v6 release turns out like the v4. People hated the fit of the v4 -- the midsole that choked the foot and the cramped toe box. NB got such horrible feedback they stopped making it not long after release. Then came the brilliant, perfect v5. I have a feeling the v6 might get the same monumental negative feedback as the v4. Oh wait, it already IS! 🤣
I'm in the same boat! I wear Saucony Freedom 3's to work and the midsole is very similar to boost maybe more squishy but I've learned that I need a more firmer/supportive shoe to stand in and walk around for my 10hr shifts. I've noticed when I put on my firmer Nike Pegasus 33's my knees don't ache. When I wear my Saucony's after awhile my feet start aching as well as my knees.
It was a bummer when foamer stopped doing his life tests, it's great that you're doing this

Love my 990 v5's - got two pairs. Only con I have is that the paint on the midsole is cracking. My other 990's have never experienced this issue.
